Living at the rear of the two acre property that Butlers Bend is located on, we are available for any assistance you may require, however we are also very conscious of our guests desire for privacy. The NeighborhoodWe are conveniently located, an easy walk to all shops, restaurants, hotel, beaches and the famous Split Point Lighthouse. Once here, you can put the car keys away for your entire stay. Aireys Inlet offers a host of outdoor activities or, you may prefer to relax on your sundeck with a nice glass of wine and take in some of the best scenery and freshest air you will find anywhere in Australia. Other Things to NoteWe do require a two night minimum stay over weekends and of course, longer stays are required over public holidays and peak holiday periods (e.g. Easter and Xmas/New Year)

The SpaceSatis Beach House is a relaxing and comfortable log cabin in the charming seaside town of Aireys Inlet. Our house is on the ocean side of Australia's famous Great Ocean Road, just around the corner from the beach. Living, dining and kitchen areas are open plan with leather couches, dining table and chairs, a well stocked bookshelf, TV/DVD and CD players. There is a high chair for young children. The three bedrooms house a queen sized bed in the main, a double in another and bunks in the third bed room. There is a bathroom with shower and toilet, and a separate toilet near the laundry alcove. Our holiday house is set up for beachside living with a canoe, life jackets and paddles, boogie boards, games and books for your enjoyment. In the large, sheltered garden there is a BBQ, a long teak table and driftwood chairs and benches, and plenty of space for a game of boules. An insect proof gazebo with a table and chairs is perfect for hot summer nights. Our garden is private, fenced and treed with a variety of native birds frequenting it. The house is great for up to six people, no more. A minimum booking is for two nights but on long weekends we prefer three nights. A late check out may be available in the quieter times. During the summer holidays, preference will be given to a weekly booking or a minimum of at least five nights. During Easter, preference is given to a booking of four or more nights. Linen is not usually provided (see house rules). The beautiful beach, ever changing inlet and coastal walks begin just around the corner. What we lack in sea views, we make up for in close proximity to everything - to the surf beach, inlet and rock pools, cliff top and Surf Coast walk, to Split Point Lighthouse, the skate park, shops, cafes and gourmet restaurants and the famous Aireys Pub. A beach walk will bring you to the fantastic Fairhaven Surf Life Saving Club with brilliant views, good bar prices and great food. All visitors are welcome. Nature lovers can stroll along the river or bicycle or canoe down the valley to the rainforests of the Great Otway National Park. Hike through the rainforest, smell the mint bush and the wattles, admire the wild flowers and the crazy gang gang cockatoos, breathe fresh air.....horse ride, hang glide or just hang out. The Great Ocean Road is justly famous for spectacular views and beaches, rainforests, wildlife, bushwalking, restaurants, art galleries, wineries, markets and bookshops, and sports including surfing, swimming, snorkelling, cycling, running, golf, tennis, fishing and kayaking. Getting AroundAbout an hour and forty minutes drive from Melbourne. The bus stop is very close and the Great Ocean Road buses link to the Melbourne train via a connection at Geelong Station. When you are here, lock up the car and walk! Other Things to Note**Our base rate for weekdays is $160-180 per week night and $200 per night during weekends for most of the year. Holidays are at a higher rate: $220 on most long weekends and in mid season, $250 at Easter and averaging $280-$300 per night in the summer holidays....late December until the end of January. **The kitchen cupboards have some basics. You are welcome to use them in moderation but asked to replace the item if you use most of it.....or the lot! **The long wooden cupboard in the living room has most of the crockery and a lot of extra glasses. Alas there is just too much to fit in the kitchen! It also hold the extra keys to the house, shed and gazebo keys and back door keys. Please return to these hooks before you leave. **The dishwasher works best if the tablet is put on the bottom of it as the detergent door is temperamental. Please empty it before you leave.

