The SpaceThe pool house is on a lush green 5 acre estate surrounded by pastoral views. This second story cottage overlooks the 24 by 48 foot modern salt pool, kiddie pool, and spa and boasts a full length sunny patio on the second story and a deeply shaded pavilion with comfortable cushioned patio furniture at pool level. The pavilion is complete with with barbeque facilities, a generous outdoor stone fireplace and a second downstairs, outside accessible pool bathroom and shower. The pool house is one bedroom with a plush queen pillow top mattress, down pillows, and Egyptian cotton high thread count bedding. The living room has sofa-bed that pulls out to a queen size bed with Egyptian 600 count sheets and goose down pillows. The bedroom has an adjoining all tile bathroom with a large double headed shower, granite counter tops, and extra large capacity washer and dryer. This modern kitchenette has a large farm style apron front sink, convection microwave oven, and double drawer Fisher-Peykel dishwasher, double drawer refrigerator freezer with ice maker, generous white cabinets, travertine backsplash, and granite countertop, all in neutral colors complete the old world look. The living room, with darkly stained hand hewn beams, walnut colored genuine hardwood floor is surrounded by windows that overlook the pool and surrounding country side. Living room seating includes a couch, love seat and two wingback chairs by the second stone fireplace for lounging, reading or even watching the 42" flat screen satellite TV. Ceiling fans throughout as well as central heat and air conditioning. Couches can be used for additional sleeping area for young ones. Pool house overlooks a 50 foot grassy paddock available to folks who come to ride the many endurance trails. Check on your horse from the deck as often as desired. Poolhouse is very nicely appointed. Pets will be considered on a individual basis. Guest AccessOn the property, the guests have access to volleyball ping-pong swimming the spa the fire pit the vegetable gardens and the farm atmosphere. Interaction with GuestsSome of our guests have enjoyed more interaction than others. Some, want to go into the pool house and shut the blinds and come out three days later, especially honeymooners and newlyweds. Others will talk to us as we do our cleaning around the property. As guests have more more stays we get to know them better. With one couple my wife and I went to Yountville and had dinner at Botegas and toured the French laundry garden, but that was unusual. The NeighborhoodSince our home is like a resort, we enjoy staying home a lot, working in our garden, and enjoying the farm animals. One of our favorite things to do outside of the property is to go to the Empire mine in Grass Valley. Getting AroundTesla charger and outlets available for charging electric vehicles. The SpaceQueen bed sleeps 2 and is perfect for a traveler or someone who plans to be out most of the day. Private bathroom next to the quest bedroom. No pet's, please. This room is at the end of the hall and next to owners room. Guest AccessAccess to back yard for visiting or enjoying a beer or glass of wine at night. Interaction with GuestsI enjoy people. I am open to interaction and enjoy visiting but also respect your space. My feelings won't be hurt if you choose to have limited contact. If you would like to see the area, let me know. Perhaps, I can recommend something or provide a tour. The NeighborhoodOlder neighborhood from the 50's off of I-80. Very convenient for getting around town. Street has no sidewalks but it is in a very safe area. A few neighbors do not maintain their yards so it may not look inviting when you arrive at the upper street. The people who live here are mostly older and polite working class with a few families and well behaved kids. I do maintain my yard and my neighbors do next to and across from me. The back yard is beautiful and private. This is my childhood home I bought from my brothers and sisters. Remodeled in 2004. Getting AroundNo public transportation that is very convenient. There is a bus stop at the gas station that runs during working hours. Bowling alley, grocery store and many restaurants are with in an easy 1/4 mile walk. It is a travel stop area for people going to Tahoe. Other Things to NoteI do have three small terriers which are out door dogs. They are friendly and relaxed just like their owner. Bike and running trails 1 mile away. Kayaking is less then 10 minutes away. There is no TV in the room.

