The SpaceOur cabin-style beach house is nestled in an indigenous overgrown garden while being a five minute walk from Arniston's crystal clear turquoise water and sandy white beaches. Arniston is near the southern most tip of Africa (Cape Agulhas), where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet. A quaint and charming fishing village, renowned for it’s unspoilt coastline. It was named after one of the many shipwrecks that occurred off it’s coast. Arniston is also known as Waenhuiskrans (wagon house cliff), which is the name derived from the breathtaking tidal cave that one can visit at low tide. Each year from June to November, the Southern Right Whales visit the area to mate and calve. One can sit for hours and watch these huge graceful creatures from the shoreline. Although Arniston is popular for it’s peace and tranquillity, there are plenty of activities for outdoor enthusiasts. Days can be spent walking around the village or one of the nature trails, fishing, swimming, snorkelling, bird watching, cycling or relaxing on the beaches. Guest AccessThe house has a Weber barbecue. We have a USB DVD player and display in the living room. Interaction with GuestsThis is our holiday home and we do not live in Arniston. We do however have an agent in the village who will be at your disposal. There are various other restaurants in Bredasdorp which is a 20 km drive from Arniston. Getting AroundArniston has no public transport - while in the village, everything is within walking distance. There is bottle store and small convenience store in Arniston. Transport to the surrounds, for both shopping and sightseeing requires a personal vehicle. The SpaceStunning part of South Africa.. Time magazine voted Arniston as one of the Top 5 Destinations in the World Guest AccessWhole house.... Booking, collection of keys, cleaning, etc... Through Etnas in the village by the website or AirBnB No internet so get 4 G card from a service provider a link up other devices is best. Interaction with GuestsWe live in Hong Kong and this is our house in South Africa that is looked after by Etnas... In Arniston itself. The NeighborhoodMost beautiful, fresh, relaxing and unspoiled beach location on the planet. The house (The Weaver) was designed and built award winning architect, Professor Kirby. If renters want to double the space they can rent next door (The Mallets) which is identical and accommodate 12 people... Got for two parties going on holiday together or a large party. Getting AroundYou will need to hire a car or a motorcycle (from Cape Town or Any of other cities) as there is very little public transport and Arniston is remote. The nearby town where to buy supplies and do the "shop" is called Bredasdorp and is 24 kilometres away. Other Things to NoteWonderful nature reserves nearby such as De Hoop and Die Mond. I personally think winter is a great time of year to visit and longer term rentals can be arranged for the budding ornithologist or writer wanting peace and tranquility. Summer ( Nov - March) is quite hot and busy ... Especially holidays and Weaver is always booked years in advance.

The SpaceOne of the best kept secrets on the Cape South Coast is the picturesque, fishing village of Arniston or Waenshuiskrans, situated in the Overberg, only 120 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. Arniston is renowned for its unspoilt coastline, exquisite turquoise coloured sea and beautiful beaches. Guest AccessGuest have access to two outdoor braai areas and a cold shower to wash off sandy feet. Interaction with GuestsThis house comes fully serviced and guests can contact the owner and the manager 24/7 for assistance. The NeighborhoodArniston Beach House can comfortably accommodate up to eight guests and comprises four bedrooms, four bathrooms, an open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area with an indoor braai. The first and second bedrooms each contain a double bed, the third bedroom contains twin single beds and the fourth bedroom contains bunk beds. All linen is supplied. The open-pan kitchen, dining room and lounge includes an indoor braai area and leads to two outdoor braai areas, one of which is under cover. Getting AroundThe village is so small that most people just walk everywhere. Other Things to NoteIt was named after the British vessel that was wrecked off the coast in 1815, leaving only six survivors of the 378 on board; the skeleton of the ship can still be seen stranded on the beach. Over the years the wreck’s name has become synonymous with the place name, and today Arniston and Waenhuiskrans are used interchangeably. Locals also know the town as Waenshuiskrans, named after the cave that is large enough to house several ox-wagons and that one could visit in low tide. The 200-year-old restored fishermen’s village, Kassiesbaai, recognisable for its lime-washed and thatched houses, remains intact and has been declared a National Monument in its entirety. From May to December, the famous Southern Right whales can be seen in the bay to mate and calve in the warm waters.