The SpaceNestled in the foothills of the beautiful Otway Ranges, this holiday rental is just 250m from the spectacular (patrolled) Fairhaven Surf beach on the Great Ocean Road - half way between the popular coastal towns of Anglesea and Lorne. The house sleeps 8 people in 3 bedrooms - 2 queen size beds and a bunk room for 4. There are 2 living areas - one with an open fire place and the other with a large TV, dvd/video player and Foxtel. There is also an enclosed decking with BBQ facilities to enhance your experience of the Australian bush. The house is fully self contained but you do need to bring your own bed linen (or sleeping bags) and bath towels. Fairhaven Retreat is a few minutes drive to shops, cafes and galleries, as well as popular attractions such as Split Point Lighthouse and Eagle Rock Marine Sanctuary at Aireys Inlet. Nearby Blazing Saddles can provide the very unique experience of visiting Fairhaven beach on horseback as well enjoying the inland bush trail rides through the Otway National Park. The Space***Please note minimum booking through January is 1 week, Easter and long weekends 3 nights (with 6PM checkout usually available), thankyou! This is my home-away-from-home so I've not made any compromises in terms of comfort and facilities. Quality hardwood/leather furnishings, decent linen and towels, some interesting and unique artworks, and a fully equipped home theatre; a study with printer/fax, wi-fi, even a couple of 22" monitors, keyboards and mice to turn your laptops into work stations, if you like. The balcony offers more than a 180 degree view across Bass Strait, down to Fairhaven, and beyond that, Lorne. And of course the view is dominated by the Split Point Lighthouse, made famous in the 90's kids' show "Round the Twist", and just a short stroll from the house. Tours of the lighthouse are available on weekends, and the tea house does excellent refreshments, and has an amazing collection of historic photographs of the area. There's plenty of sun on the balcony, and a shade cloth as well. Outdoor furniture is provided, including 2 padded sun lounges. Cockatoos, parrots and crimson rosellas are frequent visitors and can be hand fed (except the cockies, they'll eat your finger!) Inside, the living area has 270 degrees of glass to take in the full view, including the hinterland to the west. A gas 'log' fire and reverse cycle air conditioner ensure your comfort all year round. The TV is a huge 50", and gets all Melbourne channels plus basic Foxtel. There's also a DVD with hard drive recording, radio tuner, and places to dock your i-phone or plug in any external audio device. You'll find a few CD's and DVD's for rainy days, along with board games and a telescope to watch the passing ships or gaze at the planets by night. The kitchen includes a large fridge, dishwasher, microwave and conventional oven and electric stovetop; plus of course toaster, kettle, and coffee percolator. There's some tea varieties and coffee, salt/pepper and sugar provided, and the mini mart is just a short walk for all your basic food needs. Or stop at the IGA at Angelsea on your way down. Off the kitchen is a smaller, west-facing balcony with barbeque. The master bedroom also enjoys an ocean view, and ensuite with bath and shower. If you're like me and enjoy a sleep-in, you can draw the blackout curtains, but leave the window open to let the ocean waves lull you to sleep. Downstairs are two more bedrooms, each with queen sized beds. Thee family room has another TV and Playstation 3, including a few titles, but it's best to bring your kids' favourites. There are bean bags for the kids and a sofa. There's a second bathroom downstairs, and laundry with washer and dryer. You'll also find the study down here, but I also have a desk on wheels in the upstairs living area so you can set up your laptop with a panoramic ocean view and actually try to get some work done! Or just use it as a breakfast table with the best view in the region. Throughout the house you'll find regionally relevant artworks, etchings and maps on nautical themes. Guest AccessWhen you book my house you are on your own, with complete privacy. It's perfect for a romantic getaway and you won't be kicked out at 11AM on Sunday* - when you book for a weekend, that means ALL weekend. *On days where I have no other bookings I allow a 6PM checkout - this is usually the case on Sundays and often other days as well, but is not guaranteed. The NeighborhoodAireys Inlet marks the start of the Great Ocean Road, the spectacular winding road that follows the coast through the Otway Ranges down to the far west of Victoria. It's 90 minutes by car from the city of Melbourne to our house, and from here just 20 minutes to the old seaside resort of Lorne, where you'll find a variety of restaurants, cafes, pubs and points of interest. Aireys itself has an excellent pub with a friendly local atmosphere and great meals, and in the warmer months we also have a gourmet Greek restaurant. The bakery, supermarket, cafe and post office are all walking distance from the house, and down the bottom of the hill towards Fairhaven you'll find a classic surfie's cafe, which also makes pizzas at night. Speaking of surfing, we're only about 20 minutes from Bell's Beach, and depending on the breaks, surfing is up all year round down here - including on the point right in front of our house when there's a decent swell. Right across the road is a popular scenic walking track; take that towards the lighthouse, then do a sharp left turn at the first car park, and you'll find the steps down to our (almost) private beach. At low tide you can walk around to the bays either side, which are otherwise inaccessible. For the kids you're better off down at Fairhaven Beach, just at the bottom of the hill, where you'll find a long, pristine, sandy beach, patrolled by lifesavers in summer. It's possibly the best beach on the surf coast.

