~ OFF STREET Parking ~ in my private, level paved driveway, right outside front entrance. One vehicle per reservation please. No trailers.
~ Your private full bathroom with shower/tub includes an array of toiletries ~ shampoos, soaps, lotions & gels, shower cap, wash cloths, extra towels in the cabinet, bath mats, hair dryer and a magazine rack full of reading content. Feel free to use whatever you need.
~ This is an Airbnb SELF-CATERING establishment ~ Bring your own food items, or visit one of our great cafes during your stay. There is room ~ just for you~ in my refrigerator, freezer and pantry.
~ Complimentary Beverages available: Coffee / Tea / Hot Chocolate / Water / Ice. Help yourself to the Keurig for single cup servings, the 12 cup coffee pot, teapot, filtered water in refrigerator, and cubed ice in the freezer drawer. Guest Access~ HOME SHARE ~ the fully equipped KITCHEN for any cooking & dining, the GREAT ROOM with comfortable seating for reading, conversation or wifi surfing, the DEN with cable television for evening news or "must see" shows, and a lovely, backyard PATIO to chill. My southern exposure backyard is a "sea of green", a Certified Backyard Wildlife Sanctuary with visits from our island deer, bunnies, squirrels and a variety of interesting birds. Interaction with Guests~ I highly respect the PRIVACY of my guests. As this is my primary residence, I am around most evenings & weekends quietly relaxing. I will be happy to assist you if need be with ferry strategy, whale-watching tour choices, or a travel itinerary for your time here in the San Juan Islands.

The Neighborhood~ Nestled in the forestlands, this tree-hugging, UPSCALE neighborhood is conveniently located just 8 minutes ~2.5 miles to the downtown core~ within ANACORTES city limits. it is a quiet, safe, woodsy place, with large, beautiful landscaped yards, underground utilities, off street parking, natural common areas and buffers.
~The closest convenience store to my place is ~ "The Store" ~ 1.8 miles, located at "top" of Commercial Avenue & 37th Street. Supermarkets - Safeway & The Market are 2.5 miles. See my Guidebook for listing. Getting Around~Private transportation is HIGHLY recommended. A convenient, mid-town city location makes it so easy for a quick drive to the downtown core, the ferry landing, or a day of hiking in the nearby parks and trails. Enjoy a great overnight location ~ if your travel plans include boarding the morning ferries to the San Juan's ~ a 10 minute drive~. My place is also a convenient overnight waypoint for your travels to Port Townsend via the Keystone Ferry in Coupeville ~a 1 hour drive~ on neighboring Whidbey Island.
~ The year-round ANACORTES FERRY TERMINAL Washington State San Juan's Island Ferries & Vancouver Island is just 5 miles north ~ a 10 MINUTE drive. WA State's most visited park - Deception Pass State Park ~ is 6 miles south ~a 12 MINUTE drive.
~ Fidalgo Island is road accessible to the mainland by twin bridges to the east and connected to Whidbey Island by way of Deception Pass bridge to the south. It sits in the rain shadow of the Olympic Peninsula. If coming to Anacortes from Seattle, consider taking the "scenic route" the Mukilteo-Clinton ferry north and drive up Whidbey Island and across Deception Pass.
~Anacortes, WA is just 20 minutes West of Interstate 5 ~ Exit 230 on to West Hwy 20 in Burlington, WA. We are half way between ~Seattle, WA (is 1.5 hours south) and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada ( is 1.5 hours north).
~Anacortes does have taxi service, scooter, bike, car, kayak & yacht rental options. The Airporter shuttle bus service has pick up locations in town for direct rides to both SEA-TAC and Bellingham International Airport locations. There is also public transportation in town to Mount Vernon's transit center for Greyhound bus and Amtrak train service, or transit bus service to Seattle. Other Things to Note~ "A-TOWN" is known for its arts and vibrant music scene. There are live music venues, and many cool festivals & events year-round, plenty of casual cafes to elegant dining, quirky to sophisticated shopping, and creativity galore, from art galleries to antique shops.
~There are a lot of hiking & walking trails right here on Fidalgo Island! Check out Washington Park, Mt. Erie, Tommy Thompson's beach trail, Sare's Head, Deception Pass, and the Anacortes Community Forestlands ~Heart Lake, Whistle Lake & Cranberry Lake. So many options!
