A Kuerig and French Press are available anytime for coffee and tea. Feel free to relax in our inviting living room; TV (Netflix + Hulu), Wii, and books are accessible. Interaction with GuestsWould be glad to hang out, invite out, or leave alone. The NeighborhoodAstoria is slightly slower and a quieter than Manhattan and is a place for foodies. The neighborhood is safe and fun with lots of cafes, restaurants, gyms, yoga studios, salons and spas... etc. Being off of the N/Q subway line makes for easy access to many popular sites in Manhattan. Getting AroundN/Q Line is the most popular from our area of Astoria and is a about a 6 minute walk from our home. This subway line cuts across Manhattan and down following Broadway. Easy access to Times Square, Herald Square + Empire State Building, Union Square, Washington Square Park, SOHO, Canal Street (China Town)... and many more. The R and M lines are also close (about a 12 minute walk). There are buses, taxis and car services available as well. I also have a bike which can be rented as a cheap, fast, fun alternative. Other Things to NoteWe have a cat and a child. Maggie is an indoor cat and she is extremely friendly, some say she is part dog. She often visits the neighbors going through the living room window. The AirBnB room is typically off limits to Maggie. We have been blessed with the arrival of our son in July 2015. He is an easy-going guy and loads of fun. Although he generally sleeps through the night, you may hear some middle of the night crying.

I grew up here in NYC as did my boyfriend so .. feel free to ask any questions about NYC as we love to try and help out as much as possible.. to ensure you have a great vacation! Come and stay in my large bedroom in this two bedroom. You would be sharing the apartment with my mother & her husband, who stay in the second bedroom ...but are hardly ever home. (so you really wouldn't be seeing them much if at all. Why am I renting this second bedroom..? I have been staying at my boyfriend and figured out why not help pay the mortgage while not at home. A great place to stay and enjoy your time in NYC... for a great price :) This is a completely furnished 2 bedroom apartment located in Astoria, Queens just 10 minutes to Manhattan... where you would be renting the larger bedroom in the apartment. Literally right across the river..in 10 minutes you can be in Times Square, window shopping on Madison or Fifth Avenue, ice skating at Rockefeller Center, seeing a Broadway show or just wandering the streets of Manhattan. Don't want to take the train (it really is completely safe at all hours of the night) ...but would rather jump in a cab. The price from Midtown/Times Square area is $15, and from E. Village $20. Astoria .. where the apartment is located is diverse, friendly and safe. Supermarkets, movie theaters, outdoors coffee shops, retail stores, clubs, bars & the famous Astoria Beer Garden are within 5 min walking distance. This great little neighborhood is filled with the largest Greek population outside of Greece, as well as many Brazilian.. so there are amazing little cafes and restaurants all within a few minutes of the apartment. Get a taste of what it's like to live like a native in NYC. Just 5 minute walk to the N/Q trains (Broadway station), allowing you to get to midtown Manhattan (Central Park south) in 10 minutes, ... and the subway runs ALL NIGHT & is completely safe. About the apartment: * Impeccably clean * All linens provided * Fully furnished * 2nd floor apartment * Elevator building * Laundry located on the building * Free access to WI-FI * Your own room with television & wifi Contact us if you're interested in subletting our space, we look forward to hearing from you~ Spanish speakers - Exelente apartamento para quedarte en tus vacaciones de verano en NYC. The SpaceGreat Price + Location (10 mins to Manhattan) + Neighborhood = Your Satisfaction! My place is a peaceful harbor in this very busy city (a small studio in a clean and quiet apartment building.) It has one bedroom, one kitchen and one bathroom. All furniture is in a contemporary style like IKEA's, simple, stylish and cozy! You will have the whole queen size bed with a very comfortable memory mattress and two bamboo pillows, a blanket, unlimited wi-fi, air-conditioning system, lots of sunlight, one dining table, microwave over, utensils, refrigerator, hot water shower and clean towels. No cooking in the kitchen though. Guest AccessYou will have access to everything mentioned in the above sections/tools in the bedroom, the kitchen and the bathroom! It basically feels like you have the whole place except when I am home and sleep on