The SpaceThe villa has been reconstructed in 2016. Cozy, romantic and spacious it serves the purposes of connecting you with the wilderness of nature, but still keeping you within easy access to civilization and visiting trails. Guest AccessYou will have the entire house and garden at your disposal. The river that flows through the garden offers the most crystalline potable water, very refreshing. Within walking distance (2 min) the lake offers great "swimming moments". :D Furthermore, you are surrounded by the mountains, so visiting trails are plenty.
An inflatable boat, a hammock, 2 deck-chairs, fire tools, all the kitchen and toilet necessity products are provided for you! The garden has some fruit trees, which you can taste. Interaction with GuestsAs my work implies a lot of traveling, I might not be present during your stay. But there will be always someone with good language skills (Romanian, Hungarian, English, Italian, French, Spanish) helping you around the house, or giving you precious information about tourist attractions near-by. Maps, catalogs, travel books and a personalized notice are waiting for you at the house.
In case you wish privacy, that's not a problem. You are free to call us for help only when you want. Nobody will bother you, or check "if everything is OK", unless you want it. The NeighborhoodThe Firiza Lake district is a very unique place, surrounded by wild forests (still inhabited by animals such as foxes, boars, deers, bears, owls, eagles etc.). It is the vacation lake of the Baia Mare city, close to the Firiza village, which now is officially part of the city.
The closest restaurant is "Caprioara" (= the little deer) offering a variety of local food. (10 min walk towards Firiza) If you go up to Blidari, there is a pretty famous restaurant that offers a variety of trout specialties cooked directly from their pools. Very delicious!
If you go towards Izvoare, (= water springs) when going out of the city, and of Firiza quarter, you will find a water spring on the right of the road. That water has the taste of a liquid crystal!
Further on, if you continue up to Izvoare Resort, (= water springs resort) you will find picturesque meadows, with hotels and restaurants offering good food and a nice view. This resort has a couple of beginner and intermediate ski slopes. From here you can also go up on Ignis Mountain. (1.307m)
You can find a lot of restaurants, clubs and bars, shops and supermarkets in Baia Mare. You can also find here a local food market with outstanding delicious food at low prices. This city, capital of Maramures county, is also known for its rich history and remarkable "en plein-air" old Art School, being compared to the Barbizon School of Art.
