If you are interested in experiencing one of Ecuador's great beaches without the rush, the costs and structure of tours and hotels, come to Beira Mar a beautiful and exotic private beach house available for daily of weekly rentals. The price of the house includes cooking, housekeeping services (not included groceries) and a concierge that will have everything ready at the beach (chairs, beach umbrellas, etc) every day. He can help you buy minor groceries and fresh fish when needed. The concierge is in charge of maintenance and is available 24-7. The lady in charge of housekeeping and cooking is great preparing local cuisine with plantain and fresh fish. Having said this, Beira Mar is more like a hotel than a house rental given the fact that you DO NOT have to worry for preparing food and cleaning the house but it has all the advantages of a house rental (privacy, big and comfortable spaces, no pressure for schedules of restaurants, check out times, etc). If you are coming with your family it is cool and fun place to be. The beach with a moribugy or surfboard is great. If you just want to enjoy the waves have fun. You can prepare a seafood barbecue in the bamboo/hammock place designed for this purpose o just relax and enjoy the breeze from the ocean at the beach with a cold drink. If your kids are between 2 and 9 years old, you can ask the concierge to display a couple of water games in the garden. If you are coming in a romantic trip, sunsets and stars at night will be the perfect framework for your retreat. Backing onto seafront, Beira Mar is situated within the Machalilla National Park, one of the few areas in Ecuador where you can find jungle habitat next to the ocean. From the bedroom one can appreciate a great view of 'Hangman Islet' of the Pacific Ocean to the west and the green tropical hills surrounding the Ayampe basin to the East. Famed for its birdlife, ancient dry forest and pre-historic civilizations, there is no better place to enjoy a sunset than on the beautiful 4km deserted beach in front of Beira Mar. Facing west, the 6pm sun-downer becomes a kind of ritual! Looking out to sea, you will be peering into the very waters where one of the most famous pirate hauls in history took place, when Francis Drake successfully raided the Spanish treasure ship that had left Lima, laden with Inca gold, silver and jewels. There was so much that legends recount of silver buried somewhere on Isla de la Plata. Beira Mar is surrounded by 21,500 square feet of lush, tropical garden situated on 3.2 miles of beach front. The house has three bathrooms, a master bedroom and two additional rooms that accommodate up to 8 people. Just bring your swimsuit, and enjoy you stay. Peaceful and friendly staff members from the local community will take care of you while in Beira Mar and help you feel at home. The SpaceA communal home with a privileged view within the tiny and cozy town of Ayampe, Manabi. Located right in front of the beach break! Our place is your place - a place where you feel at home even in a foreign country. That was the beginning of the idea of building a communal house, where you live together like a shared apartment, but everybody has their own room with their own bathroom and balcony. A house where everybody shows respect, so rules are not really needed. Where people of different nations live together like a big family. At La Casa, we offer travelers a place to stay long term. The perfect place for preparing meals with fresh local produce & sharing stories about the day's adventures with your family and friends! Casa Esperanto boasts a chill "beach life" vibe characterized by the colorful hand-painted art featured throughout the house. The stunning mosaic spiral staircase leads up to the second floor where you'll find the two (2) guest rooms and a private bathroom (shared by the guests). A washing machine is also located on the second floor for convenient access. The spacious guest rooms are true havens for rest & relaxation. Each room is furnished with two (2) bunkbeds and provide flexible sleeping options for guests. West-facing windows bring in ample sunlight during the day & provide gorgeous views of the sunset in the afternoon. Each room is equipped with a ceiling fan and an AC for temperature control. The second floor balcony presents iconic views of the Pacific Ocean & endless moments of 'tranquillo' from the cozy hammocks hung along the hardwood terrace. This is a perfect place to drink a cup of coffee and check out the morning waves or enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sun disappear into the horizon. A sloping hill behind the house offers guests a peaceful & private spot, perfect for meditating, enjoying the vistas overlooking Las Tunas beach, or sharing a romantic moment with a special someone. Casa Esperanto also provides guests with access to a private bamboo hut located directly on the beach. Here you can seek shelter from the sun after a stroll on the beach, relax in a hammock after an exhilarating surf session, or simply hang out & catch the amazing sunsets while enjoying a beer. You will discover first- hand that Las Tunas offers the best sunsets around! There are endless adventures available for guests visiting Las Tunas regardless of the time of year. Explore the beaches along Ruta del Spondylus, go whale watching or visit La Isla de La Plata from Puerto Lopez, embark on a snorkeling excursion in Salango, or observe the local wild life while hiking through the Machalilla National Park. Looking to add a little more excitement to your trip? Then head to the party town of Montanita to experience the local night life! There is truly something for everyone at Casa Esperanto! Guest AccessGuests will have access to the full kitchen and dining area. Plates, silverware, pots and pans are available to prepare meals at home. As local drinking water is not suitable for consumption, filtered water can be purchased at one of the local neighborhood shops. A water dispenser is also available in the house for use with the larger 5 gallon bottles of filtered