The SpaceAurelia's Farm B&B is all about fresh local produce, home cooking and cosy accommodation, all year round. Almost all of our fruit, vegetables and meat comes from local farms and backyard gardens. We cook regularly, so fresh home baking and cooking is part of the experience. The accommodation we have to offer is a separate, fully self contained 2 bedroom cottage, offering a private place to stay with lovely views of Salisbury Hill. One bedroom has a queen size bed with a Day Bed (a full sized single bed) and the other has two king single beds (with a 3rd King Single available when needed). Both rooms have built in wardrobes and the queen size room has a digital TV. The lounge area has a comfy 3 seater couch and some armchairs to watch TV in, or to just admire the view. The lounge has double doors on to the verandah with a BBQ and some outdoor seating. The bathroom has a lovely, deep spa bath, double basins and a spacious shower, while also accommodating a front loader washing machine should you need to get a few things washed while you are here. The front door opens on to a wide, covered carport (great for getting in and out of the car in bad weather) that also holds a good sized clothesline. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooktop, oven, microwave and dishwasher and has a store of supplies to get you underway with any cooking you might feel like doing, while the dining table provides a great location for up to 6 people to sit and enjoy a meal. We provide a generous breakfast basket for your stay including our home made banana bread and muesli, fresh local eggs, free range bacon, home made jams, fresh bread from our local bakery, milk, juice, cereal and a range of teas and freshly ground locally roasted coffee. We are also happy to take requests for assistance with lunch, dinner and picnic basket provisions. We are passionate about supporting local businesses and have established a small 'shop' in one shelf in the Cottage. We have a small mini bar featuring locally produced (award winning) gin and scotch from Eastview Estate, as well as an extensive wine list featuring our favourite cool climate New England wines. And of course we have a range of craft beers from Uralla's own New England Brewing Co. We also stock local products including goatsmilk soaps and lip balm, alongside our own handmade cards, caramel, nougat and panforte. Please note that we do not at present have the option to offer free wifi to our guests. Guest AccessThe cottage is entirely yours and if you would like to meet our chickens, just let us know and we will take you to them! Our 5 acre block has sweeping rural views and you are welcome to enjoy a stroll around the space, take a chair to an appealing spot, sit and enjoy the fresh country air. Please note that we do not at present have the option to offer free wifi to our guests. Interaction with GuestsWe will be there to greet you when you arrive and make sure you are settled in comfortably. We are also happy to help with any requests while you are here, we will do our utmost to make your time with us relaxing and enjoyable. The NeighborhoodOur location, just a 2 minute drive or a 15 minute walk to the main street of Uralla, is special. We enjoy starry nights on the edge of town and all the advantages of being part of a small rural community. Take advantage of our local knowledge and enjoy a relaxing stay, head out to any of our many local producers (we can help you with our own producer trail guides) and enjoy the magic of strolling along a beautiful heritage building lined main street filled with wonderful cafes and specialty shops. Getting AroundUralla, and Aurelia's Farm, is on the New England Highway, just 15 minutes from the Armidale Regional Airport (which is on the outskirts of Armidale heading towards Uralla). Uralla is on the train line from Sydney and the station is just two blocks from the main street. There is a taxi service in Uralla, as well as regular buses from Uralla to Armidale and coach services in numerous directions from Uralla to areas like Coffs Harbour, Brisbane, Newcastle and Sydney. Other Things to NoteMax is our friendly farm cat. He is a gentle, middle aged, short hair cat we rescued from the pound and he can at times invite himself in to your accommodation. He does not mind at all if you direct him back out and we do clean thoroughly between each guest, taking particular care to remove any cat hair.

