Beautiful two story modern home close to Auckland city, New Zealand and all amenities. This home has 4 bedrooms, three toilets and bathrooms and a lovely garden. Two minute walk to the bus stop. Buses run every 15- 20 minutes to city. This home is beautifully decorated inside. Mother Pratima and twenty five year old son Ashneel occupy this home. Our guest will love the ambiance of this home. My son plays guitar and loves going to gymnasium while Pratima loves socializing, cooking, singing, and broadcasting a women's program on radio each week. In my leisure time I write cook books and create devotional CD's for charity. I am very involved in community work. I was awarded Queens Service Medal in 2008 for my voluntary services to my community. As a Justice of the Peace I provide voluntary service to my community. I enjoy my role as a Marriage celebrant most. Interpreting and Translating is my profession. You can be guaranteed a safe and comfortable stay at all times with fun loving, caring and friendly family of two.

Hi, we are a family with two children (8 years old and 5 years old), two cats and two chickens, in a quiet location approx 8km from the city centre. The bus route into the city is just 800m from home. We are an environmentally aware family with our own vegetable garden, chickens and a love of good home cooked food. Our sunny home is in a quiet street and is set back from the road. We're surrounded by many trees so you can view some of the native bird life while you're here. We have four bedrooms and two bathrooms with a sitting room that has great views of the setting sun. There are decks both front and back to enjoy the view from both directions. I love to bake so there are always some tasty treats around!

This place has a front and back yard too, the rooms are furnished and neat and tidy. The bus stop is very close and so are other amenities like a medical centre, shops, and schools and college as well. I am a friendly and caring person and would make a good host.

The SpaceYour room is on the ground floor, and looks out onto trees. There's a comfortable king size bed and room in the cupboard to hang your clothes. You'll also have a private bathroom. We like it when guests treat our light and sunny house as their own home - you don't have to stay in your room all the time! We have a lounge with a fire to keep you warm on winter evenings, a separate TV lounge, a book corner, and of course all the usual amenities you'd expect- free wifi, good quality bedding etc. We also have Lightbox and Netflix which you're welcome to watch if you need a night in. You can also be assured that the house will be clean! Our house is private and quiet, with the added bonus of being close to shops, cafes, and multiple public transport options. We're really happy to give you any information about things to do and see in Auckland - we both love to go out and usually know what's going on in the city. Guest AccessWe'll provide cereal, fruit, toast, tea and coffee for your breakfast and of course you are welcome to use the kitchen to prepare other meals. We might even cook you dinner if you're around when we are! You can also help yourself to the herb garden. We also have two guest AT Hop cards - public transport smart cards - which you are welcome to use during your stay. Interaction with GuestsThis is our own home, so we will be around and hope that you will feel like you are in a friend's home. We are both freelancers, so we may be working from home when you are here; on the other hand, we might be out working at times apart from "normal" office hours. We enjoy meeting new people so like to chat with our guests; however we understand you might also want time to yourself whilst on holiday! The NeighborhoodAvondale is a very mixed neighbourhood in lots of ways; it's really ethnically diverse, and there's a mix of big old houses alongside smaller flats. It's interesting! Our place is smackbang halfway between the Avondale shops, which features a good little cafe and an independent cinema, and New Lynn, which has supermarkets, a great second-hand record store, a weekly night market, and a shopping mall. There's also a good range of cafes and restaurants nearby, within a 10-15min walk or 3min bus ride. Getting AroundPart of why we moved here was because it's super convenient for public transport. We're about a 20 min bus ride from Karangahape Road. The bus stop is 1-2 min walk down the road and buses run every 10 - 15 mins during the day. We're also about a 12min walk to the train station, which will take you to Kingsland, Mt. Eden, Newmarket and Britomart in a jiffy. If you're travelling with a vehicle, we have a parking space next to the house for you to use. We're a 20min drive from the airport, (you can also get from / to the airport using public transport, although a taxi can be the same price per person if you're travelling in a couple) and 30mins from the magnificent West Coast beaches - but only five mins from the harbour beaches at Pt. Chevalier. It's important for you to note that we're not in the middle of the city - so if using public transport or driving isn't for you, we'd probably recommend finding somewhere that is! Other Things to NoteWe're happy to have children or a third person in the room, but note it isn't particularly large so it will be cosy if you'd like to put an airbed on the floor - just get in touch if you want to know more about this.

