The SpaceOur family property has been exclusive for 45 years. We have fully remodeled the main house, but left some original pieces for country charm. The guest house was added 10 years ago. Please note: the airbnb calendar is the most up-to-date. Our country compound is a private friends & family retreat, not a “proper" resort. We are carrying on the proud 50-plus year history of reconnecting people to the simple pleasures of simple times in a no-frills, recreational country setting. Remember, you're not just renting beautiful lodging, you'll also have access to the grounds, private beach, woods, private spaces like a backwoods tree house, campfire pit, sports courts, boats, canoes, smokers, grills, etc. Again, we are not a "proper" resort, so if you require an immediate response, lots of hand-holding and attention to detail, then this just might not be the best fit for you. OK, you've been warned : ) Thanks. What should I bring you ask? For starters, the basics. A few beach towels. Some Deep Woods Off. Sunscreen. And flip flops. As for food shop local. Stock up at the local Meijers in town. Bring an empty cooler and fill it up to rest on the sundeck or beach. Bring your food and booze for appetites and budgets of all sizes. Even the nearby Oakley store has bait, food, wine, ice, booze and beer too. Again, this is not a "proper" resort, it is a private, friends-and-family retreat that is making the true country available on a very limited basis. All guests will be asked to sign a release of liability. Maximum number of guests must be agreed upon before booking. The main house has a 1st floor queen bedroom and bath. The upstairs in the main house has a full bath and over sized lofts with a queen and three twins with trundles. The space is all shared, so if you want privacy then check into a hotel. There is a three season room in the main house and a full sized kitchen. The guest house is not included in this listing. Guest AccessThe new barn on the property will be locked for but the old barn is open to explore. The waiver also covers the boats and paddleboard. The hand peeled log cabin on the property is not for use. The guest house will be locked for this listing. There is a gas grill on the main house deck. Snowmobiles are welcome in the winter. Interaction with GuestsWe have a self check in procedure for the buildings. We all reside in Illinois, so the property will be completely private to your party. My local neighbor friend will be available should you have any questions or concerns. The NeighborhoodOur property is very private and close to nature yet close to downtown Grand Haven Getting AroundI suggest a good GPS as you will be out in the country. Grand Haven is about 8 miles away. Other Things to NoteWe have kept this property exclusive for 45 years. It is a wonderful time to share our natural gem yet we ask in turn to respect our property as it is your own during your stay. Robinson Township can be very dark at night please use caution. Mosquitoes are present in the summer months so bring mosquito repellent. Note this is a large, wooded lot on a natural lake. During certain times of the year you may encounter: poison ivy, poison oak, insects, snakes, weeds in the lake, raccoons, foxes, wild turkeys, bad weather, deer, skunks, etc. These are part of country life.

There are great mountain bike trails in the Bass Recreation Area just 1 mile up the road. Fishing is great in our lake. You'll catch large mouth bass, sunfish, bluegill and rockbass. Please bring your own fishing poles. The springs keep the lake refreshing all year and the four aerators keep the water moving continuously. The SpaceThis quiet house is snuggled back away from the Leonard boulevard with a beautiful view of the river and grazing horses. The homes' history suggests it used to be a carriage house! The main house used to be a parsonage, but behind the main house is our carriage (guest) house, so the servants quarters would have been above the lower carriage storage on the second floor. This is where you, our house guests, will sleep. There is a fully furnished kitchen and full bath (shower only) with comfortable seating on the upper and main floors. Outdoor seating behind the house and on the back patio helps you relax while watching nature and listening to the outdoor sounds. Within walking distance to the local Lamont Park and historical cemetery, you can take short walks around our little town. The pool, fire pit and sports court are available for our guests. Horseback rides are also available upon request for an extra fee. Guest AccessYou will have access to the pool along with our family and friends. You will have access to the river for fishing, and the horses and the sports court. Interaction with GuestsWe are ready and willing to help you out with anything you might need. Both of us work from home and know the area well. Please visit our Youtube page for a link to our walk through video. Search for: Photosphere Entertainment We are not allowed by AirBnB to post a link on their page. The NeighborhoodWe live in a small community along the river with a church, post office and a park. Our boulevard has a 35 mile/hour speed limit and seems as though it is still set back in time as you drive through. Getting AroundMany of our guest have rented a car, but Uber has become quite popular. If you need a ride, please text for arrangements. Other Things to NoteThis separate home is behind ours and is quite secluded from our home. The back patio is peaceful and quiet with a view of the horses all day long.
