Contact: Noeline my Mother-in-Law HISTORY of Woodchoppers Inn Built in 1890 This is the first house My (Kelly) Great-Great Grandparents built when they first came over to New Zealand. As you walk in the front door the two lads in the pictures on wall are my Great-Uncles, the girl standing in front of the house in the lounge picture is my Great-Grandma Elsie who lived till 95 long years and made the best scones! The kitchen and bathroom were added in the 80s, traditionally toilet was outside and all cooking was achieved on coal range. We have purposefully left the wee cottage in the old style as it does not hurt to be reminded of the simple things in life. Please also note that as Sydney dwellers most of the year round, for us the Woodchoppers Inn Cottage is our getaway from the busy ness, so we have actively decided to keep our cottage simple and have no T.V or Wifi instead we encourage our guests to; - read a book - go for a walk - swim at the river - play boardgames or cards - do a crossword - visit local museum - visit local pub for a meal and a yarn to locals - go for a bike ride - play Jenga - go for game of golf - fishing - gold panning Enjoy your stay at our wee historical gem!