The Space2 bedroomed, fully furnished, cottage, high on a hill overlooking the valley, river, river mouth opening to the sea and of course the famous Split Point lighthouse. The house block goes down to the river and a 5 minute walk gets you to the beach. A 10 minute walk will get you to the pub and several lovely restaurants The Great Ocean Road bus stop is at the bottom of the hill. Kangaroos graze on the river flats and on your balcony coloured parrots fly to your hand to feed. Everything is supplied just bring your toothbrush and food. The SpaceTanarama is ideal for groups of up to 8 individuals. The master bedroom / ensuite upstairs is a peaceful and private retreat, and affords views of the bushland that surrounds the house. The ground floor has three bedrooms (queen bed / 2 Bunk Beds / single daybed), a toilet, a laundry / utility room, a large bathroom complete with a spa / Jacuzzi bathtub, and a fully equipped kitchen. The open-plan living area is modern and comfortable, and during the winter it is warmed by a wood fireplace. Directly outside, a timber deck / BBQ area overlooks the dense bush. Chance encounters with echidnas, kangaroos, possums, sulphur-crested cockatoos and other native fauna are commonplace. The house is a five-minute stroll from Moggs Creek Beach. Numerous walking trails can be found within a few minutes of our gate. There is a plethora of shopping and dining options in both Lorne and Anglesea, approximately 15 minutes away by car in either direction along the Great Ocean Road. Tanarama is also an ideal jump-off point for longer road trips to destinations along Victoria's coastline. Guest AccessGuests access the entire property. Interaction with GuestsGuests will have complete privacy, but we will make sure that we are in touch in case of questions or problems at the house. Other Things to NoteRegarding our rates: Tanarama can comfortably house 8 guests, but the price quoted is for 4 guests. For each additional guest after the initial 4, an extra $15 per night charge is applicable. Additionally, we do not ask guests to clean the property, but we do ask that they tidy up and restore furniture to their original locations prior to departure. Cleaners will come in after each set of guests, and there is a $75 cleaning charge to cover this. If you use the bbq unit, please give it a wipe down prior to leaving the property. We also ask guests to ensure that both the front door and the door to the decking area are properly closed and locked, and for the bins to be dragged out to the street for collection prior to departing the property.

