The SpaceThis is a generous sized, private room separate from main house. The space includes a queen bed, attached bathroom with walk-in shower, a small refrigerator, microwave, free wifi, heating and air conditioning (controlled in room), cable and several closets. There is no access to a kitchen. We provide driveway parking. The home is located ½ mile from the charming and historic community of Ambler, with several notable theatres, restaurants and shopping venues. It is also ½ mile from the R5 trainline (Ambler Station) which is about a 25-30 min ride to Center City, including Reading Terminal Market, the Constitution Center, the Art Museum, etc. We are also very close to several college campuses, including Temple University-Ambler campus, Chestnut Hill College, Gwynedd Mercy University, Montgomery County Community College and many other places of higher learning. Ambler is a vibrant community with rich history and several places of interest, but the room itself is serene, private and charming. Guest AccessGuests have access to the yard and to the room itself. There is a construction project currently underway in the main house so we request that for their own safety, the guests restrict their presence to the guest room until further notice. Interaction with GuestsThis is up to the guest. The lovely advantage of this space is that while it is attached to the main house, it has its own entrance and it is separate. This allows guests to interact with the family if they choose to, or guests can simply retire to their room for peaceful, quiet repose. It is heavily insulated, so guests can be confident that they will not be disturbed by household noises. The NeighborhoodThe beautiful Wissahickon Watershed Park runs past the end of our street. This park meets up with the Wissahickon Valley Park – including nature trails, creek, jogging/biking trails and wooden-covered bridges just 5 miles from our home. The property is nestled between historic and protected farmlands, and state owned nature preserves (Four Mills Nature Preserve, Armentrout Preserve, and Ft. Washington State Park) while also maintaining easy access to main shopping and tourist areas. Ambler boasts that it is “friendly small town covering less than a square mile in area with a stable population of 6400. It has convenient public transportation accessibility, municipal parks & recreation facilities and a "walkable" downtown commercial district that make it an ideal location for living, working and playing”. SEPTA's regional train that services the neighborhood is called the R5 – Lansdale-Paoli Line and the local train station (Ambler Station) is located just ½ mile from your room. This train will take you downtown to the Pennsylvania Convention Center and Historic District in about 25-30 minutes. SEPTA's Route 94 Bus stops 1 block from your room and takes you to several different locations, including the Plymouth Meeting mall, Montgomeryville, and Chestnut Hill shopping areas. The room is also located less than 5 miles from the PA turnpike. Other Things to NotePlease note that while we love animals, and in fact have two dogs of our own, pets are not permitted in the room. In fact the studio is state of the moment in recording technology. You need to understand. Many famous artists and players have recorded here. They prefer a private place, where they will not be bothered by the general public. They value this space because of this privacy and the completely chill vibe. It is a known creative space. The control room is the hub of studio activity. This is where it all comes together – literally. All the multi channel microphone cables come to the control room and are fed into the 120 input recording / mixing console. From there to a sophisticated custom built computer system. The control room is comfortable, features a bamboo floor and features a vintage 1970s couch. From here, look down through the glass on one of the studios where the playing and recording happen. Attached to the main studio is the drum booth featuring one of the best drum kits on the planet. Exit the studio and you are in the back porch featuring the bar and hot tub. A great place to relax and take breaks in between takes. Through the back door you’ll enter the utility area which features the laundry area, small kitchen, and bathroom. On the other side you’ll enter the piano studio. Connected to the control room, you can play the vintage upright grand or the modern electronic piano. Either way you’ll get great sounds. A nice place to come home to after a long busy day experiencing the many wonderful sights in and about the Philadelphia area. You can relax out back on a private deck, or on the front porch or visit one of our fabulous local restaurants only minutes away in Ambler, PA or in the quaint town of Chestnut Hill.
