The NeighborhoodMany small shops are there for basic needs, Carrefour Express and Fathalla Supermarkets are 10:15 minutes riding. The simplest and cheapest way to move around the city is to flag down a microbus; when it slows, shout 'the area’s name'; if it's going that way, it'll stop and you can jump on. Getting AroundZypherion is an awesome place viewing the beach serving Sea-Food - shrimps, calamari, fish, soup, salads, water, bread, rice,… and you can take the leftover for the your next meal. It’s only 10 minutes’ walk East from the flat. At the beach people sell coffee, tea, pepsi, snacks. At 15 minutes riding to the West; stands Montazah Palace Gardens where history meets nature. It was built by Khedive Abbas Helmy ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) as his summer palace, a refuge for when Cairo became too hot. It’s designed in a pseudo-Moorish style, which has been given a Florentine twist with the addition of a tower modeled on one at Florence's Palazzo Vecchio. The palace itself is off-limits but the surrounding lush gardens are prime strolling territory. There’s an attractive sandy cove with a semiprivate beach and a Victorian-style bridge running out to a small island of pylons. In all, it’s a pleasant escape from the city center. To keep this suburb exclusive; authorities charge entry tickets. About 10 minutes ride to the West; Maemoura Beach. There’s a cobblestone boardwalk with a few ice-cream shops and food stalls, but what really makes this feel different from other public beaches is the half-mile between it and the main road, meaning there’s no noisy speedway behind you. The beaches are well kept and the water is beautiful! Most beaches are private for a fee. Or one could walk to boardwalk for free. There is a charge to get into Maemoura subdivision though it is very low.