my lovely couch. Interaction with GuestsSometimes, I don't initiate a conversation. Sometimes I do. But I am definitely up for some chatting if you like to and 100% answer your questions about staying here, tourism, transportation, sightseeing, restaurants, stores, movies theaters and shopping. I sincerely hope my guests would feel relaxed and free to bring up any questions that might slip my mind as a host. The NeighborhoodAstoria is the best neighborhood in Queens, safe, live, beautiful and very close to Manhattan. If compared to the housing cost in Manhattan, I would say Astoria is even better. Astoria is a middle-class and commercial neighborhood with a population of 154,000. In the area within 5 blocks from my place, you'll find multiple places for: FOOD-- Bakeries, coffee shops, Mexican/Chinese/Greek/American/Indian/Thai/Japanese/Brazilian/Italian food, ice cream shops and even bubble tea shops, PLACES OF INTEREST-- Museum of the Moving Image, Kaufman Astoria Studios, Isamu Noguchi Museum, Socrates Sculpture Park, Astoria Park along the East River, The Hell Gate Bridge, the oldest beer garden in New York City and Bohemian Hall, OTHERS-- Gyms, dentist offices, clinics, banks, pharmacies, grocery stores, florist shops, liquor stores, bars and deli. Getting AroundNo place is more convenient than Astoria in Queens. The 30th Ave subway station is only 2 minutes walk from my place! N/Q train will take you to Manhattan within only 10 minutes! If you go to Laguardia Airport, M60 bus will take you there less than 20 minutes. Other Things to NoteI will try my best to respond, ask, offer and confirm details with you in a timely manner.

The SpaceJust 10 minutes from the City Center (Midtown Manhattan)! Very bright and modern, yet extremely comfortable. This is my personal apartment, not one of many apartments I'm renting, so it has been kept extremely clean, well maintained, and has all of the amenities you might want or need. Quality furniture, appliances, and equipment throughout. - 1 bedroom apartment with a Queen size bed and luxury mattress. - 2 high end Natuzzi leather couches. - Queen size AeroBed air mattress (sleeps 2). - Located on a quiet street. - Large, full-size kitchen with stainless steel appliances, gas stove, dishwasher (very rare in NYC!), convection toaster/oven, and refrigerator. - Central air conditioning and heating - Cable TV with over 300 channels, including premium movie channels HBO and Cinemax - WiFi Internet with high speed cable modem (110 Mbps) - Just 1 block from subway stations. Just 3 stops from Midtown Manhattan! - Complete high end 5.1 surround sound system and Samsung 50" LED TV. - DVR (Digital Video Recorder). - PlayStation 3 video game console. - Bedroom with 40" Samsung LCD TV - Balcony (terrace) overlooking street. - 3 floors from street level, so you won't be disturbed by people walking by! - Nest thermostat allows you to directly control the heat/central air, and automatically saves energy when you're not there. (Many buildings in NYC are very old and do not have a thermostat to control the heat, instead relying on the building to control it.) Please message me if you have any questions, I'm happy to help! Guest Access- Rooftop views with breathtaking views of the NYC skyline, including the Empire State Building, Chrysler Building, Freedom Tower, bridges. etc. - Laundry cleaning - clothes washer & dryer in the building's basement. Interaction with GuestsYou will have the entire apartment to yourself, with complete privacy for the duration of your stay. If you need assistance with anything I am always nearby to take care of any requests. The NeighborhoodAstoria/Long Island City is an area that manages to combine many cultures and young professionals. There is an authentic neighborhood feel that is quiet. Most Manhattanites know Astoria only for its beer gardens, but this large—about 170,000 people—and eclectic neighborhood has much more to offer, including tons of excellent and reasonably priced restaurants and bars, strong ethnic clusters that have weathered the first waves of gentrification, good shopping at local markets, big-box retailers, and many stores along Steinway St. Getting AroundJust 10 minutes from Midtown Manhattan (city center) via either of the 2 nearby subway stations. Trains run 24 hours, but wait times may be longer on nights and weekends. - Steinway St (M or R train, and E on nights/weekends). Located 1 block away on Steinway St, between Broadway and 34th Ave. - Broadway (N or Q train). Located at Broadway and 31st Street (7 short blocks away). Other Things to NotePlease note that I'm not currently accepting bookings for short stays.

