The SpaceOur guest room has a very comfortable Queen-sized bed, luggage racks, drawers, a 32" LCD TV and reading lamps. A sliding door opens up onto a patio area. In your PRIVATE bathroom we provide a bath towel, face cloth, body wash, a hair dryer and hair straighteners and a heated towel rail. We can also provide an iron/ironing board but we do charge extra for use of our laundry facilities. Please note our home is not suitable for families - we only accept bookings from singles or couples. Guest AccessWe're fairly flexible in terms of checking in and checking out as long as we receive plenty of notice. You'll have access to your bedroom, a private bathroom, the lounge/dining area and outdoor spaces. You'll have your own key and can come and go at your leisure. There's so much to do here, we expect you'll mostly be out and about making the most of your time! Interaction with GuestsAs we both work we may not always be here when you arrive but we'll leave you adequate instructions so you can come in and make yourself at home. We've traveled extensively around the world and we love meeting new people of different backgrounds and cultures. When we get the opportunity we'll sit down with you, find out a bit more about you and give you plenty of advice about the "must-dos" in the area. We're also mindful that some guests like to be left alone to some degree, so if you prefer minimal interaction, just let us know. Our very friendly cat Sparky will possibly make an appearance and loves any attention she can get so please consider this if you have allergies. The NeighborhoodArrowtown is an all-season destination. In Autumn it's a photographer's paradise as the surrounding hills are emblazoned in oranges, reds and yellows. If you happen to be here late April, you can enjoy Arrowtown's very own Autumn Festival Week. During Winter, skiers and snowboarders are spoiled for choice with four major ski fields to pick from and we're within a reasonable driving distance to them all. Even if winter sports aren't your thing, you'll still enjoy immersing yourself in the hype and buzz of this season. Spring and Summer are always eagerly anticipated. The temperatures range from low-high 20s and the advantage of longer nights means more time for outdoor activities. Only a few minutes' stroll from our home is the beautiful Arrow River and Millennium walking/biking track. Hire a bike and you can ride out to the stunning Gibbston Valley and indulge in the many wineries, or for the thrill seekers, you can throw yourself off a bridge - literally! The world's first bungy jump is on the biking track as well, and if you're not feeling daring, you can just watch as others launch themselves into the air. In general, you'll love strolling through our quaint, historic township and the cafes and restaurants are varied and diverse to suit everyone's tastes. We also have an 18-hole golf course only a few minutes' walk from our home. Getting AroundBuses leave fairly regularly from Arrowtown into Queenstown, however we recommend you have a hire car as it will be the easiest way to get around. Queenstown is only a 20-25-minute drive away. As well as clubs and nightlife it also has a world-class selection of cafes and restaurants. It's the tourist hub of the region so it's where you'll find the majority of your action/adventure activities. For some of the most stunning scenery you'll find anywhere, the sleepy town of Glenorchy is about an hours drive away. The surrounding landscape is where many scenes from The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movies were shot. Over the hill, the Crown Range to be more precise, you'll find the town of Wanaka. It's about a 45-minute drive away and just going over the hill (New Zealand's highest paved road) is an experience in itself. If you love wine then you are on the outskirts of some of New Zealand's best wineries. Bannockburn and the Gibbston Valley are so easy to get to and the drive past farmland and through narrow gorges makes the journey so enjoyable. The beauty of Arrowtown is that it's a great central base because of its close proximity to virtually everything the lakes district has to offer. Other Things to NoteWe charge $5 per load for laundry and can provide you with a drying rack at no charge. Only paying guests are authorised to stay over. We don't have a 'child-proof' home and are better suited for couples as opposed to those travelling with babies or small children.

Your summer Queenstown farmstay will probably be spent in the sun around the outdoor dining table, discussing your day's achievements and savoring the smells of prime New Zealand beef fillet and lamb racks coming from your barbecue. A bottle of an award winning vintage from Gibbston valley winery is recommended, and easily acquired by driving just four kilometres down the road. Those opting for a winter Queenstown farmstay will appreciate the secure ski locker, under floor heating, instant gas fire place and feather duvets. You can check the weather on either of Queenstown's two ski areas by just looking out your window!! The floor area of the cottage is approximately 90 square meters / 970 square feet.
