The SpaceNO PROM, SENIOR WEEK, OR OTHER TYPES OF HIGH SCHOOL PARTIES! My husband and I are experienced hosts - we've hosted amazing guests in our NYC condo since 2008 - and we're super excited to expand our commitment to budget vacations paired with high-end hospitality with our very own shore house in Asbury Park, New Jersey. We bought this lovely home in June 2013, and we spent the entire summer renovating it just for you. We know you're gonna love it as much as we do. [PLEASE NOTE: The house can only sleep 9 people comfortably, unless you bring additional air mattresses. The reason we have it listed for 16+ people is for those who solely want to host an event at the house.] For your convenience and comfort, this amazing three-bedroom home features a king bed in a large master bedroom with a large flat-screen HDTV with cable; a double bed in the guest bedroom with a medium-sized flat-screen HDTV with cable; a twin pullout bed in a third bedroom; a queen-size pullout bed in the living room; and a queen-size inflatable air mattress. All linens, pillows, and towels are provided for your convenience. There is closet space with hangers and drawers in each room so you can unpack and relax for the duration of your trip. Every room is outfitted with air-conditioning units for those hot Jersey Shore nights, and the house is heated in all rooms for when the winter weather sweeps in to make your beach getaway a little cooler and cozier. If more than three beds will be required, there's a queen pullout in the living room as well as a queen air mattress that you can set up. Linens and pillows also are provided for those extra beds. There's a large flat-screen HDTV in the living room so you can unwind at the end of the night (plus free recently released movies in our digital library), and there are board games that you're welcome to play if you and your friends and family are up for a little friendly competition. The dining room table seats six comfortably so you can serve family-style meals to discuss all the fun you're having. The kitchen also is outfitted with everything you'll need to make amazing breakfasts, lunches and dinners, including all-new stainless steel appliances (featuring our dream-come-true double oven, dishwasher, microwave, and spacious fridge), coffee maker; blender; pots, pans, utensils, baking sheets/pans, and other essentials; toaster; and popcorn maker. We cook a lot, so you'll likely find everything you want and need in our pimped-out culinary oasis. From the kitchen, you can access the basement, where you'll find two bicycles that you're welcome to use to see the sights around town, and the washer and dryer should you need it. Also for your recreational use is a boogie board that you can take to the beach and ride the waves, and a box full of beach games. We also have a private, very relaxing backyard that will likely put your stay (and our listing) over the edge in terms of value and sheer awesomeness. In the backyard you'll find a dining set that seats six with a large umbrella to keep you shaded on those sizzling summer days. You can use this space to serve your meals straight from the large gas grill (which is also shaded; a welcome respite for grill masters) in the afternoons and evenings. When you're finished eating, feel free to kick back and relax on our additional lounge set with fire pit, or in the nap-inducing handmade hammock hung between two trees in the backyard. We also have a bean-bag toss game that you can set up in the backyard for hours of fun. This is starting to sound like an episode of 'The Price Is Right', isn't it? But wait - there's more! When you return from the beach, there's an outdoor shower that you can use to clean yourself off (it's preferred that you don't bring the beach inside), and there's plenty of parking in our neighborhood so you have one less thing to stress about. We've also just added an outdoor theater to the property - and if you enjoy watching movies outside, you're gonna love this! We have a huge 77' screen on which a top-of-the-line projector will play whatever DVD you'd like in brilliant color. There are speakers for excellent sound, too. Just set it all up in the backyard (very easy to do) and you and your guests are in for a unique experience that you won't find at any other rental in Asbury Park. Grab some snacks, drinks and blankets and have a ball! What else...? What else...? Dogs are allowed (there's an additional fee of $35 per dog per night - please count him as a person when booking), so long as you mind them at all times and you ensure that they don't destroy or damage anything. You must bring a crate for when you leave the house without the dog. There's a doggy beach nearby - our dog LOVES it - so you can take your pup to play with others in the mornings or evenings. There's also a bar with a doggy 'yappy hour' that your furbabies will enjoy if they're little lushes like ours. Other fantastic nearby attractions include the beach and boardwalk (It's exactly one mile straight up our street - easily accessible on foot, by bike, or by car); a large outlet shopping mall with all the good stores (I'm a J. Crew boy myself); bowling alleys; miniature golf; a large flea market; an abundance of historic local bars featuring live music; excellent local restaurants and shops; Six Flags (about a 30-minute drive); Atlantic City (about 1.5 hours away); and New York City (about 1 hour and 15 minutes by car, or 1.5 hours by train). Some of these attractions require a car, but there's still plenty to do if you're coming without a vehicle. The NJ Transit train station is about a 10-minute walk from our house, which will take you to and from the heart of New York City if you're up for a quick side