The SpaceThis is shared accommodation as the hosts also live in the house which is set on 25 acres in a secluded bend of Commissioner's Waters with extensive gardens surrounding the house with water views. This is a smoke free accommodation venue. Birdlife in the garden is bountiful and provides constant enjoyment. Visitors comment on the quiet and relaxing atmosphere of the property. We can't see any of our neighbours although they are about 1km away. We are 5 mins drive from the Blue Hole and Gara Gorge, both popular natural tourist attractions for visitors to Armidale. Mobile phone reception is limited although achievable if you stand in the right spot!! Arrival time can be reasonably flexible if your booking is made well in advance. Time of departure is 10am unless otherwise prearranged. We have four charismatic geese - Eeny, Meeny, Miny and Mo and a Cavalier Schitzu cross called "Winston" who delights us every day. When you arrive, please drive down towards the garage ignoring the parking signs we have for our Cafe on Sundays. There are often kangaroos on the drive into our property too so it is best to obey the 10kph speed sign! The cultural city of Armidale, home to the University of New England and three private schools - PLC, NEGS and TAS - is just 10 mins away. Our property 'Wilanja' was featured in the 2013 Autumn edition (Vol 10) of the beautiful and popular magazine 'Country Living - New England to the North West of NSW' from page 75 to 79. Our thanks to them for the wonderful article and fantastic photographs. Guest AccessWe have three queen sized bedrooms available with a shared bathroom at one end of the house. Kitchen and lounge rooms are shared with the owners who sleep at the other end of the house. Interaction with GuestsThis is determined by the purpose of the guests' visit and any other prior commitments we may have at the time. The NeighborhoodWe are 5 mins drive from the Blue Hole and Gara Gorge, both popular natural tourist attractions for visitors to Armidale. Getting AroundNo public transport is available, other than a taxi or Uber from Armidale. Other Things to NoteContinental breakfast can be provided for an extra cost of $10 per head. Hot cooked breakfast of bacon, eggs, tomato and toast costs $15. Dinner can also be catered for with prior notification at a cost of $25 per adult and $10 per child under 10 years for a two course meal. Please remember that water is a precious resource and we use tank water (not town water) so it is best to keep showers as short as possible please.

The SpaceBe charmed by the eclectic retro chic of "The Arthouse" on the outskirts of historic Uralla Village, in the New England Tablelands. A 1920's timber shed has been lovingly converted into a funky cabin which can comfortably sleep 2 (either together in the snug loft or separately). It's an innovative design project where urban cast offs have been re-designed and given a new lease of life with the assistance of builder extraordinaire James; (arguably) the handiest man on earth. Best described as 'a cross between Grand Designs and a Rubic's cube' you'll have the opportunity to marvel at the combination of modern design incorporating vintage and 'found objects' lovingly upcycled to create a fabulous eco-conscious haven filled with quirky features. Many discarded items were found on the streets of Sydney, brought up, brushed up and incorporated into the mix. Complete with sleeping loft and fold-out sofa, you will love spending a night or two in the 'grown-ups cubby house'. You'll feel like a kid again as you climb the ladder to the sleeping loft and scribble a note on the chalkboard fridge. There's even a fire pit out the front so you can enjoy a roaring campfire in the cooler months. Uralla is perched atop the Great Dividing Range on the New England Highway. Only 50 minutes from Tamworth and 15 minutes drive from Armidale; it's in the crisp cool high mountain country of the Northern Tablelands. Halfway between Sydney and Brisbane, it's a perfect stopover on a driving holiday but with so much on offer, it's a destination unto itself. Only 20 minutes drive from the prestigious University of New England (UNE), it's a great option for out-of-town students or visiting lecturers. It's an ideal location for folks who enjoy the buzz of Tamworth's Country Music Festival in January, but want to escape the summer heat. Why not go heritage all the way and travel by train, arriving at the historic Uralla Train Station and enjoy a relaxing trip through ever changing countryside. Surrounded by national parks, Uralla is a great base for exploring the natural beauty of the famous gorge country and wild rivers to the east. To the west, discover the spectacular wide open spaces with a drive along Fossickers Way and a visit to the famous Sawn Rocks at Mount Kaputar National Park or the Warrumbungles. There's loads of options for fishing, bushwalking and birdwatching in any direction. If you're feeling lucky, try your hand at fossicking and pan for gold at the nearby river. Once home to infamous bushranger Thunderbolt and centre of a booming gold rush, Uralla is now a peaceful village that is fast becoming a boutique foodie's paradise, where you can step out of the hectic pace. Browse the famous McCrossin's Museum, vintage stores, cafes, artisan gallery and growers market. There's even a micro brewery and the Top Pub has a roaring fire in winter and serves delicious meals. "The