The SpaceApart from your main food items (breakfast provisions are provided) there is nothing to bring ! Linen/doonas, towels, pillows etc are supplied. Simply advise how many beds you want made up. Open plan living, dining and modern kitchen with dishwasher, electric stove and microwave, with basic pantry ingredients available for your use. Outside deck and BBQ also available. The main living area is full of surfing memorabilia, with a great library and DVD/music collection. The bedrooms are cozy, modern and roomy. Infant portacot and stroller is also available. Airey's on Hartley is a 5 minute walk from the famous Surf Coast cliff walk and Sandy Gully Beach. Shops, Post Office, Pub and cafes are a 10 minute walk away. Airey's Inlet is a small, quaint quiet town away from the normal tourist hustle and bustle nestled between the forest and the sea. The township of Lorne, Otway National Park and numerous quality surf breaks are a short drive away. Words cannot describe the local sandy beaches with Lighthouse views, excellent swimming and suitable rock pool rambling. The area is amazing in all seasons. The NeighborhoodThe house is located in the most private and exclusive part of Aireys Inlet on The Great Ocean Rd. I have a great understanding of things like the local surf conditions and the weather all the way to the 12 Apostles, the beaches, and where the best food outlets and restaurants are on the Great Ocean rd. The house is minutes away from the famous bush cliff walking tracks which offer stunning panoramic ocean views where whales can be seen in winter. It is also within 5 minutes walk of the most beautiful and quiet swimming beaches on the entire coast including the mermaid pool. Getting Around2 minute drive to shops and pub / hotel or 10 minute walk. 20 minute walk to the lighthouse. 20 minute drive to Lorne and less than a 10 minute drive to Anglesea. Other Things to NoteUnless you plan to eat out it is best to get groceries in Melbourne or Geelong before you arrive as the local shops are either expensive or close quite early. The rumpus room is stocked with games, toys, dvds and a Wii. Kitchen decked out with everything to support formal inhome dining. The garage will be locked with our personal belongings inside. I often see king parrots, white and the black cockatoos, galahs, kookaburras and an owl visits the street post regularly. I've even had a kangaroo on the front lawn. (they graze in the nearby valley)

    The SpaceThe cabin consists of a living and a sleeping area (on different levels, but not divided by a wall) along with kitchen and bathroom (NB off-peak heating). The living area has a sofa bed and the sleeping area a comfortable double bed. The living area opens onto a generous deck with outdoor furniture, including a barbecue. This is not motel-style accommodation: it is part of a family beach house. But we like it and hope you will, too. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the cabin and deck. If there are children, they are free to play in the back yard. Pets are welcome but note that the property is only partially fenced. If your dog is a tear-away, you would need a leash. Interaction with GuestsWe will occasionally be in the main house on the property. Guests are welcome to seek us out, but otherwise will be left to themselves. The NeighborhoodThis is a place of great natural beauty, with beaches and bush and abundant wildlife. Small shops and cafes make life comfortable but overall there is little commercial development. It is a wonderful place to have a holiday, or to live. Other Things to NoteMinimum stay is two nights. We are frequently asked if we will accept a one-night booking, but we do not make exceptions to this rule. The tariff is modest, and we pay tax on it. This, combined with the necessity to organize cleaning for each stay, means that it is not worth our while to host for one night only. This is a good space for a couple, but (in response to many requests) we have decided that we will accept up to four adult guests , with a surcharge of $15 per night for additional adults. Note that there is no privacy for individual couples in the cabin: it is completely open plan except for the bathroom. There is no extra charge for child or children up to 15. As we do not live permanently at or near this address, we do not provide linen, towels, or food. In brief, this BnB has the bed, but not the breakfast. Our experience is that young people love staying here, while older people often wish that it had more features than it does. Among other things we have been asked for are better saucepans, a bigger bed, a newer couch, and more reliable t.v. reception. We ourselves are 'older', so quite understand the desire for maximum comfort in all these domains, but all these things are costly and could not be purchased without an impact on the tariff. Potential guests should take note, just in case these are on your list of priorities. As noted above, the hot-water system is off-peak, so the day you arrive there will normally not be hot water in the tank. It will heat up overnight. But if we are on the premises the night before, we turn on the hot water for you, and if a guest has been staying the night before, there should be hot water in the tank still. Television reception is not fantastic, but the t.v. has an inbuilt DVD player, and videos can be hired at the local shops.

