The SpaceOur house is around 140 years old and is a large white washed property near the end of a private , sometimes muddy lane . There is a large garden that backs onto the cycle path at the River Leven with a 15 minute walk to Balloch.
We have private and secure off road parking.
We have ample space in our locked garage for bikes and any other outdoor equipment.
The Air B and B room is upstairs and overlooks our garden and the River Leven. There is a shower in your room and you will have your own private bathroom with shower and bath upstairs at the end of the hall from your room. Guest AccessGuests have access to the kitchen , gardens and will have their own key to come and go as you please. Interaction with GuestsMy wife and I work at different times , our cat Jack takes life at a slower pace.
Sometimes we won't be here to cook breakfast , but there will always be plenty of food in the fridge , just help yourself to whatever you see.
I grew up in West Dunbartonshire and should be able to answer most questions on the local area.
My wife Luz is from El Salvador and is fluent in Spanish and French.
The house and gardens are quite spacious so whether you're feeling sociable or want some time alone it's easy to be flexible. The NeighborhoodAlexandria is a small , simple town in the Vale of Leven . The town is situated on the River Leven, four miles (6 km) north-west of Dumbarton.
Supermarkets and train station are only a few minutes walk away.
Balloch is one stop , two minutes by train and is the gateway to Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park. It has a Tourist Information Centre and a selection of bars and restaurants , several having live music.
Dumbarton is 5 minutes by train and is a town on the River Clyde, west of Glasgow.
Founded in the fifth century, Dumbarton was once the capital of the ancient Kingdom of Strathclyde. The key to the town’s original success was the volcanic rock, which is now home to Dumbarton Castle. Getting AroundThe local train station is less than 5 minutes walk from the house. There are 2 trains an hour to Glasgow and Balloch . In Dumbarton you can also connect to the West Highland Line for services to Oban , Fort William and Mallaig.
There are frequent buses for shorter trips and good road connections to Glasgow Airport which is 25 minutes away.
We have a large , secure off street parking area if you arrive by car.
