The SpaceCosy & fully Self Contained cottage with most of the comforts of home with an open plan kitchen, living and dining area. Macrocarpa lined walls in the living area, grown and milled from off the farm. Living area flows out on to the deck so you can enjoy your morning coffee and breakfast, take in the fresh air and wait for the sun to come over the range and greet you. Enjoy relaxing out on the sun soaked deck at the end of the day and take in the views of our farm. It is now operated by Karl and Tellic Evans, it has been run by the Evans family since 1864. We are the 7th generation. We love this farm and enjoy the opportunity to share it with you. When it is warm enough for you swim In the creek 150m away, the hot days can be spent paddling in the shallows, building dams and spying fishlife eels and koura (fresh water cray fish) Further upstream swimmers can jump off the bank and swim in the 3m deep hole. More swimming can be done at the waterfalls too - 3 of them - lovely native bush to walk through. Tramping choices on the farm range from 1 to 6 hours - through bush, grassland and up into the mountains for amazing views of the Pacific Ocean and Hauraki Gulf. The SpaceThis accommodation is off grid with solar lighting, candles and a gas calafont with continuous hot water for the kitchen and shower. We are located right in the village near the Colville General Store, cafe and the tennis courts. The beach is just a few minutes away. There is lots of great fishing and hiking in the area. We have tent sites and a small van site available for larger groups at an extra cost of $15 per adult, $5 per child. Guest AccessThe front yard is the area you will have access to , as the rest of the property is our private home. Interaction with GuestsThe caravan/tent area is set up to be self sufficient from our home, so no interaction is required from you or us.But someone is usually around to help, if need be, or just a phone call away. The SpaceFarmland and native bush surround our home. Its very quiet with great views of the off shore islands and coastline. Interaction with GuestsWe are around most of the time to answer any questions or to help out, but after your initial arrival will leave you to your own amusements. The NeighborhoodCoromandel is a very popular summer time destination for many. We have no neighbours just great views, peace and quiet. Other Things to NoteSometimes a GPS will take you past our house. Look for the large 893 on our white brick letter box. Good internet access.

                            even the drive to Waitete Bay is something else, the magic of pure native NZ as it winds up the west side of the stunning Coromandel, weaving its way through small settlements, hugging the immediate coastline. This property is 8kms south of the the Colville Store and Green Snapper Cafe (cafe usually closed in winter) and 18kms north of Coromandel township, which has many great eating places and quality NZ craft shops, awesome coffee.... The land is grazed each month, so there may be cows very close by. You can hire a fishing charter from Anglers Lodge (2 minutes away),or grab a water taxi ride out the the islands for some rock fishing, or fish from the rocks down at the beach.                                 Our 2 bedroom house with 2 adjoining rooms, has equal amounts of character and comfort! Perfect for friends, family and club get-togethers (4 other houses available for accommo too)..The house is cool in summer but cosy warm in winter especially with the woodstove cranked up ! (The 2nd bathroom is outside and joined onto the back of the house - 10?m away) There's no deck but the BBQ tables on the lawn outside are perfect for supping on a wine or two and star-gazing at night (no light pollution here!!) Or during the day, look at those amazing views of cattle grazing on the paddocks with the backdrop of the mountains. In the creek 150m away, the hot days can be spent paddling in the shallows, building dams and spying fishlife. Further upstream, swimmers can jump off the bank and swim in the 3m deep hole. More swimming can be done at the waterfalls too - 3 of them - lovely native bush to go through. Tramping choices on the farm range from 1 to 6 hours - through bush, grassland and up into the mountains for amazing views of the Pacific Ocean and Hauraki Gulf. And it's only 2-10 mins drive away from the beach, cafes, general store, farm store, art & craft shops, medical centre, library and tennis courts. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space (1260ha of it) and the equal amounts of character and comfort. My place is good for families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets).