The NeighborhoodFairhaven has a rural bush 'feel' however there are cafes, a few restaurants and a great pub located a 5 minute drive away in Aireys Inlet. The quiet location features a beautiful long stretch of beach and surf coast. Shops, cafes and restaurants are nearby: 1km east to Aireys Inlet for the closest shops, 15km to the west is the bustle of Lorne and 10km east is the township of Anglesea. Public transport is by bus and connects all the townships along the Great Ocean Road. Both Anglesea and Lorne have great golf clubs that are open to the general public. Anglesea's golf club is world renowned for its large local kangaroo population and Lorne's golf club is equally known for its amazing views over Louttit Bay. Blazing Saddles in Aireys Inlet do horseback trail rides on the beach and through the bush. Fairhaven is surrounded by Flora and Fauna reserves, State Forests and the Great Otway National Park. There are numerous walking and mountain biking tracks. Getting AroundPublic transport is by bus from Geelong (if coming from Melbourne) and connects all the townships along the Great Ocean Road. Other Things to NoteThe house is a 2 minute drive to the main Fairhaven beach (patrolled with life savers during summer months).

The living room has expansive glass and a double fire place, making it an all year around excellent abode to relax and entertain in. The house sleeps 10 (2 Queen beds, 6 single beds). It has 3 bathrooms and a 4th shower outside. Upper level: Spacious, open plan living/dining area with large floor to ceiling windows, tastefully decorated with original modern artworks. Expansive views of Fairhaven valley and neighbouring forest with glimpses of the ocean. Living area offers 2 large couches, TV/DVD/CD/Blue ray player and double sided fireplace. Large balcony hugs three sides of the house, offering ample entertaining space. Gas BBQ, outdoor setting with umbrella and even a chiminea if you would prefer be outside with that glass of wine! The large kitchen is well equipped with quality and numerous appliances. Huge bench space. The photos can do the talking. Bedroom 1 - 1 queen bed and en suite bathroom Bedroom 2 - 2 single beds Bedroom 3 - Queen bed with floor to ceiling windows, doors to balcony Bedroom 4 - (downstairs) 4 single beds 2 of which are portable trundles that unfold to conventional bed height. (these can easily be moved between upstairs and downstairs, if desired). Laundry with washing machine and dryer Ground Level: Access to the downstairs area is by (almost fully covered) external steps, about 10 steps. There is no internal staircase. Modern, bright second living area. Has glass concertina doors to outside. Heated with gas log fireplace. Table tennis, fooze ball table, TV, DVD, CD, books, games. Bathroom and bedroom area (Bedroom 4 as above) Carport and ample parking space. Additional shower outside. Whilst covered doonas and pillows are supplied, guests are required to bring their own linen including, sheets, towels, pillow slips and bath mats. Outside, there is a full size trampoline. This is a unique spot as it is right beside the forest, yet, honestly only 6 minutes flat walk to the beach. Hence it has an 'away from the city', feel to it.       The SpaceThe Beach Retreat will delight your senses. From the moment you drive in the gate, the sea and bush vistas start to weave their magic. You are moments away from great beaches, restaurants, cafes, Otway National Park, bush and cliff top walks, a lighthouse climb, riding, and kayaking; yet feel as though you have been transported to an idyllic setting of tranquility where your only visitors are the presence and chatter of native birds and the occasional kangaroo, and the rumble of waves breaking. The house looks out to the sea and is surrounded by 10 plus acres of iron bark eucalyptus and protected bush. Outdoor sculptures enhance the surroundings and aim to amuse. The house was architecturally designed, it features floor to ceiling windows with expansive views to the south, east and west that invite the outside in. There is a large deck (including seating and barbecue), an open plan living area replete with fireplace, piano, a dining table that seats 8, and two large sofas (one a sofa bed). The new kitchen will inspire all cooks (a Smeg gas cooktop, double ovens, drawer dishwashers, coffee plungers, microwave, etc etc). We leave the kitchen stocked so feel free to use and replace any of the ingredients, food and wine that is there. The kitchen's windows open to the deck, even the sink has a view to the sea and lighthouse. There are two bedrooms with queen size