Aquaponics greenhouse and Organic Veggie garden to pick and enjoy your morning breakfast from. Within 20 minutes of Gainesville, High Springs, and Lake City. Rivers and Natural Springs within minutes for your swimming, diving and boating pleasure. Great little storybook town of Alachua only 4 miles away where you may stroll, shop and eat in many nice restaurants. Gainesville also offers many things to do including Museums, theatre, fine dining, and many activities at the University of Florida. High Springs is full of antique shops and a great restaurant. If you love artifacts and archeology, our land was an Ancient Timucuan Indian Campsite and we have a Museum collection of artifacts we have found here over the years. The SpaceThe uniqueness of this space is its location. It is embedded in an oak forest on a quiet road. No street nights, no car sounds, no close-by neighbors. It is beautifully peaceful and quiet. Deer roam the land as well as many armadillo, bunnies, squirrels, and even some gopher turtles. Owls can be heard at night and other birds during the day. The cottage itself is two rooms. The common room has a small kitchen with a small frig, a freezer, two stove burners and a microwave. It also contains two twin beds, a small dining table with four chairs, a tv with satellite reception and internet connection. The bathroom off of this room has a shower. The second room is a bedroom with two twin beds that have been connected to make a king bed and three other beds. There is desk in this room and night tables and lamps by each bed. This room's bathroom does not have a shower. Immediately outside the front door of the cottage is a picnic table and a few folding chairs for those who want to sit outside. The city of Alachua is 5 minutes away and offers a great grocery store, some restaurants and little stores for various needs. Gainesville, a university town, is 20 minutes away and offers a huge selection of activities. Several gorgeous springs indigenous to north Florida are about 25 minutes north of us. The Temple of the Universe, which draws many beautiful visitors, is seven miles away. Guest AccessYou are welcome to access the entire cottage, the picnic table area in front of it, the land that surrounds it, and the gorgeous road on which it is situated that is beautiful for jogging, biking and walking. Interaction with GuestsI work very close by and live in a separate house on the same land as the cottage so I am almost always available to offer help throughout your stay! The NeighborhoodThis neighborhood is unique in that it situated on one of the oldest roads in Florida - Old Bellamy Road. Some of the houses date back to the the 1800's. Old Bellamy Road has been designated a scenic road which means it is kept up in its original form. Most of the neighbors live on hundreds of acres that were once farmlands so actual homes are not close. Getting AroundUnfortunately, there is not public transportation to Old Bellamy Road. You would need a car to get here. However, the city of Alachua offers a great grocery store (Publix), several restaurants and shops, fast food options, gas stations, medical facilities, and quick access to the interstate. Other Things to NoteOften, the GPS directs visitors to a point that is a mile past our driveway. I am not sure why. I am happy to provide specific driving instructions to find us. If you are arriving at night, I will leave a light on at the driveway entrance.

The SpaceNOTICE: ****I am only able to host up to two months in advance of the dates you inquire to book. No other requests will be answered.. Very sorry, but we are very busy people!**** YOU BOOK BY THE ROOM! $40 a night per ROOM, and you may bring as many air mattresses or people as you can fit in your ROOM- unless you want to book more rooms. The house is simultaneously trying to be sold, so the upmost respect for it is expected. I haven't worried about a security deposit before for a listing but this is now why I must enforce one. (And AirBnB requires a minimum!) For the same reason, not all of the furniture that is pictured in the photos are actually present, so make sure you read each of their captions! However there will always be at least three beds and a couch. If you have them, you are more than welcome to lay down as many air mattresses, etc. as you like. We also live here as well, so we don't mind if you plan on using our home for an event, but it will have to be ok with you and yours that we may have other guests staying in rooms you have not booked. But this shouldn't be a problem because we only accept people who are very welcoming, open-minded, and respectful of each other's time and space.... we also live more in the UF library than we do in our own home, so you may even get lucky and not have to deal with us! Guest AccessYou have access to everything but our room and food... but often times we make large enough dinners to share with our guests :) YOU BOOK BY THE ROOM! $40 a night per ROOM, and you may bring as many air mattresses or people as you can fit in your ROOM- unless you want to book more rooms. Interaction with GuestsWE LIVE HERE TOO! If you are looking for a venue for a special event, we certainly do not mind allowing you to host it here, but you should expect us to always be coming in and out. But as stated before, we will always try to help you out and remain respectful of your time and space. YOU BOOK BY THE ROOM! $40 a night per ROOM, and you may bring as many air mattresses or people as you can fit in your ROOM- unless you want to book more rooms. Feel free to contact me by cell or message. We will always be nearby if we are not at the house. The NeighborhoodBE SURE TO SEE OUR GUIDEBOOK MAP BELOW FOR SUGGESTIONS WITHIN THE SURROUNDING AREA :) Especially the north and west of us. To also mention, Gainesville is not far away and the close proximity offers further versatility to the area. But rest assured, our home is a beautiful escape from the college town! Getting AroundPlenty of space for parking. Public transportation is actually being implemented very soon near the interstate. The interstate is only a three minute drive or less from our house, and it will take you into Gainesville in fifteen minutes.