adventure. Round-trip tickets are $30 per person (military, seniors and children get a very good discount). Really relaxing ride. ALSO, IT'S IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT WE DO NOT ACCEPT PROM PARTIES OR ANY SCENARIO WHERE HIGH SCHOOL KIDS WILL RUN AMOK. WE RECEIVE OVER 100 INQUIRIES ABOUT THIS EACH YEAR. WE'VE HEARD ALL THE EXCUSES ABOUT HOW EVERYTHING WILL BE OK BECAUSE YOUR DADDY IS A LAWYER OR THAT YOUR CHURCH GROUP JUST WANTS "TO PRAY ALL OVER THE HOUSE." ALL OF THESE ATTEMPTS TO PULL ONE OVER ON US GETS THE SIDE-EYE, AND ME AND MY FRIENDS LAUGH ABOUT IT - OFTEN HYSTERICALLY - LATER. THUS, THE ANSWER IS... NOPE. YOU MUST BE AGE 21 OR OLDER TO RENT. BECAUSE WE'RE NOT DUMMIES, AND WE DON'T WANT DEAD TEENAGERS IN OUR BASEMENT. YOUR PARENTS WILL THANK ME LATER. That about covers it. Of course we're happy to answer any questions you may have to help you decide if this is the best place for your next beach vacay. P.S. It already is, but we'll oblige anyway. :) We hope to hear from you soon! A few other things to consider: We control the house remotely. We'll unlock it in advance of your arrival, and there's a set of keys inside that you can use to manually lock the door when you go out. The neighborhood is safe, quiet and residential. We ask that you respect our neighbors by keeping the noise level down after hours. We like to party too, but we're respectful - and we expect the same from our guests. We have security cameras outside to make sure everything stays within reason. If you cause a problem - which we know you won't, of course - we'll call the cops and kick you out. Like, for real. Just be decent, please, and everyone will have a good night's sleep. There's a train in town that travels from New York City all the way down the Jersey coast. You can take it to the city or to another beach town for a day trip. Otherwise, we have a couple bikes that you're welcome to use during your stay. Here are some things that we've experienced in the past that we hope to avoid in the future: 1. Please don't pull any wires out of the TVs or out of the walls. Sounds silly, I'm sure, but someone has done it. 2. Please, pleeeease dispose of your trash in the cans on the side of the house before leaving. Sometimes I can't get there to clean up after your stay for a few days. Lingering trash is not a good situation. I'm not Jack Hannah, and I don't want to be friends with the squirrels. 3. Please mind your fire and make sure it is completely extinguished when you're finished if you decide to build one. 4. Please replace the covers to the grill and fire pit once everything is extinguished properly. 4. Please don't rearrange our furniture, light fixtures, cabinets, etc. You can move things around while you're there to make yourself more comfortable, but please put them back where they belong. 5. As we enjoy our home whenever we're not hosting guests, we will have our personal effects there and food items in the fridge and freezer. This is not an invitation to attend our buffet. Please buy your own food. That said, you're welcome to use small amounts of community items like salt, pepper, sugar, flour, spices, oil, etc. If you've used enough to make a dent, please replace it. 6. DO NOT TAKE A BATH. IT WILL FLOOD THE KITCHEN. 7. In general, please review the white manual on the desk at the start and end of your stay and everything will go smoothly. Thanks in advance! The Space This airy 2nd floor bedroom (complete with skylight is housed in one of the oldest structures in town. Our quaint cottage once belonged to James Bradley, the founder of Asbury Park. Full disclosure, we are still a work in progress (our loving restoration of this house will probably continue forever) but every is room comfortable and fully functional with many 21st century amenities. We are pet friendly (we have 2 dogs of our own) so well socialized dogs are welcome. Guest AccessYou will have exclusive use of the skylight bedroom with a trundle bed which sleeps two. This bedroom has its own full bath (with vintage clawfoot tub and modern shower.) There is a cable TV and internet access in this room as well. Interaction with Guests Skylight bedroom guests have full run of the downstairs--so feel free to share our kitchen, hang out in the living room, lounge in the sun room, rock on our front porch or use the gas grill in our back yard. Other Things to Note-My listing is best suitable for a couple or 2 couples. It is not suitable for young children. Too many things to break, get into, play with etc. I have a 3 year old niece and know first hand! Thanks for understanding! -The sofa in the living room pulls out into a bed for additional sleeping. -Air conditioning are 2 window units. One for the living room/dining and another for the master bedroom. -Driveway parking is available Fri-Sun stays. If you need parking Mon-Thurs it would be street parking. There is always street parking available in front of the home if staying Mon-Thurs. Also please note 2 things: -There is a carriage house on the property behind the main house. It is a completely separate dwelling and is rented by full time tenants. They keep to themselves and do not have access to any of the amenities in the backyard nor the main house. The backyard space and home is completely for you to use! -Lastly, at times last minute bookings come through when I will not be able to welcome you to the home (an access code would be provided to retrieve the keys). Therefore, the fireplace would not be usable. The fireplace has specific safety instructions before each use and each guest must be briefed on the operation of the fireplace. Your safety and the safety of the home are the most important. Thank you for understanding.