beds, one a mezzanine, the other on the ground floor with ensuite bathroom, a fireplace and lounge area. The main bathroom has a huge bath with bush and ocean views. Television, DVD and video players (and some DVDs and CDs) are provided throughout the house, and the fireside trunk contains a plethora of games, if chess or cards take your imagination. There is plenty of heating and cooling and fire wood provided to cater for any weather. We love the house and hope you do too. Single level with open-plan dining/kitchen, separate living/entertaining, 3 bedrooms and parking. Moggs beach house is a recently renovated beach house with plenty of character, space and fabulous views of the beach at Moggs Creek. It is a perfect location to relax, catch-up with friends & family and enjoy the best nature has to offer on the nearby beaches and in the bush of the National Park. The house accommodates up to 8 comfortably (3 bedrooms with 2 x Queen size beds and 4 single bunks). It has 2 bathrooms, a large kitchen/dining area, two roomy living/entertainment areas and a large deck with BBQ. It is a 3 minute walk to the beautiful beach at Moggs Creek, which stretches for 6km from Fairhaven to Eastern View and is great year round for surfing, fishing and walking. Dolphins sometimes swim close to the shore and in winter, whales can be seen from the deck as they migrate along the coast. The neighbouring Great Otway National Park is great for bush walking and mountain bike riding. There is abundant wildlife in the area with kangaroos, king parrots, cockatoos, kookaburras and other native birds visiting often. It is a ten minute walk up to the Look-Out up along the Moggs Creek Track. The lookout has 180 degree views from the Airey's Lighthouse to Lorne and is well worth the effort. Moggs Creek is a much quieter coastal haven than the neighbouring towns of Lorne, Aireys Inlet and Anglesea. It retains the relaxed feeling of the old west coast from 30 years ago, but is still only a 15 minute drive to Lorne or Anglesea if you need to stock up on anything. The new Fairhaven Surf Life Saving clubhouse is a 5 minute drive down the Great Ocean Rd and offers great evening meals and a friendly atmosphere. Other activities and places of interest in the local area include: galleries, cafe's, the Split Point lighthouse at Aireys Inlet, horse riding and golf to name a few. Further afield and about a 2 hour drive are the 12 Apostles and Otway Fly Treetop Adventures which are well worth a visit. All facilities at the beach house are available for guests to use. The kitchen has an oven, grill, electric cooktop, microwave, fridge, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, sandwich maker, toaster and a new dishwasher. WiFi access is available upon request. In the entertainment area there is a leather modular sofa, flat screen TV and DVD player. In the lounge area there are two large leather sofas with a large coffee table. The deck has a large Jarrah outdoor setting that seats 8 people comfortably and there are an additional 6 chairs under a grey cover if needed. The BBQ is is a Weber family Q which is perfect for cooking for a family or group. The 3 bedrooms (2 with Queen size beds and 1 with 4 single bunks) all open onto outside verandahs. The main bedroom has its own ensuite and there is a separate bathroom and WC for the other bedrooms. There is a portacot and high chair available for families with babies and toddlers. The outdoor shower near the water tanks at the rear of the house has hot and cold running water and is perfect for washing off when coming back from the beach. Walk down Noel Road to the end, turn left , cross the Great Ocean Road to the beach (3 minutes). Then walk left along the 6km stretch of beach towards Moggs Creek river mouth and Fairhaven. Or walk right towards Eastern View, “Spot” surf spot, Great Ocean Road Archway and Spout Creek. •Walk to the Lookout. From the driveway of the house go left up along Boyd Rd, straight up Moggs Creek Track for 1km and turn left to the lookout for great views from Lorne to the Aireys Lighthouse. •Walk thru the bush. Go left up along Boyd Rd, up Moggs Creek Track for 1km and turn right at lookout track and follow the track for 3km to the Moggs Creek picnic ground. Walk or get a lift from the Moggs Creek picnic ground back to the house. •See the birds. King Parrots, Rosella’s and Cockatoo’s often come to the property in the mornings and evenings looking for food. Be careful not to feed the Cockatoo’s by hand as they have large sharp beaks, ouch! •Fishing. Good surf and rock fishing on the incoming tide along coast. •Surfing. Good