      It features 16 foot ceilings downstairs and 12 ft ceilings upstairs. Wide plank reclaimed pine floors throughout. Slate floors and pebble accents in bathrooms. Kitchen has a Subzero refrigerator, Viking range, dishwasher and under counter ice maker. There is plenty of room for dinning with seating for 10 at the main table and a second dining table that seats another 6 guest. The kitchen island has four more seats for breakfast or dinner. A brand new Sonos streaming music system has recently been installed through out the home. Enjoy music inside or outside on both our porches. Surround sound with big screen TVs upstairs and down. There are flat screen TVs in all of the bedrooms. The beautiful downstairs outside porch offers privacy and a place to sit and enjoy the relaxing life that comes with Watercoor. There is a new BBQ grill for outdoor cooking. The open floor plan of the home is a fabulous use of space, with the living, kitchen, and dinning areas all connected. It's the perfect amount of space for any size family or families. This fantastic home features four bedrooms in the main house. The master bedroom is located on the first floor with its beautiful bathroom with a huge shower and separate bathtub for relaxing. The additional bedrooms are located on the second floor living area. The bunk room has two sets of bunks built in, each bunk containing TWO bunk beds for a total of 4 beds, plus there is a new queen bed in the room also. Upscale restaurants are available in Uptown and Old town Auburn and nearby Old Town Newcastle (newcastle pizza the best ) Getting AroundSorry, there is no public transportation so you will need your car. But most everything is close by on interstate 80. There is the Amtrak train that goes from Auburn to Reno or Auburn to the Bay Area. Shopping at Roseville galleria is only 15 minutes away as is the Thunder Valley Casino for more fun.

      The SpaceAn exterior iron spiral staircase leads you to the front door of this cozy second story three room apartment. From the stoop and many of the windows you can see peekaboo local canyon views. The kitchen is vintage 1940s. It has three windows, a table with two chairs, a range, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. The kitchen is well stocked, and includes complimentary coffee, tea and a small assortment of spices. The bedroom, also the main room, has three windows, one on each side of the room. It is furnished with a queen sized bed as well as Pottery Barn night stands and bench. The bathroom is very small, but serviceable. All linens are 100% cotton. The bedroom and kitchen have solid bamboo floors, and the bathroom has tile floors and shower. Guests are welcome to use the outdoor barbecue and the private back yard garden. Guest AccessGuests will park on the street directly in front of the house or in the driveway, and then follow a short paved driveway that leads to the staircase to the apartment. Interaction with GuestsWe look forward to meeting guests, sharing stories, and offering recommendations on what to do in the area; however, we also respect our guests' desire for privacy. We can tailor the interaction to the preference of the guest. The NeighborhoodThe apartment is located in a quiet residential neighborhood walking distance from American River Canyon trails as well as downtown Auburn restaurants, theaters, shopping, etc. Being so close to the canyon, there is occasionally wildlife that ambles our way as well ultra runners, hikers, and cyclists. You may also hear the nostalgic sound of the train whistle during your stay. Getting AroundThere is a connection to the city bus line in Old Town Auburn, which is within walking distance, for the enthusiastic walker, from the apartment. Other Things to NoteThe location of the apartment is ideal for anyone who wants a simple and peaceful retreat where they can enjoy the pleasures of a small town and the splendor American River Canyon (aka Auburn State Recreation Area) without getting in their car. It is also a great home base for day trips to local gold rush towns, wineries, festivals and a multitude of outdoor adventure points. A number of folks have asked about bringing their young children. Although we love children, unfortunately, the spiral staircase and other aspects of the apartment are not well suited to young children, so I would advise you to look at another option if this is your situation. Finally, please be aware that because we are located at the top of a hill, we do hear the sound of the train whistle periodically from the apartment. We are used to it, and I haven't heard from any of our guests that this is a problem, but you should be aware of this fact.

The NeighborhoodThe homes in my neighborhood were built in the 1930's and 1940's. We are located just out of the city limits. I love the convenience of being close to restaurants, the movie theater and grocery stores yet having that country setting. There are nice walking trials right out of my front door. A reservoir in the neighborhood gives you a lovely area for walking, fishing and viewing the beautiful sunsets! You hear the ducks and geese fly over in the evening and early mornings. Getting AroundI am blocks away from the Amtrak Station and the Public Bus System in Auburn. Walking distance to stores, restaurants and coffee shops. Other Things to NoteI have a small refrigerator for your use and a Hotpot to heat water for your morning coffee or tea.