Arthouse" cabin is located on a large block in the quiet heritage Gostwyck precinct of Uralla village, between the showground and local football field. The Arthouse shares the block with a cute cottage where your friendly host lives. She'll be more than happy to help you out with handy local knowledge. The Arthouse now has its very own Outhouse - complete with washing machine, laundry tub with hot water, shower and loo - just a short stroll through the garden. The Arthouse is perfect for folks who want to kick back and experience a slice of eco-retro-country lifestyle. It's a 'hands on' gumboot experience where you get the chance to be part of our enviro-eco experiment! It's a pet-friendly household so if you're travelling with four legged friends, we might just be able to help. However all four-legged guests will be vetted by Ernie, the guardian ginger garden god. A barn-raised feral, Ernie arrived in the dead of night on the back of a truck with a pack of sheep dogs, momentarily thinking he'd died and gone to heaven, Ernie quickly recovered to discover a heightened appreciation for the finer side of life: food, fires and cuddles... Guest AccessThere's fresh greens you can pick straight from the gardens and lovely rainwater to drink. There's wifi so don't forget to bring your lap top. There's a screen with DVD (and a selection of DVD's to check out) however no telly as such (which in my humble opinion is a big plus). However you can always watch 'catch up' telly via the net. Interaction with GuestsWe like to help out with friendly advice, touring tips and any assistance you might need. However we respect everyone's right to peaceful enjoyment of the Arthouse and will be fairly 'hands off' unless you have some questions. The NeighborhoodIn the words of one of last century's famous philosophers (Bjork) 'It's Oh so quiet'. There's plenty of big sky and cloud fanciers will feel like they're in heaven, coz it is actually a little bit closer... Getting AroundIt's a 10-15 minute stroll into heritage Uralla village, and there's several buses that travel to and from Armidale. The train from Sydney arrives around 5pm and you can catch it to Armidale. The train to Sydney passes through Uralla at around 8:45am and will take you to Tamworth, Sydney or anywhere in between. Other Things to NoteThe Arthouse is built on enviro-friendly principles. Your stay might be a little different to other places you have visited, as you are part of the environment and will be invited to play a part in maintaining the Arthouse eco credentials. Lucky you!

Please note that we do not at present have the option to offer wifi to our guests. The SpacePassive solar designed home, warm in winter, cool in summer. Pretty garden, pleasant outdoor spaces. Lovely room with very comfortable Queen bed and ample wardrobe and drawer space, desk and study chair. All bed linen and towels supplied. Living area is open plan with dining and kitchen, so there is no space for a couple to be private, except the bedroom. For that reason I take only a single guest. Shared bathroom, with spa bath, and separate toilet. Not really suitable for more than one person. Evening meal if required. ($12.50) Guest AccessSingle level, park on the drive. I will open the garage door so you can bring your gear straight through, with no steps to negotiate for wheels bags. For daily access, come through the gate to the sitting room door. I will provide a key for your use while you are here, but I'll usually be home by late afternoon. So far as access within the house goes, my bedroom is off limits, of course, but the rest of the house and garden are shared. There are good laundry facilities, and off street parking. I will show you the designated storage space for your food supplies in fridge and pantry. Interaction with GuestsThis is my home, and I am here much of most days, but if you are working, you will really only see me in the evenings and at weekends. I am not a morning person, so you will need to do your own breakfast. I will supply an evening meal - main course only- for $12.50. So, dinner and conversation, TV, or you may have hard working days and just want to shower, eat and crash. Either is fine by me, and I have had guests of both types. Just recently, for the first time, I had a guest who did not say "Good night" or give any indication that she was going to bed. I was surprised at the omission and how much that irritated me, but it surely did. After all, this is my home, not a hotel, and the little courtesies matter. I try to welcome my guests as I would visting family or friends, and will do all I can to make your stay pleasant and comfortable. The NeighborhoodThis is a cul de sac in a quiet, new, residential area on the edge of town. Very little traffic noise. Bush land at the back, with kangaroos and birds to watch at dawn and dusk. Several tourist attractions within easy driving distance. Getting AroundAlthough there is a bus service about 500 metres away, it is infrequent. Best if you have your own wheels. 6 km from UNE, 2.5 km from town centre. A recent guest from Europe, doing a research project at UNE, had the use of a bicycle, and found that just fine for her needs. Other Things to NoteI have a very well behaved dog, who lives indoors. She does not jump up on people, or lick, or beg food from the table, but is gentle and friendly. If you feel that she is in your face, a firm command " go and lie down" will send her to her cushion.

