The SpaceThe Driftwood Cabin is likely very different than other vacation rentals you have visited. It is rustic... we have included a small kitchenette area with Microwave, Mini-fridge, Coffee Pot and Electric Cook-top. The deck of Driftwood Cabin is literally hanging over the beach offering a loud view of the rushing whitewater. We have installed a free standing AC/Heating unit and the beach area has a nice fire ring for use as desired. Guest AccessCamp Driftwood is a shared property with a lot going on - especially holiday weekends. All sites on the property are pretty private but it is likely you will see others on site. The bathhouse is shared and remains unlocked unless occupied. Interaction with GuestsIt is quite possible we will not meet face to face during your stay. We do try and be there for arrival times but often guests are later than we are able to stay or our schedule just does not allow us to be there. We are always accessible on the Airbnb platform to answer any questions you may have. The NeighborhoodCamp Driftwood is unique because it is our family camp... there are no signs or commercial marketing here. We strive to make a stay at Camp Driftwood feel like you have come to a friends property. If there is anything we can do to make your stay more enjoyable please do not hesitate to ask. Feedback is very much appreciated. Getting AroundIf you leave our site heading south and take the first left on Monticello and follow to the light and take a right on 25/70 and follow to t-bone intersection at light - you will be on Main Street Weaverville. Loads of great shopping and dining options in Weaverville. If you leave our property heading north on Old Marshall Highway and follow signs to Marshall it is also a precious little town about 15 minutes from the site. A mile before our site (south of us) is The Ledges State Park. This is a state maintained park with river access - it is about a 1 hour float from The Ledges to our property. There are two more state park river access parks north of us ... Alexander Park and Walnut Park. You totally could stay in the river past our site and prolong the river experience up to about 2 hours if you go all the way to Walnut. This is a rapid section of river - nothing too exciting but is more than just a float... Other Things to NoteWe are totally pet friendly - we do require a $25 pet fee (not per pet - per party). All fire wood on site is shared and there is a little red wagon for use to haul from here to there. There is a fire ring on the beach for your use. Please leave wagon upside down after use to insure it does not hold water. There are a few axe's available on site - use at your own risk.

The SpaceTucked away in the comforting mountains of Western North Carolina, and only 12 miles from the unique experience of Asheville, the cabin is surrounded with many opportunities for connecting with nature and your inner soul. The cabin itself is the original home place with logs from the eighteen hundreds and has been renovated into a duplex (see Cabin For The Soul- Inner Heart) with well-insulated walls. With a creek that peacefully winds through the property and a variety of easy to moderate trails providing access to the beautiful scenery of this sacred land, most folks leave with a sense of magic floating in their hearts. The cabin and land make an ideal space for those needing a deeper contemplative state for healing and/or creativity, or just a place to get away from the stress of a fast paced world. The cabin can only accommodate two people. There are no overnight guests allowed. The cabin is simply furnished, including a TV set up for movies. We love pets but pets are not so as to be sensitive to those with allergies and to avoid infringement on those who already live here. Cell phone reception is great with Verizon, however, with other networks you may have to stand in certain areas of the house, or on the porch. This cabin is located at Heart Spring Sanctuary where we offer a variety of retreat packages for healing, nurturing, and wilderness connection that can be scheduled in addition to your vacation rental. Receive an extra special rate from our wonderful Licensed Massage Therapist of $70. per hour and 15 minutes at our unique healing/meditation hut. Please visit our website or contact us for more information about our services and be sure to schedule in advance. We hope to see you in the mountains soon! Guest AccessOn this sanctuary setting, guests have access to a number of trails that lead through the woods along with various meditation spots. In addition, there is a fire pit, a gazebo, outdoor games, and our sacred spring water. Interaction with GuestsWe enjoy greeting our guests and neighbors are always friendly. The NeighborhoodCabin for the Soul and the surrounding neighbors are all eco-conscious and friendly. We are always ready to support each other and the land. We are truly blessed with such a sacred and serene place to live. Getting AroundYou are tucked away in the country, so no public transportation is available. We'll throw ya in the back of the hay wagon if needed! :-) Other Things to NoteWe are 15 minutes from Asheville where you will find an eclectic variety of things to do. There are wonderful resteraunts, drumming circles, theaters, art galleries and chocolate lounges.

