The SpaceOur house used to be part of a very well known and popular B&B located in Arroyo Seco. Therefore, all rooms have private access, are large in size, decorated in a typical NM style, offer full en-suite bathrooms, and a high level of comfort. More importantly, our location is fabulous - located just 1 mile north of the Village of Arroyo Seco, nine miles from the Taos Pueblo and Taos Plaza and just nine miles up the Twining Valley to get to Taos Ski Valley, a simply terrific ski resort. If you are looking for a spacious, simple and uncluttered room in which to lay your head(s) and gear for a few nights while ripping it up on the mountain, Lobo is for you. Arroyo Seco is beautiful with views in all directions. The village itself is quirky and interesting and home to fantastic food, galleries, and shops. A vehicle is required in this area as there is no public transport. There is plenty of parking at the house and easy private access to the rooms. There is no grade to get to the house so in almost all conditions, the house can be reached with no need for four wheel drive. We do live on the premises and will be available to answers any questions or address any special needs. Our guests will have private access to their room(s) directly from the parking area. The casita is around the on the north side of the property and there is no need to enter through our main house - you can come and go as you desire at anytime. A key to your room will be available upon arrival. Given that we have traveled extensively to all continents, lived abroad in Europe and Asia, have been both hosts and guests, and are ourselves users of Airbnb, we are happy to provide any information to our guests as needed, though we completely understand if guests simply want to be left alone to enjoy their time in the area. Arroyo Seco is simply the gem of Taos County, and Northern New Mexico. It is located at 7,500 feet above sea level and, from our property, one has 360 degree views south to the Taos Pueblo and Taos town, west out over Hondo Mesa and the Rio Grande Gorge, north and east to the Sangre de Cristo mountains, part of the Southern Rockies. From our house guests can find easy access to all of Taos' outdoor activities including, but certainly not limited to, skiing, horseback riding, hot air-ballooning, fly fishing in the Rio Hondo, biking amid rustic country roads, hiking in the one-million acre Carson National Forest, or rafting the Rio Grande and Rio Chama rivers. For those interested in eating, shopping, and viewing art, there are simply too many incredible culinary delights, interesting and even quirky shops in addition to fantastic galleries and art shops throughout Arroyo Seco and Taos town to mention. Be sure to take some time to explore…it would be very hard to go wrong! A lunch or breakfast once or twice (or even more!) down at the Taos Cow in Arroyo Seco certainly should not be missed. And without a doubt, head to Aceq one night for an awesome supper served in delicious and creative ways and using local ingredients from area producers. Unfortunately, public transportation is very limited in this area so a vehicle is pretty much required (unless you are on a bike or motorcycle!) There is no grade and therefore no need for four wheel drive to access our house or its parking area. The Chile Line does run shuttles up to TSV – (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) CHILE LINE TAOS SKI VALLEY for more information and a schedule. It picks up and drops off near to the house at the community center in Arroyo Seco where you can leave your car. The SpaceOur house is set amidst pines and juniper with views that stretch wide and long. It's quiet up here with the birds, the rabbits, chipmunks and squirrels. There are also elk and the occasional bear. Yet Taos and the Ski Valley are each only 20 minutes away. And, Arroyo Seco, a tiny hamlet of artists, with the best ice cream in the world, a few good restaurants, and interesting shops is just a few minutes down the mountain. You enter the suite from the portale. In the summer I put out the hammock and the flowers are blooming. There are chairs and a table for al fresco dining, cocktails, or scribbling. In summertime, the portale is the room you'll use most, In the winter the view, from there and the suite is, more often than not, a snowy, winter wonderland. The views still stretch to the gorge and beyond. The suite has a queen bed in the bedroom as well as a day bed and a table and chairs where you can eat breakfast or serve yourself a take- out dinner or lunch from one of the restaurants in Arroyo Seco. There is a small fridge and microwave as well as plates, glasses and cutlery in the passageway to the bath. There is local tv as well as a collection of dvds. The suite is self sufficient and private, tucked into the lower floor of our home. Guest AccessThe suite is accessed from its private portale which looks out into the juniper and pine and beyond, to the gorge. The downstairs is yours; the upstairs is ours. Interaction with GuestsThis is our home and we are available if needed and look forward to meeting you, however, we rent the downstairs only when we don't have family or guests of our own staying with us and, if you come, we will leave you to enjoy your privacy. We are always available by text, email or phone. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is El Salto, just up the mountain from the artist village of Arroyo Seco which has interesting shops, a few good restaurants and Abe's for award winning burritos and grocery necessities. We love the tranquility of El Salto, the profound quiet. We love to watch the birds-- hummers in the summer, magpies in the winter. Year round, the flickers. We like the walks. We are on the edge of the wilderness and there are hikes and ambles just outside the door, whether down Coyote Road or up the mountain and into the woods. And, we love the sunsets. Magnificent ones most every evening. The Ski Valley, 25 minutes away, offers even more hikes as well as biking and winter sports and Taos, 25 minutes in the other direction, offers the Pueblo, farmers markets, flea markets, galleries, more shopping and more variety in restaurants. Plus music and entertainment. Getting AroundYou'll need a car to get to us and it should be four wheel drive if it is the winter. Parking is right in front of the portale and the entrance to the guest suite. Other Things to Note5 night minimum stay $15 per night for third person Check out our Casa Rosa on Martyrs Lane in Taos if you prefer to be in town or want to stay both places.

If you are looking for a spacious, simple and uncluttered room in which to lay your head(s) and gear for a few nights while ripping it up on the mountain, Tram Pas is for you. Actually, Yerba (Mesa View Casita) and Tram Pas (Mountain Casita) are the exact same rooms and layout except inverted design-wise.