waves often straight out the front at Moggs Creek. •“Spot” surf spot is 300m to the right from Moggs Creek beach. You can walk or drive there. •Lorne is a 15 minute drive for safe and protected smaller surf. •World famous Bell’s Beach and Torquay are a 20 minute drive. •Cycling. Excellent Mountain riding on tracks between Aireys Inlet and Anglesea. There is a competition grade mountain bike track located in hills of the Eumeralla Scout camp, behind Anglesea. Call in to Anglesea bike shop for directions. Very good road riding along The Great Ocean Road and along the roads thru the Otways. Caution is required as The Great Ocean Road gets busy with traffic during the warmer months. Aireys Inlet •Visit the Split Point Lighthouse and cafe (about 6 minutes drive). Book tours at (website hidden). •Walk out to Eagle Rock at low tide from the car park near the Lighthouse. •Blazing Saddles at Fairhaven is great for horse rides for kids and family. •General Store (for milk, newspapers etc), Bakery and Post Office (top shops). Lorne •Pier for great views of Loutit Bay and fishing. •Erskine Falls (wear boots/sandals with soles as may be slippery). •Great walking tracks in and around Lorne thru the bush and along the coast. •Skate Park on the foreshore. In the area behind the house near the water tanks is an outdoor shower with hot and cold water. It is easier to rinse off here when coming back from the beach. •Pull BBQ out onto deck. Spare chairs are also on the deck under a grey cover. •A Flat screen TV and DVD player are located in the lounge area. •Water jugs. There are two water jugs with filters on the kitchen bench. The property is on tank water so it is recommended to fill and use the water filter jugs for drinking water. Please be water wise. •Light switches special note. There are 2 switches on the wall near the back door – one switch is for the driveway spotlight and the other is for the back verandah. •Insect repellent. In the evening use insect repellent (located in the pantry) as mozzies can be annoying. •Note: Rubbish Collection day is early Tuesday morning, so please put the rubbish and recycling out on Monday night. The NeighborhoodThings to do! From the house •Go to the beach. Walk down Noel Road to the end, turn left , cross the Great Ocean Road to the beach (3 minutes). Then walk left along the 6km stretch of beach towards Moggs Creek river mouth and Fairhaven. Or walk right towards Eastern View, “Spot” surf spot, Great Ocean Road Archway and Spout Creek. •Walk to the Lookout. From the driveway of the house go left up along Boyd Rd, straight up Moggs Creek Track for 1km and turn left to the lookout for great views from Lorne to the Aireys Lighthouse. •Walk thru the bush. Go left up along Boyd Rd, up Moggs Creek Track for 1km and turn right at lookout track and follow the track for 3km to the Moggs Creek picnic ground. Walk or get a lift from the Moggs Creek picnic ground back to the house. •See the birds. King Parrots, Rosella’s and Cockatoo’s often come to the property in the mornings and evenings looking for food. Be careful not to feed the Cockatoo’s by hand as they have large sharp beaks, ouch! •Fishing. Good surf and rock fishing on the incoming tide along coast. •Surfing. Good waves often straight out the front at Moggs Creek. •“Spot” surf spot is 300m to the right from Moggs Creek beach. You can walk or drive there. •Lorne is a 15 minute drive for safe and protected smaller surf. •World famous Bell’s Beach and Torquay are a 20 minute drive. •Cycling. Excellent Mountain riding on tracks between Aireys Inlet and Anglesea. There is a competition grade mountain bike track located in hills of the Eumeralla Scout camp, behind Anglesea. Call in to Anglesea bike shop for directions. Very good road riding along The Great Ocean Road and along the roads thru the Otways. Caution is required as The Great Ocean Road gets busy with traffic during the warmer months. Aireys Inlet •Visit the Split Point Lighthouse and cafe (about 6 minutes drive). Book tours at (website hidden). •Walk out to Eagle Rock at low tide from the car park near the Lighthouse. •Blazing Saddles at Fairhaven is great for horse rides for kids and family. •General Store (for milk, newspapers etc), Bakery and Post Office (top shops). Lorne •Pier for great views of Loutit Bay and fishing. •Erskine Falls (wear boots/sandals with soles as may be slippery). •Great walking tracks in and around Lorne thru the bush and along the coast. •Skate Park on the foreshore. When using the oven it is best to set the temperature dial at 10 degrees higher than that indicated on the dial to get the required heat.

