The SpaceWe have a beautiful "green" home that is open, peaceful, and welcoming. The guest master suite is 250 sq. feet with its own sliding glass door AND dog-door onto a separate deck. The bedroom has its own TV with cable. We think it fits comfortably two parents with two small children. We use only biodegradable and non-toxic cleaners and house has solar panels for electric and hot water. We have planted mostly local plants which attract hummingbirds, owls, and dragonflies. We have fresh herbs, veggies, and many fruit trees including fig, lemon, orange, and grapefruit. The back yard is open to guests and is large with BBQ, hammock, chickens, jacuzzi, and games like lawn bowling, bat mitten and croquet and a creek and is fully fenced for dogs. In the house, guests can access living room, dining room and gourmet kitchen. We love people and will interact as much or as little as they like. Completely rebuilt in 2000 home in quiet 1960's neighborhood with mature trees and each house is unique with fairly large lots. Safe area to run and take long walks. Just 3 miles from the American River Parkway where 26 miles of trails along the wild and scenic American River for hiking, biking, or sitting and enjoying the wildlife. Bus line is 1/4 mile away on Marconi Avenue and will take you straight to the light rail station and downtown in 30 minutes without a car. Guest AccessYou can come and go from the side gate straight onto your deck and room without going through the front door or use the front door if you prefer. Guests with motorcycles can safely park them in the garage or behind the gate on the side of the house. Interaction with GuestsWe are very friendly and like people but understand others need for privacy and space so we leave it up to the guests how much interaction they would like. We are happy to share the kitchen for meals if desired. We are also walking close to McDonald's, Carl's Jr., KFC, Panda Express, Taco Bell, and other sit-down restaurants. Our bedroom is at the other end of the house so we would interact in the kitchen and living area but have separate space too. The NeighborhoodWe live in a quiet 1960's neighborhood with larger lots, old trees, and every house is different. Our house is on the highest ground and where the owner of the old olive orchard this neighborhood was built on lived. We have a creek in the back yard. Across the street is a Catholic church and elementary school. It is very safe here. Getting AroundThe bus line is just a 5 minute walk to Marconi Avenue and goes straight to the light rail station to go downtown. Check Regional Transit for details. Other Things to NoteWe are close enough to downtown Sacramento to be there in 15 minutes but far enough to have occasional turkeys and deer in our yard. We are just 3 miles from some amazing parks along the American River Parkway. We have bikes to borrow too if you feel like a ride.

The SpaceOur cozy cottage really is close to everything, located on a private lane between Arden Park/Wilhaggen, two of Sacramento's most desirable neighborhoods. It is centrally located and within easy walking distance of the American River and its wonderful bike trail. CSUS (Cal State University Sacramento) is 5 minutes away, a 2 mile straight line down Fair Oaks Blvd. There is a picturesque 9-hole golf course bordering the river about a mile down the road. Downtown Sacramento and the state capitol are about five miles, also on the Fair Oaks/J St route. There are dozens of restaurants within a one-mile radius, from exceptionally fine dining to great local greasy spoons and everything in-between. There are excellent Whole Foods, Save Mart, Safeway and Raley's grocery stores within a two-mile radius. The well-appointed cottage is about 500 square feet and very quiet. It's nestled under numerous tall oaks and next to a green belt. When you are there, it is hard to believe you are in the middle of a bustling city. The fully-equipped kitchen has a four-burner stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker and toaster. Also included are dinnerware and flatware, linen napkins, a variety of pots, pans and bakeware, candles, wine glasses and a selection of spices and oils. The cottage is set back about 300 feet from the main road and is nice and secluded. The full french doors open to a redwood deck under a canopy of oak trees in this lush, rustic setting. It's perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine or dining al fresco under the stars. The deck has a small gas grill (always ready to go year 'round), table, chairs and sometimes a view of the family of wild turkeys that has been walking through most evenings for generations. The cottage naturally stays very comfortable due to its location under the trees, but has an oversized central heating and air unit to insure your comfort any time of year. There is a flat-panel LCD television, Comcast cable and WiFi network for your laptop and mobile devices. The walls are adorned with classic Fillmore and Avalon Ballroom posters and handbills and other music-themed art. A selection of books about music, music art and the music business are also on hand. The queen-sized bed comes with down comforter and pillows. A futon is also available for a third person upon request. We also have a Graco Pack-n-Play on request just in case some little kids show up. There is also an iron, small ironing board and a hair dryer. The tiled bath has a shower with shampoo, soaps and a selection of toiletries. There is a washer-dryer and laundry detergent. The cottage shares a covered carport with a larger house on the property with ample additional parking available on the lane. It is a simple but genuinely charming place to stay. Guest AccessThe entire dwelling is available, including the use of anything inside. Interaction with GuestsWhile I am a very attentive owner, I do not normally have any interaction with guests unless there is a need, in which case I am always available. The NeighborhoodThis is one of the nicest parts of town. Our lane is populated with beautiful homes as is the neighborhood generally. High-quality eateries abound in all price ranges and there are great grocery stores like Raley's, Whole Foods, SaveMart and Safeway within a mile or two. We are around 1/2 mile from the American River, too, with it's superb, river-side bike and jogging trail. We are also very close to major arteries, simplifying directions and making shorter any trip. Getting AroundYou can access city buses just a few hundred yards from our place, and light rail is available about two miles away, though I would not recommend walking to the light rail station. Also, if you are contemplating taking public transit from the nearby Watt Ave. bus stop to the midtown/downtown area, be advised that the bus uses a circuitous route that takes around one hour.

