I do have wifi up at my yurt, if needed. NOTE: This cabin, with the screened in porch does reside near my yurt/residence...I do respect privacy, but the cabin is not as privately situated as my other cabin and tree house! I suggest reading reviews to help decide which is a best fit for your stay... * I do have 6 friendly cats that wander the property, and have been in the cabin (in case of allergies), also I have two wandering Guinea Fowl (the clowns)!...that roost in the tree over the screen porch ( they are quite amusing but can be loud at times, they call them the farmer's watchdogs! Please don't be alarmed by the occasional presence of flying pests, it is a cabin on wooded country property, and they are a part off experiencing, and being in nature! ***PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING IN WINTER: Cabin can get chilly in the coldest of temps...please consider not booking if you are not prepared to deal with a rustic, minimally insulated, rustic cabin in the winter!! Please check forecast...I do not control the weather, so please book accordingly. These cabins are rustic cabin/camps... *Winter/mud/early spring season access: Parking is at top of driveway (easy walk), outdoor shower not available. Can either wash up with basin the old fashioned way, or happy to offer my yurt shower if needed as well* Being a rustic cabin, one does need to keep the wood stove going. Cabin can get chilly to cold in the coldest of temps...please consider not booking if you are not prepared to deal with a rustic, minimally insulated cabin in the winter!! Firewood supply is currently minimal, so please pick up some bundled dry firewood. Guest AccessThere is an outdoor compost toilet outhouse. Interaction with GuestsThis being my fourth season as an airbnb host, I must say, I just love meeting all of the wonderful guests that I have been fortunate to share my tranquil, and lovely spot with! If I am around, I would be more than happy to answer any questions, or give you ideas, and directions to places of interest. Perhaps we can even share in a nice glass of wine! I do live on the property in a yurt as well. I am usually always accessible via text, or phone. * I totally respect my guests privacy, and need for their "alone" time. Please understand that I do wander through the property, tending to my gardens, etc, but will only socialize with guests, if they so desire! *Also, I reside in a yurt, behind the cabin. The NeighborhoodMy neighborhood is a quiet rural spot on a country dirt road with great, but barely ever seen neighbors. Out here everyone is busy tending to their property, be it farm animals, gardening, or just doing all the chores that are required living a rural life! If you listen you can hear the horse whinny at the landowner next door, or the sheep herd (baaa) in the back of the land! The area is teaming with wildlife. At night, the abundance of stars against the dark night sky, will amaze you! Fireflies magically illuminate the summer nights! And when it's the frogs mating season, which are abundant along the ponds edge, their chorus will sing you to sleep! Great sunsets as well! I love where I live, when there is something needed the neighbors are always ready and willing to lend a hand! And when we can we get together for some socializing, we all catch up with each others lives. Out here we respect each others privacy, but think nothing of walking up to each others door and saying hello, or asking for a hand! Getting AroundRural country life just doesn't support public transportation unfortunately (a downside), but we are not far from many conveniences accessible by car, walk, or get on a bike! Other Things to NoteI will do everything I can to make your stay comfortable...I will supply towels (but if you can bring any, that would be really helpful and appreciated)! cotton sheets, flannel in the colder months, and biodegradable natural soap and shampoo for the outdoor shower as well. (Please only use biodegradable/natural products while using shower, as it does drain directly into the ground.) (URL HIDDEN) the summer, there are plenty of fresh herbs, and mint everywhere for your use. In season, berries as well! I do grow organic vegetables, and am always happy to share in the harvest! * Minimum stay is 2 nights. * No Dogs *Not suitable for young children *In summer, please no DEET bug sprays! I supply a lemon/eucalyptus oil for you to use, or if you bring natural products...thank you! * * I am also a Reiki practitioner. Enjoy the "back to nature" simplicity! I do have a garden hose as well... *** Cooler weather notes: Cabin is partially insulated, but being a rustic cabin, it is not like staying in a house...you need to tend to the fire in the wood stove to keep the warmth, and when the temps dip, the cabin is for the more adventurous, who are looking for an experience to a simpler way of living... The SpaceThe treehouse is surrounded by windows, and doors, which connect you to the surrounding trees, and the magical beauty of the nature around you! The loft has a comfortable full size mattress, with crisp cotton sheets, and with the clear roof above you. You will experience the swaying of