The SpaceIt is a one story house on Lake Erie, very private in quiet neighborhood. It was built in 1921 and is historical. The front of the house faces the lake and at one time there was a promenade to the Country club that existed next door. A hot tub with a view of the lake is on the west deck. There is a barbecue grill that is gas on the east deck. There is an enclosed glass porch with views of the lake from all sides. There is a wood burning fireplace - very cozy in winter. During winter there is cross country skiing at the country club and sledding across the street. My goal for you is to have a great stay. I and my housekeeper go out of my way to provide a warm and welcome stay. Be aware I have signs up around the house on how to work things. It is for your benefit that they are there. Guest AccessThe yard and the house is at your disposal. The house has a fenced-in courtyard as well as a large open yard area. The beach and access is work to get to, but enjoyable when weather and conditions allow. Be aware some climbing is involved. During the summer, the weather is accommodating more often than not, but Beach access is not 100% guaranteed. The lake levels and weather determine how hard to get to and if its usable. This is not something I control. Interaction with GuestsI have a housekeeper at your disposal for any problems. The 75 dollar cleaning fee is for the cleaning before your arrival - all is cleaned, bleached linens done. I have signs around to home to help you operate the equipment so there are no problems. Sometimes, things may occur that are beyond my control. If something breaks while you are there, Cheryl will evaluate the problem. Cable going out, hot tub malfunctions. We do everything we can to get things up and running. If i am unable to get wifi, hot tub or tv's functioning I will talk with you. YOU ARE EXPECTED TO LEAVE HOUSE AND YARD AS YOU FOUND IT. The NeighborhoodQuaint, quiet town. Highly recommended: Across the Street, - Martinis! Restaurant & Lounge: Great Martini's, steak bowls and must try the homemade Peanut Butter Pie. 5th Street, in the harbor, - Harbor Perk coffee shop where they fresh roast their beans every morning, patrons come from multiple states just for this. - Carlisle's Home Store for shopping little treasures and Wren has great wines. - The Bascule Bridge grill for great dinners. Mussels are a must try. - Briquettes Smokehouse for great beers and BBQ. Also, Brant's Apple Farm which makes fresh donuts pastries and apple cider is a must on fall mornings. Getting AroundLocated in a small town, a car is necessary. They do have cabs and, unfortunately, little to no uber/lyft/ride sharing as of right now. There also is a "Jolly Trolley" that visits winery's if you are going to the wineries. Other Things to NoteIt is very important that if you have problems (can't find lights, there is something not to your liking, etc.), you can contact the housekeeper - Cheryl - or myself immediately upon arrival. The bathroom has calcium buildup from hard water and a few stains. I do not like water softeners so we do are best to keep things at bay. There are some stains and calcium deposits. That is not dirt. It is hard water. Bathroom is thoroughly cleaned and bleached before each arrival. There are no refunds after your stay!!! Please don't wait till after you leave. I can't help you once you are gone.

Beautiful, small, lakefront cottage modestly decorated in nautical theme, overlooking private sand and stone beach with lake frontage. The spectacular sunsets sold us on this home, and we enjoy the nearby area, too. Situated amongst other weekend get-away homes, this is a fabulous spot to relax on the deck overlooking the grassy hill leading down to the beach, watch the waves rolling in, the Great Lakes ships passing by on the horizon, the sun dappling the waves in the morning and setting so dramatically in the evening. Our children love going into Geneva-on-the-Lake, with its 1950's shopping strip-lined with amusement halls, putt-putt golf, waterslides, shops, and restaurants. We enjoy visiting Geneva State Park with its lodge and marina, the wineries in the area, the beautiful covered bridges and great antique shops in Ashtabula Harbor, and incredible views as you drive along the lake. An hour to Erie, Pennsylvania, and an hour to downtown Cleveland, the area remains quiet and serene, not overly built and commercialized. After a day of exploring, we can enjoy a full meal cooked in the ample kitchen (with full-size refrigerator and gas oven, plenty of kitchenware) while the kids pop in a video or DVD in the living room with fireplace (fold-out couch for one person sleeping) with a sliding glass door leading to the deck overlooking Lake Erie. There is an enclosed porch (with outdoor furniture) and sleeper sofa, also overlooking the lake. Updated furniture in the living room, with new Crate & Barrel arm chairs and a pull-out couch. The master bedroom features a king-size bed and plentiful storage in the dresser. The other bedroom features a bunkbed perfect for kids, with a twin-size bed on top, and a full-size mattress below, dresser storage, and a TV with VHS. There is also an attached one-car garage which we use to store firewood, lawncare equipment. It is not available to guests. We love swimming in the summer, and awesome views of nature in the fall. We enjoy all the amenities of the area, including great golfing nearby, full service groceries in Geneva and Ashtabula. We know we will be spending the next few years just taking in all that the area has to offer from wineries to local theatre in Ashtabula, to covered bridge and grape festivals, to glorious lake views. We have free wireless available, and a local calls only phone. There is no cable TV but plenty of dvds, videos and loads of cds from jazz to pop to classical. Beach access is shared with two other cottages with shared stairs down and across a private yard. It is a quiet, family friendly beach, great for sea glass and fossil hunting in the day and bonfires at night. You are welcome to bring your dog, if he or she is well-behaved! There is no air conditioning. we have found our ceiling fans do just fine on the lake. Keywords: Cottage Home

Upstairs is a quiet retreat with three beautiful bedrooms - the master bedroom has a balcony facing the lake. The upstairs is completed with a full bath and a half. There is something wonderful about falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the water. Many people come and seldom leave the lake. You can spend the day on the bank overlooking the lake or take a few steps down to your own private beach. This home is perfect for quiet relaxation, reading, and doing nothing at all! However, Ashtabula County is a haven for travelers looking for an affordable family vacation site. While relaxing at our home you must discover the harbor district of Ashtabula with quaint shops, Maritime and Underground Railroad Museums, and views of the Ashtabula Harbor Light. Also nearby Geneva-on-the-Lake, features summer-time fun at this historic resort district, featuring amusement park rides, miniature golf, go-karts, waterslides, nostalgic dinners, and more. Inland discover the 16 covered bridges, both historic and new. Ashtabula County also produces over 65 percent of Ohio's grapes and has developed a hard-earned reputation for developing some outstanding domestic wines; sample them at our 22 wineries. And Cleveland is just an hour drive to enjoy museums, baseball, and more great sights. Please give us a call. We would be happy to talk with you about this very special place!
