Vast quantity of books and a selection of games for children. Fully equipped kitchen with washing machine, dishwasher, gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle and toaster. Crockery, cutlery, glasses cooking equipment Iron and board. The kitchen leads to a conservatory with dining table, TV and video player and additional storage. There are separate hand washing facilities beneath the central heating boiler in a partitioned corner. Barn (split) door to rear garden. Interaction with GuestsAs much or as little as you like I am nearby and can be with you in a few minutes. On your arrival, depending on the length of your stay, I will greet you and provide a welcome pack with essential items to get your time with us off to a great start. A lovely sandy beach with stunning walks through dunes and woodland areas where cycling is also permitted. It may be possible to have use of bicycles during your stay. Southport centre is just 15 minutes away by car. Getting AroundLocal bus and train services to Southport centre or all points to Liverpool nearby. Connections to the wider area of Cheshire, North Wales, Lancashire, Manchester and the Lake District from Southport or Liverpool. Other Things to NoteIdeally connected to all village amenities. Supermarkets, restaurants and pubs are within easy reach, with a range of shops in the village high street. Southport is one of the great traditional seaside resorts with miles of open stunning sand dunes and award winning beaches. A scene of tranquil parks and gardens by day that transform into a vibrant nightspot when the sun goes down. The Victorian splendor of Lord Street is on hand for anyone who wants a little retail therapy, whilst further afield are world class events from the Southport Airshow to the famous Grand National. Of course many of the great Southport events happen on the Pontins Holiday Park. The hotel has some of the best music and entertainment venues in the North West so you can be sure of a unique experience from some of the UKs leading big name acts. Near the beach with glorious sunsets and also not too far is a 5 min drive into farmland. Close to resort of southport 15 mins by car or Liverpool 35 mins by local train. Good golf clubs/Formby Hall near by and swimming pools, village shopping, pine wood walks near beach etc. Great pubs, bars, restaurants etc including lovely sparrow hawk pub/restaurant 10'mins walk. Buses to Liverpool and Southport etc that stop only 3 mins away with local train service also every 15 mins to Liverpool or Southport etc. Train station 10 mins or so if walking from here.           Ideal base for a family or couples to enjoy a coastal holiday with easy access to Chester, Manchester, Blackpool and the Ribble Valley.. Located in the village of Ainsdale, a semi rural suburb of Southport, this cosy mid terraced cottage provides comfortable holiday accommodation, ideal for families and couples who want to explore all that the north west of England has to offer, both coast and country. Ainsdale village has several pubs, restaurants, shops and takeaways which are all within half a mile of the cottage. It also has a leisure centre and village green. The village has a strong sense of community with the local community centre offering meals and activities for older people at very reasonable prices, and Ainsdale Horticultural Society holds a village show on the village green every year at the start of July. Ainsdale also has a fabulous beach, which is said to have some of the most breath-taking sunsets and cloudscapes in the whole country. A great base for walkers and nature lovers, the Sefton Coastal Path and the Trans Pennine Trail both pass through Ainsdale. A number of waymarked nature trails are also accessible from the village. These trails allow access to the Ainsdale Sand Dunes, designated as one of England’s National Nature Reserves. The dunes are home to over 450 plant species as well as the rare natterjack toad, Europe’s loudest amphibian. Red squirrels can occasionally be seen amongst the reserve’s pine forests too, while sand lizards, great-crested newts and a fantastic variety of orchids and other wildflowers can also be found here. The reserve has a network of around 8 miles of marked footpaths including the Woodland Path and Fisherman’s Path which are both accessible by bike, pushchairs and wheelchairs. An award winning pub and restaurant can be accessed via the paths, walking 3 3/4 miles, 1 hour and 14 minutes (approximately) from Ainsdale railway station with limited on street parking in the vicinity of pine woods. There are several golf clubs nearby including Royal Birkdale, Hillside, Southport and Ainsdale, and Formby Hall. The Victorian seaside town of Southport is just 15 minutes away by car, and apart from its beach, fairground and waterpark also offers a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. It is well known for local, national and international artists featuring in performances and shows at the refurbished Art Centre, Floral Hall or other locations within the town. Blackpool with its many attractions and landmarks is just 35 miles away by car. Other places on the coast worth visiting include the cosmopolitan resort of Lytham St Annes and Crosby beach. Liverpool can be reached in approximately half an hour by car and Chester, Manchester and Preston are all under an hour’s drive. The Lake District and Lancashire’s beautiful Ribble Valley can be reached in approximately 90 minutes. For those who want a break from driving, the cottage has excellent links to public transport.
