The villa is in the small Swedish community of Orchid Village, in an area with 34 other houses. The area has two big pools with children pool and Jacuzzi and it's just 700 yards to the calm, beautiful beach with gorgeous soft sand and sea bottom. Nearest shop and restaurant is a couple of hundred yards from the villa and it's an additional some hundred yards to the centre of Huai Yang with many shops and restaurants where everything is very cheap. The villa has a big terrace where you can enjoy the warm evenings and 6 miles from the village lays a national park that is known for its beautiful waterfalls and nice nature. If you want to relax and take it easy in a relaxing environment this is the place for you.
The villa is built 2005 and lies in an area that is called Orchid IV that consists of 35 houses and two pools. Orchid IV is one of six similar areas that together form Orchid Village. There are several other such villages around in Ban Huai Yang, all built by Thailandfastigheter and mainly owned by Swedes.
The house is a so-called "van nam" -house. It has a large bedroom with double bed and several closets and a smaller bedroom with a 150 cm bed for two. In addition, a toilet with shower and a combined living room and kitchen with a dining table and four chairs and a sofa with two armchairs and table.
The house is 63 sqm including a 9-square-meter terrace, which is furnished with a table and four armchairs. It is equipped with everything you need to make your holiday a pleasant one. There are linens and towels in the house and there is a fully equipped kitchen with dishes for four people, coffee maker, frying pan, pots and toaster. Fridge, freezer and stove, of course.
The roof covered terrace has a table with four chairs, one reclining chair, two foldable extra chairs and a ceiling fan. From there you have a view over the nearest pool and the garden with palms, lime, orange and banana trees. The villa has air condition and all windows, doors and drainage is protected by nets. The Villa is cleaned thoroughly every two weeks, the garden is looked after regularly.
Electricity according to use is paid at location. Very cheap.
Ban Huai Yang is a cosy little fishing village where you always meet happy and smiling Thais in a quiet and rural environment, 200 miles south of Bangkok and 250 miles north of Phuket. The fishing in the village starts after sunset, between six and seven, when the sea is filled by the light from the lanterns of the fishing boats. The village has no hotel and is genuine and relatively unexploited, apart from the small tourist villages that's scattered around the area. The never ending beach is free from hordes of tourists and apart from an occasional tourist outside one of the few resorts and the children that usually come down after school and dive from the pier, you can have the beach almost entirely for yourself.
In the village centre there are many shops and restaurants. There is also a pharmacy, post-office, travel agent, railway station, bus station, Internet cafĂŠ, laundry, several markets and much more. The village also has two Buddhist temples.
Huai Yang is a paradise for sun and bath. Orchid Village has its own beach and there is a footpath the entire way there. It's shallow and the sand and bottom is soft and nice. The water is crystal clear, warm and nice the year around, and among the finest swimming waters in all of Thailand. In connection to the beach is a beach restaurant. If you want to jump and dive you can go some hundred yards to the north to the pier that lies outside Jack's Resort.
If you want to dive for real or snorkel there's a tremendous underwater world to explore. Equipment and boat can be rented in the village or in the marine reserve of Wannakorn beach two miles north of Huai Yang. Guided diving tours to different islands and reefs depart from many places along the coast. Among others to Similan Iceland that is regarded as one of the worlds three greatest diving waters. Immediately south of Prachuap Khiri Khan there is a very nice aquarium, Waghor Aquarium, for those of you that want to see the underwater world without having to dive.
Up in the mountains that stretches 1500 yards above sea level lies Namtok Huai Yang national park that's regarded as one of Thailand 's most beautiful. Here there are rainforest and fantastic waterfalls. Animals you can get to see include elephants, leopards, langur, gibbon and wild boar. The Park is very well-managed with restaurants, toilets and resting places.
Apart from the beach restaurant and Jack's Resort there are several restaurants in connection to Orchid Village. And downtown is even more. It is amazingly cheap. An entirely decent meal can cost up to 1 euro and a more luxurious one about 3. A restaurant I can highly recommend is Kob seafood restaurant that lays a couple of hundred yards inwards country from Jack's Resort. The staff is very nice and the food is tremendous. If you rather want to make your own food there is plenty of shops that sell food, beverage and alcohol.
Fresh products you can buy in any of the markets. There are a few in Ban Huai Yang, and in Prachuap Khiri Khan and Hua Hin there is even more and bigger. A very special market exists in Dansingkorn some ten miles northwest of Huai Yang on the border of Burma. Thais and tourist mustn't pass over the border to Burma but the merchants from Burma can cross with their products. They sell fantastic furniture cut from a sole wooden piece, gems, jewellery, jars and many other beautiful things.
If you want to relax and take it easy in a wonderful environment this is the place for you.