The SpaceIf you are a single executive traveler, couple or family small or large, and you're looking for a short term rental with all the comforts of home, which is fun and possesses unusual charm and functional utility, look no further. This furnished craftsmanly two-story bungalow has all the charm of its 1920s architecture, the efficiency of an uncompromising complete remodel and the fun of unique musical art. It's a great combination. The bungalow is about 2000 sq feet, superbly appointed with a musical theme and ideally located in the middle of Sacramento. lt has two bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs, with a bath on each floor. Upstairs bedrooms have queen beds, dressers, closets and are deeply colored and very relaxing. Both downstairs bedrooms have room fans and french doors to the garden. One has two twin beds, night stands, lamps, dresser and closet. The other has a queen bed, dresser, bookshelf, small closet and reading lamps. Both bathrooms have cherry cabinets with granite countertops and porcelain sinks. The upstairs bath includes a jetted tub/shower, the downstairs bath has a full-sized shower with cornerless heavy glass and two sinks. We keep a plentiful supply of towels on hand as well as a few toiletries, typically toothbrushes & toothpaste, shampoo and bodywash. The house was recently rebuilt from the frame up, including all electrical, plumbing, walls, cabinets, staircase, fixtures and appliances and all the windows except the front four. There is an abundance of natural wood everywhere, from the hand-rubbed custom doors to the carefully mitered baseboards and crown molding. Cherry cabinets and granite countertops grace the kitchen. It is a highly-pleasurable place to be in. It is heart-warming to see an old house looking so smart, and we keep it spotless. It is also close to everything. Dozens of high-quality restaurants in all price ranges are within a mile radius. We've eaten at most of them and would be happy to recommend. There is a Whole Foods two miles away and great Italian, French, Nouveau Chinese literally 50 yards up the street. The American River is about a half-mile and Cal Expo and Sacramento State are within two miles. The Capitol is about five and the airport is 20 miles, around 1/2 hour. Lake Tahoe is 100 miles east and San Francisco is 80 miles west. The bungalow is also close to Watt Ave and Highway 50, but you wouldn't know it. It is on a large, ½ acre lot with dozens of trees, a creek and a large rustic greenbelt that makes it very private. It is perfect for working alone or relaxing with family or friends, and its location in Wilhaggin, one of Sacramento's most secure neighborhoods, insures peace of mind. It's a wonderful place for a dinner party, whether you are a beginner or a gourmet. The granite and cherry kitchen is fully-equipped, state of the art and all-Kitchenaid, including a large french door interior-dispensing refrigerator, five-burner gas cooktop with large-btu center burner and powerful exhaust fan, large wall oven and microwave with convection feature and dishwasher. The kitchen sink is a white Kohler enameled cast iron with their dandy half-height smart divider and the Delta faucet is very well designed. There is also a KitchenAid mixer, Cuisinart Food Processor, electric kettle, coffeemaker, blender, 4-slice toaster and Belgian waffle maker. It's a really fun kitchen to cook in. The island is also perfect to lay out the take out, if you're not into cooking! The large mission-styled dining set accommodates eight diners and there are place-settings, flatware and stemware for at least ten on hand. The living room has a comfy American Standard leather sofa, a corduroy armchair and jump chair. The TV is a 37" Panasonic HDTV and Blue Ray DVD player. Comcast is our cable and Internet provider. Apple TV is installed if you want to access the many channels available, or stream content from your iPhone, Android or other mobile device over the wireless network. The office has a small desk/table, executive chair, stylish guest chairs and a large secretary, which contains many volumes of excellent music and film biographies and reference books. There is also a wireless Canon printer which is network-enabled. The entire house is adorned with music-related art, including a large signed silkscreen of John Van Hamersveld's iconic "Endless Summer," a number of '60s posters and handbills from the Fillmore and the Avalon; some great vintage Sacramento concert posters and a bunch more silkscreens, original art pieces and chromelin proofs. Many were created for Tower Records' Pulse! Magazine, where I used to work. There are also some interesting