The Space"Nestled just 50 miles off the coast of Florida lies a gem in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, dubbed by Christopher Columbus as “Gran Bajamar" which is Spanish for “Great Shallows" and others as “The Venice of the Caribbean" – a crown jewel of the Bahama Islands, Grand Bahama Island. According to the Official Ministry of Tourism of The Bahamas: “There's something for everyone on Grand Bahama Island. With a distinct mix of historic appeal, modern attractions and ecological wonders, your visit is sure to be memorable. On Grand Bahama Island, you can combine a glamorous vacation at an upscale resort with the charming allure of a small town. Boasting one of the world's largest underwater cave systems, three national parks, endless beaches and crisp blue water, Grand Bahama Island has it all."
Grand Bahama Island's unique charm is manifested in that fact that this is the only island in The Bahamas where you can truly get the best of both worlds – the fast paced developing city with a bustling tourist district with major hotels and restaurants. Then there's the “real" Grand Bahama, a sub-tropical paradise with modern, well maintained infrastructure, beautiful beaches, small bars and shops and the ideal place for a vacation to get away, relax and rejuvenate.
When vacationing to the island, if one wants a way to get away from the Tourist-like vacation filled with staying at a major hotel and sight-seeing, and experience the island like a local while staying safe and being close to everything, then look no further than the luxurious one bedroom condo of John and Annabel Beswick located at Cove House.
Location, Location, Location – a simple 15 minute ride away from Grand Bahama International Airport or a 25 minute ride away from Freeport Harbour will bring you to the welcoming front door steps of your new lovely home while staying on Grand Bahama Island. What makes the condo twice as perfect is the fact that it's a 10 minute drive away from the inner city/down town area allowing you to experience the real Grand Bahama, a 7 minute rive away from the nightlife district of Port Lucaya Market Place, a 5 minute drive away from Coral Beach and a 3 minute drive away from the Williams Town Community, which boast of its own beach and a $2 Bar – yes you read that correctly, a $2 bar. By staying at this condo, you are literally right in the heart of the island and a few moments away from everything needed to have a wonderful, and most pleasantly memorable vacation.
John Bestwick is an all-around stand up gentleman in every sense of the word and his lovely wife Annabel truly cares about creating the best possible experience for their guest.
Booking: Booking the property is done with extreme ease they are very prompt in replying to booking requests and inquiries. The entire booking process took less than 24 hours and this was done the week of Christmas! The day of the stay, the Beswicks were kind enough to send a complimentary email checking in on how the stay was, making sure I had the password for the wifi and was even available for a telephone call and guided me through the process of turning on the breaker system. They are a very sincere couple who delivers exactly what is promised and goes above and beyond to make their home, your home.
Luckily, they've also found someone just like them and for your comfort and convenience, she also lives on the island and she's in the person of Ms. Helena Burrows, the property manager. Ms. Burrows does a superb job in full filling the wishes of The Beswicks and goes out of her way to ensure you are settled in and all ready for your vacation. You are greeted at the airport or harbor with a friendly pick up and warm greeting given your keys. My stay was the week of Christmas and in the same spirit of warmth and friendliness of The Bahamian people, Ms. Burrows even invited me to her home on Christmas to fellowship on with her family. She's available via cell phone and is there to answer any and all questions you may have about the property or the island.