The NeighborhoodA lively, traditionally Greek and Italian neighborhood, Astoria, Queens, has over the past few decades seen an influx of Brazilians, Bangladeshis, Eastern Europeans, Colombians and Egyptians. Eat and drink your way through this diverse cultural legacy, from stuffed vine leaves and spinach pie in a Hellenic taverna to a thick Turkish coffee and shisha pipe in “Little Egypt” (Steinway St between 28th Ave and Astoria Blvd), or a stein of Czech suds at the enduringly popular 1910 Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden. In the early days of cinema, Astoria was a major celluloid star, and Kaufman Astoria Studios—based in the old Paramount Pictures production HQ—carries on the moviemaking tradition, while the recently upgraded and expanded Museum of the Moving Image illuminates all facets of the art form. Getting AroundThe location also makes for easy travel to and from JFK and La Guardia airports, the ride is around 15 and 20 minutes . Around 35 dollars to JFK ,18 dollars to La Guardia. Manhattan transplants have opened up new stars like 718. Astoria teems with restaurants, cafes, and small specialty markets. Astoria is a name often on the tongues of New Yorkers who love to eat. It's more casual and cheaper than Manhattan, the ethnic foods are more traditional and less nouveau, and there's a great neighborhood vibe. Yes, there's certainly great Greek food, but that's not all by a long shot. Immigrants from across the globe have made Astoria famous for its varied cuisines. From many street corners, you can see the foods of five continents represented by nearby restaurants. Cafes and Bakeries Parisi Bros. Bakery (30-17 Broadway) is a simple but quality bakery at a great location: under the tracks at the corner of Broadway and 31st Street. Go to the counter to pick up crusty Italian and French bread or some cookies to enjoy with coffee. Omonia Cafe (32-20 Broadway) is a delicious Greek cafe. Sit and sip an espresso, munch on Greek and French pastries, and enjoy the neighborhood atmosphere. Omonia made the wedding cake for My Big Fat Greek Wedding. San Antonio Bakery #2 (36-20 Astoria Blvd) serves empanadas, sandwiches, and tasty hot dogs all with a Chilean twist. Try the hot dog completo, which comes loaded with avocado, tomatoes, and mayo. The dulce de leche pasties are a hit with Joey of Astoria Bohemian Beer Hall and Garden The only old-school, big beer garden left in New York City, Bohemian Hall is wonderful. Turn off crazy urban 31st Street--the subway overhead--and escape into this huge beer garden with its shady trees, picnic tables, pitchers of icy beer, and platters of hearty Czech food and barbecue. It's a must on summer weekends with stein-thumping live folk music on many afternoons. Bohemia Beer Garden is a true urban oasis for families, visitors, and a cast of neighborhood regulars. Museum of the Moving Image The arts are picking up steam in Astoria. Local culture is led by the innovative American Museum of the Moving Image. It is one of the finest museums in New York City for kids, for adults, and definitely for movie aficionados. Astoria Park and Manhattan Views What a great place for a park! Astoria Park is smack on the East River with gorgeous views of Upper Manhattan and the Queensboro and Hellgate Bridges. Robert Moses' Astoria Pool is the king of all outdoor city pools. Getting AroundClose and Quick to Manhattan Astoria is 15 minutes or less from Midtown Manhattan. The N and W subways lines run through the heart of the neighborhood, above 31st Street. It's also a hop, skip, and short drive over the Triborough Bridge to Harlem and to the Bronx. My apt is a 5 minutes walk to the N/Q 30 Ave Subway stop and 15 minutes outside of midtown Manhattan.