The SpaceStunning house on Deal Lake with a spacious deck only feet from the water. The house is positioned with panoramic lakes views and complete privacy from the street. The serene location is perfect for quiet meals on the deck and private relaxation in the built-in hot-tub overlooking the water. The house is located in one of the best neighborhoods in Asbury Park, and less than a mile from the beach and Asbury Park Boardwalk. It was completely renovated in 2012 to include hardwood flooring, two luxurious spa-like bathrooms, a high-end gourmet kitchen, spacious entertainment areas, three bedrooms and an office. The first floor has two guest bedrooms (one king and one queen size bed), a full bathroom with quadruple rain shower, kitchen, dining, living and sun rooms boosting panoramic lake views in three directions. The lakeside terrace, accessible through oversize glass sliding doors from the living room and the sun room, is complete with a dining table for ten and a brand-new built-in hot tub for seven. The entire second floor provides the privacy of a spacious master bedroom with a custom-made larger than king (106”) bed, a full bathroom with rain shower and tub, and a spacious office providing a comfortable and peaceful work environment should you bring your work with you. The office can also be used as a fourth bedroom if needed with inflatable mattresses. We provide two full size inflatable mattresses, including all necessary bedding and linens, for this purpose. Full laundry facilities are located in the basement. Although the home has a very warm and cozy feeling, it is very modern with amenities such as built-in speakers and sound system throughout, recessed/dimmable lighting, and dual zone A/C temperature controls. This is truly a place that is secluded enough to give you complete privacy on the lake, yet within walking distance to the famous Asbury Park boardwalk and the exciting nightlife that Asbury Park has to offer. Also included during your stay are 2 kayaks for use on the lake, and 5 bicycles to easily get around town. The house sleeps 6 people in regular beds in three bedrooms. For larger groups, the office can be used as a fourth bedroom together with inflatable mattresses. We provide two full size inflatable mattresses, including all necessary bedding and linens, for this purpose. Please note that for shorter stays, a cleaning fee may apply. For longer stays, please contact me for special rates. Please also note that we require all guests to sign a rental agreement upon booking. Guest AccessTwo kayaks. Five bicycles.

The SpaceBike, towel, chair and even an umbrella if you'd like - you get it all here! Conveniently located on a quiet street just about 1 mile to the beach, downtown and train station. PLEASE keep this in mind before booking. Some guests may prefer closer proximity to these areas and should consult the map before booking. It is very helpful. I'd rather my guests be happy with their visit and distance to the beach and downtown rather than providing a low star review! :-) Traveling with friends or family? See my other listings for rooms #1 (queen bed) & #2 (queen bed). All rooms are complete with bed linens and bath towels. ** 2 night minimum for Friday or Saturday night stays during summer season. Single night accommodations may be available for a surcharge ** Special check in and minimum night arrangements may be possible. Just ask! Guest AccessGet comfortable and unwind. Sit on the front porch and enjoy the peaceful street and beautiful sunset. Or for a little more privacy hang out on the back patio. Had enough sunshine? Relax in the living room. Feel like cooking? (additional 1/2 bath located on 2nd floor) The home is equipped with WiFi, central air/heat and water filtration as well as ceiling fans in every room. Interaction with GuestsI do live here full time and enjoy spending time with my guests when appropriate. Otherwise when home I tend to stay in my own space upstairs - if I am not enjoying the front porch! The NeighborhoodWe are not your typical shore town: the boardwalk and Cookman Ave offer unique shops, a variety of bars with a style and ambiance for everyone, amazing restaurants, live music at many venues (e.g. Stone Pony) and first Saturdays (all restaurants, shops and galleries stay open late) continue to impress visitors! Getting AroundThere are several bicycles for guest use. Taxi service. And abundant parking on a quiet, neighbor friendly street if you have a car.