The cabin is nestled amongst mature trees with amazing bird life and the occasional Kangaroo hopping by. It comfortably sleeps 4 people and is privately separated away from the hosts dwelling . Guests have access to the the outside area including the bush/ BBQ/open fire pit in winter in the immediate vicinity of the retreat. But we prefer our privacy be respected around the main house. There is limited access to the host's dedicated yoga room (the "Kangaroom") for yoga practice or private classes. On arrival and throughout their stay as required. We both work part time therefore we are sometimes present and other times not. Aireys Inlet is a quiet small town of just 1200 permanent residents situated on the world famous Great Ocean Road. Aireys boasts an iconic light house, pristine bush, cliff top walks and beautiful surf beaches. There is a great pub, and a variety of eating places. It is best to have your own car. Secure parking is available on site. To get to Aireys Inlet from Melbourne airport there is a Gull bus service to Geelong where a hire car can be collected. Aireys is a 40 minute drive from Geelong. The 2 bedrooms are small and close by each other so its best to know your retreat mates. Also please note the kitchen is basic there is no oven but the webber BBQ or electric frypan is fine for roasting . There is a single element electric induction cook top, a large electric wok, microwave, an electric frypan, toaster, kettle and BBQ. The hot water service is small plenty of water for two but it's best to have short showers if there's 4 of you. Also please be aware that the sewerage is an environmentally friendly system so please do not place pads or tampons in the toilet and use bin provided. If the alarm for the composting toilet system sounds please reset by pressing the red button next to the bathroom light switch. And let us know. It is large & has interesting spaces & is located in a cul-de-sac so is very quiet. There is no main road to cross to the beach which is only ~ 100metre walk( 5 mins.). It is a very relaxing place & is very comfortable. There are cliff top walks & only 10 mins. walk to the shops & a famous Pub. The house has 4 bedrooms ( 1x Queen, 1x Double, 1x Double + single Bunk ie. tri-bunk, 1x 2 singles) plus a large rumpus room with beds for 4.           The Boathouse is a fully self-contained cottage, two bedrooms, one bathroom, lounge, kitchen and dining room. All rooms except bathroom boast views of the magnificent coast-line and river .All linen is supplied, and many little extras. T.V with cd and dvd. (even got some romantic cds) welcoming log fire for the winter nights and large fans and coolers for the summer. A 10 minute walk gets you to the beach, and some of the restaurants. 15 minutes will get you to the hotel, and to the Surf Life Saving Club. Wild parrots come onto your private balcony and you can hand feed them. Walk to the bottom of the garden out the gate and follow the river to see wild kangaroos grazing peacefully. On a still night the crashing waves will rock you to sleep. The Boathouse is situated on the River, which is the border between Fairhaven and Aireys Inlet. Fairhaven boasts an enthusiastic Surf Life Saving Club. and glorious kms of golden sands. Aireys Inlet is the quaint little township of the area. It has several top restaurants, hotel, general store, post office and chemist shop. The local horse-riding ranch will get you onto the beach on horse-back. The famous Split Point lighthouse will give you tours through and up to the top for great photographic opportunities. Interesting bush track surround the entire township and provide hours of exploring fun for the adventurous bush-walker.
