This two-story cedar clapboard house was built by the owner in 2005 as a year-round retirement home. The main floor features a spacious open concept living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen and a pantry. The dining room patio door opens to a large deck with a view of the ocean. The main floor also includes a large bedroom and 4-piece bathroom with washer and dryer and linen cabinets. There are ceramic tiles throughout the living area and bathroom and pine flooring in the bedroom.
Pine stairs lead to the second floor that offers two spacious bedrooms and a 3-piece bathroom. Skylights and large windows provide ample light and views of the surrounding areas. There is pine flooring in the bedrooms and tiles in the bathroom. The house is heated with in-floor electric heat in all of the living areas and bathrooms and there are electric baseboard heaters in the bedrooms. In addition, there is a woodstove in the living room.
Additional features include high-speed internet access, a TV, house linens, dinnerware, cooking and baking ware, and a dishwasher and freezer in the pantry. Lawn mowing will be the owner's responsibility. Housekeeping services can be provided upon request and at the going rate. No smoking and no pets. Please note that there is poor cell phone reception in this area.The basic rate is for double occupancy; there is a $10.00/night charge per extra person to a maximum of 6 people per rental. the Provincial sales tax HST of 15% is not included in this rate. We require one week cancellation notice for deposit to be refunded.You will enjoy this ideal vacation property located off the Sunrise Trail in still pristine Livingstone Cove, Antigonish County. The house is nested in the middle of overgrown pastures and clumps of spruce trees. The view is exceptional: hills all around and the waters of the nearby Northumberland Strait. The Livingstone Cove beach is only a few minutes walk away and there are several other beaches and fishing wharves within a short driving distance. Other points of interest include the Cape George lighthouse, School House, and walking trails, as well as a provincial park and fossils in Arisaig, the rocks of Crystal Cliff, and music festivals in historic churches and artistsâ?? studios. The town of Antigonish is home to St. Francis Xavier University, the Antigonish Peopleâ??s Place Library, the Highland Games in July and the Antigonish Theatre Summer Festival. Antigonish offers various shopping amenities and several restaurants and is only a 20-minute drive away. Cape Breton and Halifax are close enough for day trips.
