The SpaceOur cozy guest home/cottage is 1000 sq/ft with a fully equipped/stocked kitchen, 2 bedrooms (1 King/1 Queen/1 full sofa sleeper) and 2 full bathrooms, laundry closet, and can accommodate up to 6 people very comfortably. In addition to lots of privacy there is access to a bike(s) if you want to ride a paved bike path that runs from Pleasanton to Walnut Creek (Iron Horse Trail). Plenty of hiking trails on nearby beautiful Mt. Diablo State Park. Very quiet, peaceful, and private (gated) if you are looking for an escape.
There is an eastern king bed in the master bedroom with a full bathroom (separate tub & shower) and walk-in closet, a queen bed in the guest bedroom with a bathroom in the hallway, and a double sleeper sofa in the living room. There is also an up/down washer & dryer in the hall closet. Great for a small family, a couple or a single traveler.
It is conveniently located to so many Bar Area attractions and activities. The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is close by in Walnut Creek (approx. 5 miles) and goes to both the San Francisco and Oakland International Airports. Concord Buchanan General Aviation Airport (Napa Airport & Livermore Airports close by) is only 15 minutes away as well. Napa Wine country is only 30-40 minutes away. Sonoma Raceway is also only 45 minutes away. Come play or come relax... Guest AccessThere are bikes and helmets available to use (at your own risk). Please make sure you ask for them at least 1 week in advance so I can have them serviced if necessary; I do not leave them out all the time.
There is access to an upper and lower patio in the rear yard with views of the vineyard and Mt. Diablo. A couple of fire pits (upper patio & lower patio) & a bar-b-q for your use with some tools, etc..
Private court for parking. Two car maximum. Please get prior approval for any parties or private get togethers.
The pool & spa at the main house are unavailable. The private cellar can be accessed with prior approval. Interaction with GuestsSomeone will be available as much or as little as you like. We may or may not be home during your stay. However, there will always be someone to show you around (for your first visit) when you arrive or shortly after, and names & phone numbers if any problems arise during your stay on an "Important Information" sheet located on the refrigerator.
We leave a selections of breakfast items for your stay. I also try to leave my fresh fruits from my organic garden that are in season as well as my fresh chicken eggs from The Sanderson Sisters (3 hens). The NeighborhoodWe are in a small unincorporated town with a quaint downtown for dinning, banking, coffee, ice cream, salons, hardware and necessities (CVS, RiteAid, Safeway, Five Guys Burgers, Starbucks, etc...). Conveniently located to the entire Bay Area.
Also, great for business people working in the area temporarily. Livorna park is down the street and beautiful Mt. Diablo State Park and Sugarloaf open space within walking distance (Livorna Road Trail Head at the end of the street) great for hiking and biking. Bishop Ranch business park is only a short drive from our home.
If you'd like some assistants with a traveling pet, we do have a reliable contact for a Pet Sitter/Walker, etc. Getting AroundWe have ample parking in a private court with a private entry gate if you are looking for seclusion (only 3 homes in the court). Leave your car at home and take BART (bay area rapid transit) minutes away in Walnut Creek with easy, convenient transportation to and from San Francisco, Oakland Colosseum & airports. Bus stop also nearby (down the hill). Taxi/Uber ride to Walnut Creek area usually runs about $5-20 depending on how many people and where you are going. Two cars maximum. Other Things to NoteIf you will be checking in after 10:00 P.M. I will give you instructions on how to get in the gate with the gate code, where to park in front, and the door will be unlock with the keys inside and the lights left on for you. (Working on 24 hour wifi access keypad at the front door).
For your convenience we also have lots of items that you may have left at home (shampoo/conditioner & hair dryers in both bathrooms).
We leave you breakfast goodies (let us know well in advance if you have any sort of food allergies/intolerance's and I'll do my best to accommodate) on the counter and in the refrigerator when you check in (may include fruits from our organic garden, fresh eggs from our chickens, fresh pastries, OJ, granola, assortment of milk/almond milk, bottled water & yogurts).
Our gardener Jose, comes on Thursdays each week, so it gets a bit noisy for a couple of hours during the day. My neighbors gardener comes on Wednesdays.