The SpaceSerenity's Blue Room is a generous-sized bed-sitting room containing trio bunk (DB bottom/SB top), two armchairs, desk and wardrobe. If you're a solo traveller and prefer a smaller room, see my separate listing for the Red Room - a single bedroom containing SB, armchair, desk and wardrobe. Both rooms have heaters. Linen is supplied and NBN wifi is available. Note: While I nominally hold to Airbnb's standard 3pm check-in and 12noon check-out, I am willing to be flexible wherever possible. Please consult me about your individual requirements. Guest AccessBathroom and kitchen facilities are shared, and it's ok to wash a load of clothes for yourself if you're here for a few days. My bedroom and study are off-limits, as is the other guest room unless you have booked both rooms. Interaction with GuestsI work from home, so I'll probably be present during most of your stay. I live very quietly and have chemical sensitivities, so please - no loud music or aerosols in the house. Apart from that, you may socialise with me as much or as little as you please; your room is big enough to relax in, but I'm happy to chat if you're in the loungeroom. The NeighborhoodMy house is only a few blocks from the uni and the cycleway to the CBD, on the outer edge of Armidale's township. It's very convenient for those attending uni intensives or functions at the uni, but is outside the areas of noisy student life. Getting AroundThe town-UNE bus stops two blocks away (beside the uni residential colleges), the New England Hwy is 1km away, and there are takeaways/restaurants and a petrol station 1.3kms down the road. I have a bicycle and helmet available for guest use on payment of a deposit. Other Things to NoteGenerally I prefer short-term bookings (less than a week) for your initial booking, but I'm not absolutely rigid on that. Slightly longer bookings are possible for returning guests. I do not accept bookings frm unaccompanied males.

The SpaceThe cottage was built around the beginning of the 20th century. It was originally a rural worker's cottage. It has foundations and bearers that were originally milled from trees locally. The cottage has been altered and extended many times over the past 120 years. Our contribution was to re clad the cottage in new color bond metal, and add a modern bathroom and kitchen. However, we have retained the old kitchen which was the wood burning stove and fireplace, for your interest Guest AccessGuests have full access to the property and surrounding land. They can enjoy breathtaking sunrises and amazing sunsets from picture windows that surround the cottage. They can enjoy rambling through pastures and native bush that adjoins our property. A two minute drive or fifteen minute walk has them in the heart of Armidale, for shopping, dinning and entertainment. Interaction with GuestsWhile we are both full time teachers, we are committed to making your stay enjoyable. We will provide information on the local area, where to shop and where to eat. Any problems, just stroll the fifty yards to our house and they will be resolved. The NeighborhoodWe are in the heart of Armidale and in a secluded and beautiful rural environment. Armidale is a university town and is famous for its arts, culture, music and food. Being at the heart of the Australian Wool and Cattle industry, the town has some very upmarket shopping servicing the landed gentry and the sophisticated tastes of the university. There are a large number of working artists in Armidale and there are a number of public and private galleries displaying and selling their works. For more active visitors, there is a wide variety of bush walks and drives, fishing and other game pursuits. Getting AroundIn a small country city, your feet are the best form of public transport. There is a local bus service run by the council, and a taxi with one of our friendly townsfolk is rarely more than a ten dollar fare to get anywhere. The SpaceSerenity's Red Room is a single bedroom containing SB, armchair, desk and wardrobe. If you are travelling with others, or would like a larger room/bed, please also check out my listing for the Blue Room (sleeps 3). Guest AccessBathroom and kitchen facilities are shared, and it's ok to wash a load of clothes for yourself if you're here for a few days. My bedroom and study are off-limits, as is the other guest room unless you have booked both rooms. Note: While I nominally hold to Airbnb's standard 3pm check-in and 12noon check-out, I am willing to be flexible wherever possible. Please consult me about your individual requirements. I do not accept bookings from unaccompanied males.
