The SpaceAkey Valley is a vacation rental home located in scenic Richland County in southwest Wisconsin. The 130+ year old farmhouse has over is 4,000 square feet to enjoy. The home is fully furnished and sleeps 10 comfortably with five bedrooms (four bedrooms upstairs and one bedroom on the main level): two queen beds, two full beds and two twin beds and plenty of space available for air mattresses. Move in and make yourself at home for the week or weekend. There are so many things to do in southwest Wisconsin and the driftless area. Enjoy Frank Lloyd Wright destinations like House on the Rock and Taliesin, along with the outdoor American Players Theater and great golf at The House on the Rock Golf Resort in Spring Green (only 15 minutes away). Enjoy fishing? Richland County alone has over 270 miles of class I and class II trout stream. Along with the Wisconsin River and nearby fisheries, this area is the ultimate getaway. Within a 20 minutes drive, enjoy the Wisconsin River, Willow Creek, Bear Creek, Whitemound Lake, Ash Creek, Melancthon Creek and Mill Creek. If you want to drive a little farther, you can explore Blue River, Fennimore Fork, Black Earth Creek, West Fork of the Kickapoo River, Billings Creek and Devils Lake and State Park. If golf is more your style, you can golf a different course every day of your stay with multiple courses all within a short drive. Visit The House on the Rock Golf Resort in Spring Green (15 minutes), The Baraboo Country Club, Baraboo (55 minutes), The Reedsburg Country Club, Reedsburg (40 minutes), Viroqua Hills Golf Course, Viroqua (45 minutes) and the West Brook Hills Golf Course in Plain (25 minutes). The Akey Valley farmhouse is over 130+ years old. We offer great accommodations but please know it is not new construction. The home includes a living room, dining room, sitting room, two bathrooms (both on the main level) and fully equipped recently remodeled kitchen with wall oven, cook top, oversized refrigerator with French doors, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and other small appliances like waffle maker, toaster, popcorn maker, and a tabletop George Forman grill. All cooking utensils, silverware and dishware are included and guests may bring in and prepare their own food. Bed linens and towels are provided. The house also includes a 26x26 great room addition that’s perfect for any gathering or activity. Some things we don't have: cable or dish (we do have a TV). We hope our guests enjoy the beautiful scenery of the settings and have a time to set back, relax and truly get away. The farmhouse is perfect for quilters, scrapbookers, family reunions, retreats or small weddings! Enjoy country living; take in the beauty of the area and be amazed at the peace and quiet of the country. Madison is 60 minutes east, Viroqua is an hour west and La Crosse is 90 minutes west. Interaction with GuestsThe property is still an working farm. Eric and Amy do not live on the property but Amy's parents, Bill and Marilynn, will stop in from time to time. Bill has turned into the unofficial welcome wagon! He'll stop by to say hello and make sure you've got what you need. If you are interested in learning about farming, he's more than happy to chat. No worries if not, as he'll be on his way to check on the cows. The NeighborhoodTravel time (ish): Madison 60 minutes, La Crosse 90 minutes, Chicago 3 hours and 30 minutes, Twin Cities 4 hours, Rochester, MN 3 hours and Wisconsin Dells 60 minutes. As kids, we dreamed about getting out of "the country" and moving to the big city. As we grow older, we realize how lucky we are to have grown up in such a beautiful area of Wisconsin. The SpaceThe Barn house has a fully stocked kitchen, living room and dining room that comfortably accommodate 14 people in an open setting. Enjoy the forest around you as you relax in our outdoor hot tub or have dinner on the grill with the seating area on the large deck. The Barn House includes a private saloon complete with a pool table, foosball table, dart board, and juke box. Guest AccessOur 1000 acres are available to explore on foot, mountain bike, or horseback. (We do not currently provide horses). Enjoy the sightings of deer, birds, and other forest creatures from the trails or the deck of the Barn House. Wintertime brings your own personal sledding hills and snow shoes for the trails are highly recommended. The property includes a sand volleyball court, campfire pit, yard games, ping pong table, riding arena and large open green space for some touch football, kickball, or frisbee golf. Interaction with GuestsOur caretaker will contact you the week of your arrival to answer any last minute questions you may have and arrange your check-in time to personally great you upon your arrival. She will also show you how to operate the heat/air conditioning, televisions, and make sure you know where to find everything you'll need for your stay. The NeighborhoodAvoca is located 45 minutes from Madison, 15 minutes from Spring Green, an hour from Wisconsin Dells, 4.5 hours from Chicago, 2.5 hours from Milwaukee, and 4.5 hours from Minneapolis. A short 5-15 minute drive in either direction of the house will take you to local restaurants and shops. Nearby is the Taliesin, House on the Rock (including golf resort), American Players Theatre, canoe & tubing rentals for the Wisconsin River, and Govenor Dodge State Park. Getting AroundPersonal transportation is needed as we are located in the country. Shuttle transportation can be arranged with our caretaker to local attractions. Other Things to NoteWe provide all of our own firewood for the campfires. We are a bring your own horse facility and have appropriate outdoor and indoor paddocks to accommodate them.