The SpacePROPERTY INFORMATION: We'd like to welcome you to our large, modern and sunny home. Located in a quiet street of the city's inner west, 8km to downtown Auckland; 1.5km (15mins walk) to Mt Albert Unitec and 2-3 minutes from all of Auckland's motorways. Set away from it all, our home is both peaceful and private. Located down a long driveway off a quiet no-exit street, the gardens create a feel of a tropical getaway, yet we are located not far from downtown Auckland. We are convenient to central Auckland's major transport routes and shopping centres. Our street runs off a main arterial route (and only 2 mins drive to the motorway) so there are plenty of buses heading (mainly) to and from the city centre. Most of the bus routes go through Pt Chevalier and past Auckland Zoo & Western Springs Park, terminating at Britomart/Ferry Building. There is a pharmacy, bakery, Chinese restaurant and café/bistro just a short walk away. We are also not far from Pt Chevalier which has a supermarket, some takeaway bars, bistros, indian restaurant, bakeries, library, cafes and a couple of pubs. We have a large park just across the road from our house - a great place for a walk. THE ROOM We travel a lot ourselves, so we appreciate the need for time to yourselves to unwind so have tried to provide a comfortable, studio apartment like accommodation for our guests providing you with your own private area to sit and relax in. Our spacious near new house will provide you the best of modern living with a large bedroom available for rent. The large room has a king size bed with electric blanket and heater available (for those cooler nights), large wardrobe and private en-suite. French doors lead from the bedroom to a courtyard which boasts sun all morning - a great place to enjoy your breakfast in the summer. You will also have your own guest lounge which has a fridge, microwave, TV and tea & coffee making facilities (instant and filtered) as well as a supply of crockery & cutlery. We have made it as easy as possible for you to heat up or cook basic meals in the privacy of your own lounge/kitchen area, and for those guests staying long term we are happy to share our family kitchen. Your bedroom, bathroom and small lounge can all be closed off to provide your own private studio type accommodation, whenever you want. Meanwhile, when we are at home, we are just beyond the door. The guest lounge opens out to a grassed area and garden at the front of the house where you can enjoy the afternoon sun. BREAKFAST: A choice of English muffins and breads, variety of jams/spreads, cereals, yoghurt, fruit juice, tea, and either instant or filtered coffee. HOME - GENERAL - Wireless internet available - Sky TV (MYSKY) in downstairs lounge - 30+ channels - Washing machine available for guest use (but we would prefer no use of drier which is old & expensive to run - iron & ironing board - For long term guests, we are happy to come to an arrangement to share our kitchen. Please discuss upon arrival. - Third person - we can accommodate a third person/child on a comfy foldaway bed (for a small fee) but please discuss at time of booking - There are two outdoor seating areas you are welcome to use, one is flooded with the morning sun and the other gets afternoon sun. If there's anything else you need - all you have to do is ask! ABOUT US Sue works part time at Auckland airport and is sometimes able to offer airport pickup/dropoff (depending upon the flight times and her roster). Mike works as a (TV) broadcast engineer - he is passionate about his music and genealogy and is also an avid reader. We are fairly quiet people who both love to travel, visiting new places and meeting new people. We have hosted many international guests over the years but this is only our 3rd year with Airbnb - we look forward to welcoming you into our home and aim to make your stay enjoyable. NB: we have one pet - a cat called Max; Neither Mike or Sue are smokers and we would ask that there is NO Smoking inside the house (however, you can smoke outside but please make sure that you collect the butts and dispose of them with the garbage). For guests staying more than a week, we will change bedding and towels weekly on a mutually convenient day. Guest AccessGuests have access to all outdoor areas and seating. Limited access to our family kitchen - by arrangement only, and only when one of us is home. Interaction with GuestsBoth Mike & Sue have travelled NZ from top to bottom and we are more than happy to share our knowledge of our beautiful country, offer suggestions and answer any questions you might have. When our work hours permit, we do try to organise at least one shared meal with our guests while they stay with us. It's a great way to get to know each other better. The NeighborhoodCentral Auckland is an isthmus, and we live in one of Auckland's inner west suburbs which is close to all the motorways into and out of Auckland. Our quiet, no exit street has mostly older homes, well established trees and lots of bird life. We even have some native tuis (birds) living nearby. Access to Heron Park is directly opposite our driveway.w Getting AroundJust 400m away (at the top of our street) is a bus stop which will take you into the Central City. As the bus stop is serviced by multiple bus routes, you will never have to wait long for a bus. Alternatively, the Western Train Line is only a 9-10 minute walk - the train will take you into Newmarket & Britomart via Kingsland & Newmarket. Auckland is only serviced by 2 main train lines so we are fortunate that we have the option of train OR bus into the city. Other Things to NoteWe understand that some guests may be arriving into Auckland on flights that arrive very early in the morning. While our checkin time is 12:00 noon, we are sometimes able to offer an earlier checkin time - please enquire well in advance.
