Frangipani House is set in an acre of land offering magnificent views across the paddy fields and tropical forests.
The house offers peace and tranquility . Relaxing beds and hammocks are provided on the terrace where you can observe the wildlife, many monkeys and SrI Lanka's exotic birds.
Chants from the nearby Yatagala Budhist Temple can often be heard in the distance. The temple is within walking distance from the house.
The villa consists of 2 double bedrooms with en suites and 3rd bedroom has 2 single beds also with en suite. 2nd bathroom has an electric shower as well as a cold water shower. All bedrooms have mosquito nets and thick, comfortable mattresses. Ceiling fans in all bedrooms.
Kitchen is well equipped with gas cooker and electric oven, and microwave oven. Kitchen has a fridge/freezer with ice making compartment. Rice cooker, kettle, toaster, smoothie maker, microwave and iron are available.
UK electric sockets and continental sockets are in the house. A small hair dryer is available .
Living room has a comfortable seating area with thick cushions, satellite TV, DVD player and WI Fi available. Ceiling fan in place.
Dining area is situated outside on the terrace and seats 6 people. Ceiling fans on terrace.
All bed linen and towels are provided. The house is cleaned each day.
The high beamed ceilings allow gentle breezes to flow through the house providing shelter from the midday heat.
A chef is available if required.
The Vila is located inland, a short distance from all amenities including the local supermarkets.
It is approximately 10 minutes drive from the Southern Expressway and 2 to 2 and a half hours from Bandaranaike Airport traffic permitting.
A short ride in a tuk tuk (three wheeler taxi) approximately 10-15 minutes will take you to Unawatuna beach, one of the many beautiful beaches in Sri Lanka. Unawatuna has some great restaurants and bars on the sandy beach with safe swimming and snorkelling. Scuba diving can also be organised from here.
Unawatuna has many interesting gift shops and jewellers who sell amazing designs at reasonable prices.
For the more energetic, mountain bikes can be hired and bicycle tours arranged.
Galle, the capital of the Southern province is approximately 15-20minutes away in a tuk tuk or scooter. The railway and bus station are situated in Galle's town centre. Amazing fruit, fish and spice markets can be found in the town centre. Western style supermarkets are also available here.
The Galle Fort and Rampart are of great interest with an old world charm. The architecture of the grand old buildings, street names and Dutch churches bear witness to its past.
The cricket ground can also be found here and there are great views to this from the Rampart.
