The SpaceHacienda del Mar is the perfect place to to get away from the grind and connect with nature. From your hammock, enjoy the vistas of the ocean, the volcanos in the distance, and the hundreds of tropical birds all around.
Hacienda del Mar was rehabbed from a 50+ year-old cotton barn, keeping the integrity of the original rustic design structure yet adding modern and updated features. The house and has all the conveniences you need such as WiFi, air conditioning in two bedrooms, brand new comfortable beds and linens, and a fully equipped "cooks" kitchen.
There is an upper loft area (perfect for yoga!), a catwalk around the entire upper level of the house, and large wrap around porch with 4 hammocks, 4 lounge chairs and plenty of hang out space. There is an additional outside cooking area with a charcoal and propane grill, sink and plenty of counter space and bar.
There are 3 bedrooms in total; two bedrooms have A/C, comfortable King size beds, a desk, a closet with shelving for clothing, and an ensuite bathroom in each. There is an additional half bath, and an outside shower - originally an old grain silo made out of a giant tree trunk!
The third bedroom is a small room, with a twin-size bed, and night stand. The room has a fan, and if you leave the door to the adjoining bedroom open, the AC unit in the master, cools down that room as well. There is a door joining the two bedrooms, and it also has a door to the living room.
The whole upper level is a loft with beautiful wide planked hardwood floors. There is a bed and ceiling fan, but we have not included it as a "bedroom" because of lack of privacy.
The home sits on 9 acres of land, that leads down to the beach. From the house to the beach is just a 400 meter walk down the driveway. The property is full of fruit trees for you to enjoy - limes, sour oranges, mandarins, grapefruit, passion fruit, dragon fruit, guava, mangos, cashew and avocado!
Northern Nicaragua is an adventurer's paradise. SUP paddle board in one of the largest protected Estuaries in the country, hike enchanting volcanoes, surf uncrowded waves, or go horseback riding down pristine beaches. We can arrange fishing trips, at home massages, pedicures and more!
There are a handful of restaurants in the area if you don't feel like cooking, or we can arrange help with meal preparation. Also, daily housekeeping is included (except for sundays).
Relax, surf uncrowded waves, swim at secluded beaches and enjoy the pristine beauty and authenticity of Northern Nicaragua! Guest AccessYou have access to just about everything. There is a washing machine in our storage closet but we would prefer our housekeeper use it for you - just let her know that you would like your clothes or linens washed and she will take care of it. Housekeeping comes daily (mon-Sat) from 8-12 to clean. The whole property is yours to explore, just be sure to close the gate at the bottom of the hill so our horse does not leave. The 2 dogs, "Jefe" and "Sky" are very friendly, but please do not let them in the house. They will come to the beach with you, - they are great companions on a walk or run. The caretaker, will come up to the house to feed the dogs twice a day, and he is also responsible for landscaping. If you would like to use the surfboards, boogie boards, sand toys, and other toys, you are welcome to them. Interaction with GuestsI am available throughout your stay via telephone, text or email. The NeighborhoodManzano Dos is a small, hard-working community, mainly agricultural or fishing based. We have been a part of the community for over 5 years, and have lived in Nicaragua for over 10. The beach is just in front of our property, a short 400 meter walk down the driveway from the house. The beach is one of the longest, flattest most beautiful beaches in the country. There are a handful of restaurants around, one even serves up delicious thin crust pizza and it's only a 10 minute drive. The grocery store is 45 minutes away in Chinandega, so its best to stock up there on your way in. Locally, however, you can buy fish off of the fisherman, or stop at the local "pulperia" or, town store, to pick up sundry items like oil, rice, beans and a few vegetables. You can also buy drinking water and propane at the local store as well. Getting AroundOur beach house is about 3 hours from Managua, 1.5 hours from Leon, 45 minutes from Chinandega, and 15 minutes from the Marina Puesta del Sol. I can arrange transportation from the airport, but it might be best to rent a car for getting around. Other Things to NoteThere are a number of surf breaks in the area. If this is of interest we can send you a summary of the breaks and maps of their locations.
If you would like to go on any tours (hiking volcanos, kayaking, horseback riding, surf tours) we can put you in contact with reputable tour operators. I can also help arrange a massage, or pedicures at the house!
Very infrequently, there are power outages and they usually only last for a few hours.