The SpaceThe Pioneer House is located at Big Valley Ranch, a private 1000 acre property with 50 miles of trails for adventures on foot, bike or horseback. (We currently do not provide horses) The Pioneer House has it's own campfire pit and amazing hill for sledding in the winter. The outdoor deck overlooks the sledding hill and surrounding forest. Grill and dine on the large deck or simply relax in our outdoor seating area. Guest AccessOur caretaker will contact you the week of your arrival to arrange your personalized check-in experience. We will walk you through the house to make sure you know how to use the heat/air conditioning and to make you aware of where everything is that you'll need during your stay. The NeighborhoodBig Valley Ranch is located 45 minutes from Madison, 2.5 hours from Milwaukee, 4.5 hours from Chicago and Minneapolis, 1.5 hours from the Wisconsin Dells. The SpaceThis large one room cabin has a small fridge, microwave, table with chairs, futon, television, and three full size beds. The bathroom is located outside of the bunk house, a short walk away. The "Shower House" bathroom has tile floor, shower stall, toilet, and granite countertop sink. The Bunk House does have heat and air conditioning. A grill is located just outside next to the picnic pavilion that holds picnic tables, another refrigerator, ping pong table, and yard games. Large green space across from Bunk House is great for touch football, frisbee, and other outdoor games. A private sledding hill in the winter is also across the field from the bunk house. Guest AccessThe picnic pavilion, sand volleyball court, campfire pit, and riding arena are all available to the Bunk House guests. There are 50 miles of trails across our 1000 acres of hills, valleys, plains and forest that can be explored via foot, snow shoe, mountain bike or horseback. (We are a bring your own horse facility) Interaction with GuestsOur caretaker will arrange a personalized check-in and will be there to great you upon your arrival. The NeighborhoodCanoe & tube rentals for the Wisconsin river are close by. Along with Governor Dodge State Park. The lower WI river way is within walking distance from Dober's Place, If you enjoy canoeing,hunting, fishing, bird-watching or any type of outdoor recreation, this stretch of the river holds some of the best for you. Bald eagles are common and the fall fishing can be spectacular! We are located 15 miles west of SpringGreen Wi. or 12 east of Richland Center Wi. This rental will meet all of your needs. The master bedroom has a queen sized bed and an en suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed and the adjoining loft will sleep one. The main living area has a queen pullout sleeper. The kitchen is great for cooking, complete with breakfast bar and table that sits six. Or if you prefer, have your coffee out on the patio to enjoy the sunrise!!! We have just finished the rec room or 4th bedroom. It has a sectional full sleeper, fire place, poker table, regulation dart board ,46'flat screen,dvd player and a popcorn machine shower,toilet,and sink. Also just installed a ductless air conditioner system so all rooms are comfy . Plus a new fire pit. Our normal months are from March 1 to Nov 30 .

Big Valley Ranch's Log Cabin sits hilltop on our 1000 acre property. Fifty + miles of trails are yours to discover on foot or by mountain or fat bike, snow shoe, or horseback. The Log Cabin is one of four homes on Big Valley Ranch and features two bedrooms, one bath, kitchen, living room, patio with dining area, and it's very own rock formed fire pit. The rustic cabin decor and windows in every room reminds you whether inside or out, you are surrounded by nature. Our cabin has one bedroom located on the first floor with a walk out to the back yard patio. The second bedroom is a loft on the second floor accessible by a permanent ladder and overlooks the dining and kitchen area. The living room had plenty of seating including a pull out sofa to sleep two additional people if desired. There is a wood burning stove in the living room as well as a flat screen TV. If the rain brings you inside, enjoy some board or card games or catch a game on ESPN. But when the weather is nice, there is plenty to enjoy outside from the trellis to the trails! We are a bring your own horse facility, so we do not currently provide horses. We also do not allow hunting or motorized vehicles/toys on the trails. We are a short drive from Governor Dodge State Park, where you can have fun on your own equipment if desired. We do have plenty of outdoor games such as bags, frisbee golf, crochet available to you. For winter fun, the giant hill right out front is perfect for sledding or snow shoe at your leisure. Please note this house does not have air conditioning. Please note our trails are closed from October 29th to December 1st for hunting season. All other property amenities are still open.