original Tower-oriented pieces, including art used in Tower's London grand opening and a decoupaged story about the shoppers at Tower Sunset from the 1971 L.A. Times. They are a lot of fun and beautiful, too. I have lots of interesting music objects that I rotate in, out and around the house, so there should always be some surprises. The Arden Park/Willaggen area is one of Sacramento's most desirable neighborhoods. And though we are very close to busy streets like Fair Oaks Blvd. and Watt Ave., the house is located on a private lane with very little traffic. The place is surrounded by trees and overlooks a rustic greenbelt complete with a seasonal creek. There is also a fully-furnished studio cottage on the property available. Rest assured we are committed to your complete satisfaction. Let us know what you need to make your stay perfect. Please write with any questions. Sincerely, Mike Farrace (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) (EMAIL HIDDEN) Guest AccessThe entire home. Interaction with GuestsI am a hands-on owner but you will never see me unless you want to. I like to stage the house and be gone when you get there, but I do live less than a mile away and am almost always available. I enjoy answering questions and helping any way I can. The NeighborhoodIt's one of Sacramento's nicest neighborhoods, full of tree-lined streets, lovely parks and beautiful homes, with excellent retail in all directions, top notch dining within a hundred yards and the super fine American river and hiking/biking trail is less than a half-mile walk. Getting AroundDepends where you're going. You can access a bus stop about 1/4 mile from here, which isn't bad. It's great for some destinations and not as good for others. Ask me and I'll figure out bus routes for you if you need to take the bus during your stay.

The SpaceCome share the warmth, comfort, and creative productivity in this artists' house near Sacramento State University, downtown, the American River and the freeway. Have fun with the cats, hang out on the back patio table and watch the birds and fruit trees while you catch up on the internet or draw, go on a gorgeous tree-filled walk to the river, and enjoy yourself or focus on work while you are here. Optional yummy breakfast is only $8.00 per person. You'll sleep well in a super comfy queen-sized memory foam bed that gets rave reviews. We will provide as much or as little interaction as you like, provide tourism tips, and generally act like non-intrusive fun and caring cousins. There's free Wi-Fi, your own private bathroom, lots of light, kitchen privileges, you are welcome to hang out on the comfy couch and watch Netflix, and a mini-orchard in the backyard that you are welcome to feast on when the fruit is ripe. There's also lots of art, primarily from Mira and Guy but also from other artist friends and children's book illustrators. We also have 2 lovely cats who are lots of fun but also non-intrusive if you're not a big cat person. We love being airbnb hosts because of the wonderful people we've met and the ways that we are able to share our lovely home while helping others. Our house is a warm and welcoming place, full of light, color, kindness and creativity. Lots of parking and close to public transportation, freeway to downtown or Tahoe, as well as all sorts of great restaurants a few minutes drive away. We welcome you and you can even park in the driveway if you like :) Mira is a children's book illustrator and writer and the director of teh Childrens Book Academy, Guy works in social services. Unfortunately, the photos don't do the place justice but if you like quiet, clean, contemporary, with color and warmth and a lovely breakfast, this house is it. If you are thinking of visiting Sacramento and like warm people and an artful house, you've come to the right place. Guest AccessKitchen and living room during reasonable hours, garden, hammock, outdoor patio vintage table and chairs for eating or working. It's pretty lovely. Interaction with GuestsAs much or as little as desired. We tend to really like our guests and when able love to take them special places or just have fun together. Check in time is between 7pm and 10pm on your arrival day. I wish I could be more flexible about this, but I get home from work at 7pm and sometimes go to bed as early as 10pm. Check out time is noon. I'll provide you with a key to the front door. And if you want a key for just your bedroom I can provide that as well. I don't have the "instant book" feature enabled, but I get a text message when a new request is made, so I'm pretty good about respond quickly, unless it's the middle of the night or something.