the trees, the dappled, filtered light, all right above your head... Wonderful place to dream, while sleeping, or lying awake! Take a good book, a journal, or sketchpad, and cozy up in the loft, while hearing the nature sounds surrounding you! The many birds will delight you with their songs! Treehouses bring us back to a state of childlike wonder, to memories of the simplicity of sleeping with the trees, while giving one a feeling of being nestled, and communing with all that nature begs for us to pay attention to! The treehouse is meant to keep you close to the outside...and with that, and the openness of the structure, you will be sort of camping in the trees... ** Treehouse is totally off the grid, no electricity, and no wifi...if you need to connect, you can wonder over to my yurt front porch and connect. Also, I can plug your phone in if needed as well! (During the cooler months, there is a propane gas fireplace for your source if heat, and cozy to snuggle in front of as well! There are also plenty of blankets... ** The treehouse has all salvaged windows, with no screening, and is very much like a glampingesque experience...bugs are minimal, but always something is present, as it is the country, and a structure, in, and surrounded by trees! ** I understand the desire, and allure, experiencing a stay in a tree house is, but I want to note a few things to consider when booking your stay. ** The treehouse is designed to keep you very close to thevtrue tree house experience. There is a canopy of trees around and above you. So, depending on weather, the trees, during storms, rain, may cause twigs, and acorns to rain down as well on the roof! The Treehouse is just that, a house in and with the trees! Magical, delightful, full of beauty, and wonder...but, there may also be some flying pests, ie: bugs Harmless, a wonderful, and necessary part of natures web, and they, well, have their purpose. I suggest you bring what children have, a sense of wonder and amazement! If you try and enjoy the adventure, the magic, the symbiotic nature, and of natures relationship with us, your experience should then be full of delight! Enjoy the space! ** This is an Adult Only Treehouse, due too the organic nature of railings, stairs, loft, etc...18 and older please. There is an small/simple outdoor kitchen/cooking area under the treehouse (NO cooking in the treehouse)... I supply fresh well water in crocks, propane cooker, and basic kitchen supplies, pots, pans, dishes, etc. I also provide organic, fair trade coffee, teas. Basic spices, organic sugar, local honey provided. I also have two other listings, to accommodate larger groups! A total of 6 can be accommodated on the property. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1377639 https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/7030707 Guest AccessGuests can wander about the 5.25 acre property! Please enjoy the property as much as I do! This is your home away from home, and I love Sharing it! Please be mindful of the wildlife, and nature you will be surrounded by. Be respectful, and aware...please do not feed any wildlie, birds, fish in pond, etc. Clean up well after cooking outdoors especially! Put away all food, and do dishes before bed, as night time visitors (uh, like raccoons), love raiding when they feel they can sneak up and help themselves! Close garbage can lids tightly as well... Scrub the grill clean after each use, with grill scrub brush supplied. Please do not leave outdoor fire fire pit unattended, and when done, douse fire with water to insure it is out! Interaction with GuestsI love sharing my property with others, as well as meeting new people! I am also mindful and respect just how much, or little, interaction guests prefer. I will respect your privacy, and getaway, and ask all guests to be mindful of music, etc., so we can all enjoy and experience this tranquil, and peaceful respite... * I am always ( unless someplace where I am in accessible to cell service), available to answer questions, guide you, or suggest places of interests, etc. , as well as any help, or assistance you may need! I am here to accommodate your needs, and want my guests to truly enjoy all they can at Argyle Cabins!! Out here we respect each others privacy, but think nothing of walking up to each others door and saying hello, or asking for a hand! Getting AroundThere is no public transportation in this rural community. If you are planning a trip without a vehicle, there is a convenient Amtrak Station in Fort Edward, approx 15 - 20 minute taxi ride. The driver will usually gladly stop at a good market as well, if needing groceries! Other Things to NoteThere is a rustic, compost outhouse, down the steps, ground level... There is an outdoor shower area near the parking area that all three guest cabins/treehouse share (If you can conveniently bring towels, great, otherwise I can provide them)...I do provide natural, biodegradable soap, shampoos... Please only use my supplied products, or if you use natural as well. (The water, and soap do drain to the ground), and keeping the land, and wildlife safe from chemical, etc, is of utmost importance here. Please be mindful :)