We do try and be there for arrival times but often guests are later than we are able to stay or our schedule just does not allow us to be there. We are always accessible on the Airbnb platform to answer any questions you may have. We are totally pet friendly - we do require a $25 pet fee (not per pet - per party). All fire wood on site is shared and there is a little red wagon for use to haul from here to there. Please leave wagon upside down after use to insure it does not hold water. There are a few axe's available on site - use at your own risk. Getting AroundWe are 8 miles north of downtown Asheville if you travel the river. If you leave Asheville on Broadway (UNCA area) our property is 8 miles out on the left. The road changes names a few times but this is the easiest route to our property (prettiest too). GPS will find the address and will likely travel the interstate for access (also good way to go). If you would like cab/uber service to Asheville or other locations we recommended Asheville Taxi Company – they know our location and are reasonable in their pricing. ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Other Things to NoteWe would suggest water shoes - river is totally swimmable but Camp Driftwood earned its name. The unique "Eddie" at our beach area attracts "drifting" items onto our property at the top of the beach. That includes some unsightly items and glass. Bathhouse hot water is instant hot water tank-less heater. It is operated on propane. If ever you cannot get hot water you are welcome to change the propane tank yourself (new ones on deck of bathhouse) or call us and we will be out to take care of it. Trash day is Monday so please make sure to have your larger trash bags and items in various cans Sunday night. Extended checkouts are typically not a problem... just ask! We hope you enjoy your stay!

Welcome to Abner's Cabin! Come stay with us at our quaint and charming 1928 cabin and enjoy some good old Southern Appalachian hospitality. Situated on two private acres less than 10 minutes from downtown Asheville. As its largest city, along with its central location in the southern Appalachian mountains, Asheville has become the nerve center of the area simply known as 'WNC' (Western North Carolina). Set in the beautiful French Broad Valley, which flows northwest to the Mississippi basin, Asheville is surrounded by the highest mountains in eastern America, some of the oldest in the world. The temperate climate enjoys four distinct seasons, with comfortable summers, mild winters, early spring and panoramic fall colors. The geographic features, combined with the climate, allows the area an abundance of outdoor activities from hiking to fishing to skiing and golf. A vibrant downtown Asheville offers a cultural diversity hard to find anywhere else in the US. Asheville attracts internationally known artists and is home to artists of world renown in every genre. Shops, antiques, artist's studios and restaurants, from local grills to fine dining, are all a part of what makes Asheville unique. So...just here for a few days or for a little while longer? Remember, a whole lot of nothing to do is fine and relaxing too! Almost anything you would want to do is here or nearby (ok, there's no ocean, check out VRBO for that, y'know?). Situated between the Smokies and the Blue Ridge, Asheville makes a great home base. From Boone to Brasstown, Mt. Pisgah to Mt. Mitchell, you can get there from Abner's Cabin. Come stay with us and see why we think our southern mountains are one of the most beautiful places in the country to visit. Abner's Cabin is located in a private setting on 2 acres overlooking horse farms. There is plenty of parking at the home and there is a carport if you prefer. It is very close to the French Broad River which is the only river in North America that flows north and eventually ends in the Mississippi River. It's central location allows visitors easy access to canoeing and kayaking, skiing and snowboarding, fly-fishing and golfing, hiking and climbing, site-seeing and eating at some of the finest restaurants in the Southeast. Take a day to visit the Biltmore House or treat yourself and spend a day at the Spa at GrovePark Inn where you can finish the evening enjoying the sunset on the Inn's terrace. There is so much to do in the Asheville area and Abner's is a great place to unwind whether in front of the fireplace or sitting around the outdoor fire-pit after your day of excursions.
