Tucked away from the main road yet convenient for shops, restaurants and pubs. Self contained accommodation to be let for a minimum of two nights, ideally for one week. The accommodation consists of a private entrance lobby with washing machine/drier. Stairs lead up to the open plan living room/kitchen. The kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge and the usual electrical equipment, china and flatware. Off the living area is a separate large bathroom with freestanding bath with shower attachment, wc and wash basin. Stairs lead off the living room up to the double bedroom. All bedding, towels, tea towels are included in the rental. There is central heating throughout. Alresford is centrally located within Hampshire and is an ideal location if planning trips to Winchester, South coast, New Forest, South Downs National Park etc. There is private, separate guest access at the rear of the property. Private parking for one car at the front. Unfortunately there is no garden access but good walking within the vicinity. This is a self contained apartment and we are happy to give help and advise whenever requested. We live in the adjoining property. This quintessential Georgian market town has been transformed in recent years by an influx of boutique style shops, restaurants, coffee houses and gastro pubs. There are easy bus connections to Winchester and Alton. Alresford is also the terminus for the Watercress steam railway. Winchester is only 8 miles to the west. Southampton 12 miles to the south. The NeighborhoodQuintessential Georgian market town that has been transformed in recent years by an influx of boutique style shops, restaurants, coffee houses and gastro pubs. Getting AroundThere are easy bus connections to Winchester and Alton. Alresford is also the terminus for the Watercress steam railway. Winchester is only 8 miles to the west. Southampton 12 miles to the south. The New Forest and south coast both easily accessable. Other Things to NoteThe toilet cistern is a high level Victorian renovated model. There is a knack in flushing! Sharp tug and quick release. Unfortunately there are two flights of stairs and the flat would be problematic for anyone with mobility difficulties. Equally, both these staircases open onto or lead from the living room/kitchen. There are no stair-gates and the flat is therefore not suitable for toddlers or young children.

Lovely 200 year old cottage on the South Downs. Exposed wooden beams. Wooden floors. Two log burning stoves. You'll need to light them if you get cold. Three double beds; two iron and one brass (very high). A lovely garden with a large timber frame undercover area for eating outdoors whilst you look over the fields around you. Fabulous views. Very cosy and snug. Parking. A true sanctuary. The Cycle Sanctuary is located in the South Downs National Park, on top of the South Downs, 100 metres from the South Downs Way long distance footpath and cycleway. It is set in an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' (AONB). It's a beautiful part of the world. The cottage is in the small village of Beauworth (Pronounced 'Bew-worth') which has just 90 residents. It is the second smallest village in Hampshire with just a church and a 400 year old pub, The Milburys, just 200 metres from the cottage and serving delicious food and beer. When the weather turns cold, the pub has a huge open fire to keep you warm. It also has a cat called Bob, who's clearly eaten too much, a very friendly landlord and a 100 metre (300 feet) deep well. The well is amazing. The cottage is surrounded by open countryside of arable fields, growing mostly wheat and barley. The views from the cottage are fabulous, looking down from the South Downs towards Bramdean House, a beautiful large country house with magnificent gardens run by the National Trust. Further away from the cottage: 7 miles - Bishops Waltham has a beautiful partially ruined palace and gardens 8 miles - the beautiful town of Alresford (Pronounced 'Alls-fud', well known for it's steam trains on the Watercress Line 8 miles - Marwell Zoo 9 miles - the beautiful medieval city of Winchester. The SpaceOur attic room is a truly lovely space with dormer windows offering light and views over the treetops. There is an en-suite shower room as well as a small breakfast / tea and coffee area. We've decided to put a sofa bed in there so that it can be packed away during the daytime, giving a nice space to relax or work in if wanted. Guest AccessYou'll be able to access the room and it's en-suite facilities and the hallways and stairs leading to the attic room but not the rest of the house. The facilities are for bed and breakfast only. Interaction with GuestsGenerally we'll be around and available to welcome guests and help them with local information and suggestions. We will also provide fresh breakfast daily. The NeighborhoodNew Alresford and the surrounding area have loads to offer - from the arts and culture to walking and cycling, from gastronomy to retail therapy. It's a gorgeous place to live and to visit; too much to list here - but please do ask if you'd like more information about any particular interest or hankering. Getting AroundParking is free, unreserved, on-street. We never have trouble finding a place less than 50m from home and mostly just outside. There's a bus stop at the bottom of the road for Winchester and Alton - both with mainline national railway station.. The Watercress Railway will take you to Ropley and Alton too. Other Things to NoteWe do have a dog, however, he only lives downstairs and so won't disturb your stay in any way.

Guest AccessGuests will have access to the whole house and garden. Interaction with GuestsDepending on when you book we may or may not be around. In either case, we know the area well and can offer advice and travel tips and will leave information in the house about the local area. The NeighborhoodThis is a great house for accessing both the gorgeous local Hampshire countryside (we're fine with muddy boots and bikes etc) as well as a nice saunter into town along a tree lined avenue for tapas or a pint. In Alresford you'll also find our gorgeous steam railway - the Watercress Line. There are also fantastic shops, cafes and restaurants as well as many independent local shops - notably the lovely independent booksellers Oxley's. We love coffee at Caracoli and ice cream at Tiffin's Tea Rooms. A drink in the Globe's lakeside gardens on a summers evening is a must and both Indian restaurants serve great food. The new Pulpo Negro tapas restaurant on Broad Street is a classy treat and really it's all just fun to explore. And the great thing is you can safely and easily walk it all off on the way back afterwards! Getting AroundAlresford town is a pleasant ten minute walk along a tree lined avenue. There is on street parking. Regular buses to Winchester from the bottom of the road. Easy access to South Downs, Wayfarers and other walks. London is a couple of hours away by car or car / train. Other Things to NoteThe town is pronounced AllsFord - spelt Alresford - and is on the River Arle (also spelt correctly, if differently). The house is in a quiet residential neighbourhood so we request that you respect neighbours peace also from about 10.30/11pm - all the neighbours are lovely and friendly.

The SpaceIt's huge and private. The rural setting makes this a very peaceful and relaxed place to be, with fantastic walks right outside the door. Yet it's only minutes from Alresford where there are shops, banks, doctor and dentist and a wide range for fantastic places to eat or enjoy tea and cakes. Guest AccessA fully equipped kitchen, TV and Wi Fi. Breakfast goods are provided for guests to prepare as they wish. Tea and Coffee is always available. Garage space for bicycles and walking equipment. Secure but not locked. Store at own risk - but it's a VERY safe area. Interaction with GuestsApart fro saying 'hello' we believe guests enjoy privacy. The annexe is joined to our house so we are always on hand, but other than that you are free to come and go as you wish. The NeighborhoodThis village is quintessentially English. It's hugely sought after and popular with walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. The larger village of Alresford is 10 mins walk or 2 mins drive away. With some of the finest food, dining and niche shopping in Hampshire. Winchester is just 6 miles away and a 'must see' tourist attraction. Getting AroundBuses are infrequent from Old Alresford but 10 mins walk to Alresford provides plenty of bus services to Winchester, Southampton, Basingstoke and Alton. Other Things to NoteIt's a character house. We have many amenities but not all are state of the art. The central heating is warm but the boiler can be a bit noisy. There is no double glazing but the windows are large and airy. You are staying in a place with character and space, not pristine homogeneity.
