Staying in a waterfront place automatically lowers your blood pressure. Paddle around the pond in boats and a paddle-board, fish, read, relax in the sun, hammock or on the porch, hang out and simmer down.
We're close enough to Boston to get here quickly, and far enough to feel like you're in New Hampshire.
If you're a hearty eater and would like a full cooked breakfast, please ask if it's available that day. Continental breakfast and plenty of coffee served daily. Interaction with GuestsWe interact as much as or as little as the guest prefers. The guest bedrooms are on the second floor, secluded from our master suite on the first floor, with built-in privacy. There is a master bathroom, so the other bathroom is all yours. The NeighborhoodWe are removed from the hustle and bustle of Boston. Surround sound includes frogs, birds and often a gentle breeze. Walk or hike at nearby nature reserves; bike on a 10 mile long rail trail 2 miles away; while having handy access to Boston, Worcester, NH, Route 495 (7 miles away) Groton School, Lawrence Academy, and Fruitlands.
We are within earshot of trains [1 mile away], and on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the firing range of the Air Gun and Sportsmen's Club [1/4 mile away]. Getting AroundYes - commuter rail is 2 miles away. We will pick you up if we can. Other Things to NoteIf you would like a full breakfast, ASK! And we will provide it if possible.
It's easy going here. We are flexible and will leave you to enjoy the surroundings.
Escape from the city to relax, swim and boat on the pond. The house is 15 feet from the banks of Sandy Pond, 2 miles from a 10 mile bike trail to NH, and 2 miles from commuter rail to Boston. We are kid-friendly, and ask that children be closely supervised because of the adjacent pond. A spacious screened in porch is ready for relaxing and bird watching. The outdoor shower is beside the garden.
Guest rooms include the Sunflower room with a queen size bed, and twin beds and a pack-n-play in the Kristen Room. An upstairs office can accomodate a queen size air mattress.
There's a double bed futon on the first floor and queen foam mattress for even more sleeping space. WiFi, GLBTQ gluten-free/vegan/vegetarian friendly.
Guests use the main bathroom. We use the bathroom in the master suite.
There are window air conditioners in the three upstairs bedrooms. Usually ceiling fans and a lake breeze suffice.