water. This is the most economical way to purchase water (versus individual liter bottles) and are also available for purchase from one of the neighbors. There are two bathrooms in the house, one located on each floor, and are shared among the guests staying at the house. Please be respectful of privacy & cleaning up after yourself. A washing machine is also available in the second story bathroom for guests to use. You will need to provide your own laundry soap. As there is no dryer, guests will need to hang clothing to air dry. Guests have access to the second floor balcony, as well as to the hammocks, and are welcomed to enjoy the views anytime! The private gated yard features an outdoor shower, situated beneath a coconut tree, for rinsing off after a visit to the beach or surfing the waves. During peak season, when coconuts are mature for picking, guests are welcome to enjoy the local fruit from the palm trees if they wish! There is nothing more refreshing than delicious coconut water to replenish after a day of surfing! Off street parking is also available to guests in the private garage (accommodates 1 car) or in the private driveway on the property. Street parking also is perfectly safe in this quiet neighbor so there are plenty of secure parking options if there are multiple cars with a group. Wifi internet is available throughout the house for guests to use. Please note that internet services WILL ONLY BE PROVIDED for confirmed reservations of 7+ nights. Casa Esperanto owns a private bamboo hut on the beach. This hut is located near Restaurante D'jimmy's and is clearly marked with a logo sign. You are welcome to enjoy this spot any time! Interaction with GuestsAs the host spends 6 months in Ecuador and 6 months in Sweden, he is available year-round 24/7 via email to answer questions and address concerns. During the peak season (December - May) the host resides in Ecuador and will be available to assist guests more personally (via phone or in person as needed) to provide advice about local activities & tours, travel plans and getting from point A to B, and helping plan special events (as needed). **PLEASE NOTE: The property owner, Jorge, may require the use of his PRIVATE ROOM at the Casa Esperanto property on occasion during peak season. Please contact us directly with inquires or to request further information. The NeighborhoodCasa Esperanto is located just a quick 1 minute walk from the Las Tunas beach, which is a quiet beach well known for great surfing & whale watching. There are several fantastic restaurants located within walking distance and include a pizzeria, sea food and cevicherias, greek cuisine, and juice bars. The neighboring town of Ayampe also provides additional options for culinary delights like sushi, Italian cuisine, and vegatarian/vegan dining options. Guests can book tours with locals to explore the beach on horseback, kayak to the Isla de Los Ahorcados, learn to surf, enjoy yoga, or snorkel around the Salango Island. The town of Las Tunas is tranquil and the neighborhood is quiet. Locals are very friendly and welcoming of foreigners visiting their town. Most locals do not speak English so if you don't speak Spanish, a smile goes a long way in establishing good rapport! Getting AroundFrom Las Tunas, guests can commute to local towns via the public bus (the Green ManglarAlto bus) from the main highway. The bus will pick people up anywhere along the road, all you need to do is signal them by waving your hand as they approach. Bus fare ranges depending on your destination but a one way trip will cost anywhere from $0.75 to $3. Local shared taxis are also available from the main highway and are quicker than the bus. Taxis run from Las Tunas to Puerto Lopez and cost $1 per person. Private taxi's can be called to bring you to local destinations as well. These cost a bit more money but can be worth it for the time savings! It is recommended to negotiate and confirm the final fare price before departure. Casa Esperanto is located 4 hours from Guayquil. The infrastructure is good, providing reliable roads from the city to the coast. You can get to Las Tunas via car, bus or private taxi. **Specific arrival directions will be provided to guests upon confirmation of their reservations. We can also help recommend the best form of transportation for your trip to ensure you have a stress-free commute to Las Tunas. This gives it a delightful flavor not found anywhere else on the southern Ecuador beach coast. 17 kilometers south of Puerto Lopez and even closer to Machalilla National Park, Ayampe abounds in natural wonders--sea shells, brightly colored rocks and interesting plants. Birds are everywhere, pelicans and cormorants vie for fish in the river and the ocean. Our two distinctive small islands that rise a few miles offshore backdrop a stunning sunset. The two rocky islands are known as La Tortuga and La Iguana. They are well-known for excellent diving and snorkeling among the coral reef. Whale watching starts the end of June/ early July and continues until November. Birds flock to the river, ocean and mangroves, so you’ll see gulls, cormorants, ducks, even flamingos. If you are the more active type, adventure and exploration await you in the hills, in or near the water. There’s something for everyone’s taste and activity level. Some activities include; surfing, surf lessons, river walks, kayaking, bird watching, hiking, spanish lessons, yoga, whale watching (seasonal), biking, national parks, restaurants, Agua Blanca sulphur baths, Isla de Plata, and with a little luck you may see whales performing their acrobatics from the beach or even Venus at sunrise from the balcony of your room!! Getting AroundThe green Manglar Alto public transit bus runs north and south around every 30 minutes on the main coastal highway Ruta del Sol. Taxi's are also available in certain areas, and mototaxi's can be found in nearby towns like Puerto Lopez. Other Things to NoteThere are food trucks that usually come once a day to sell fresh produce, and fish. (items differ day to day).
