The SpaceWe are conveniently located right off Hwy 285, but don't let that fool you. There is tons of wildlife right outside the door: deer, elk, bear (very occasionally, but be careful to leave no food in your vehicle), and fox. We have views of Kenosha pass from the house and living room. You can access trails from our front door, whether you want a leisurely stroll down to the ponds (through the Aspens) or a more rigorous hike/bike ride through the trees and on the ridge (views of Pike's Peak!). At the ponds you can fish (catch & release) or ice skate in the winter. The downstairs (your space) is private from the upstairs (our space). You have your own entrance. Your bedroom has one full-size bed, and the couch/futon in your living room can sleep up to two additional people. You may occasionally hear our footsteps, but we'll be pretty quiet. We've discovered that it's very convenient to hit the ski slopes from our cabin - avoid the ski traffic and take the back way to Breckenridge! In addition to skiing, there's tons more to do in our area! In fact, we've recently found out that we are very close to several world-famous disc golf courses (Bailey, Conifer, Pine Colorado). If your stay is longer, we may need to access the washer/dryer downstairs (your bedroom is always private). We have recently added a $20 cleaning fee. We are happy to reimburse this to you after your stay, provided you follow our house rules, are quiet, and leave the place clean. Guest AccessIf you need additional refrigerator/freezer space (there's a small one downstairs for your use), we may be able to store some items upstairs. If your stay is longer, we may need to access the washer/dryer downstairs (your bedroom is always private). Interaction with GuestsWe live upstairs, and we're happy to give you as much privacy as you'd like. We can keep completely to ourselves or visit . . . whatever you're comfortable with. We're happy to share about local trails and other things to do in the area. The NeighborhoodWe do have neighbors, and they are very friendly but give you privacy! Please be respectful of their privacy as well. Other Things to NoteWe obviously live in the mountains, and there are stone steps up to the entrance. There are also wild animals about. While we have never had any problems, by confirming a reservation, you are assuming all responsibility for your safety (agree to not hold us liable) while staying at our house.

The SpaceThis log cabin was built in the early 1930's by the Colorado Civilian Conservation Corps with trees that were in the surrounding area. The cabin is off the beaten path on it's own private road. There are a few other cabins in the immediate area that are situated in such a way that my cabin is private with the exception of one cabin that can be seen (that cabin is used sporadically and you never know they are there). Surrounding the cabin is a stunning mountain atmosphere of towering pines, aspen and spruce trees and the freshest air you could want! The stream is what makes the property so special - the sound is captivating and the view of it is perfect. The cabin is situated on the lot to take full advantage of the view and sound of creek which runs through the property. The cabin has been added onto over the years but maintains it's quaint and rustic feel. Furnishings complement the cozy feel with natural hickory wood and willow dining chairs. The fully equipped kitchen has the original wood cook stove, but there is a modern range/oven with dishwasher and sm fridge. A larger refrigerator is toward the back of cabin. The second bdrm is a pass-through room to gain entrance to the private mstr bdrm. The stone fireplace in the living room has a glass front wood stove insert to lull you to sleep on those chilly evenings. Another added benefit is the bathroom with jetted tub to relax sore muscles after a day of hiking. There is a large back deck with picnic table and gas grill that overlooks the creek which is 15' across in some places. It's great for drinking your morning coffee! You will hear the sound of chirping birds and the rushing stream throughout your stay. And if that's not enough the trail head to the Mt. Evans Wilderness is only a mile away (Tanglewood and Rosalie trails). Trail head can be reached either by walking the mile from the cabin or by driving to the trail head. Once there miles and miles of hiking await you! Keep in mind that the road to trail head about a half mile in gets a bit rough as county maintenance stops there. There is plenty of (EMAIL HIDDEN)e and experience PineWater Cabin and you may just not want to leave! Guest AccessWhole house access. Interaction with GuestsYou can call, text, or email during your stay. The NeighborhoodMy cabin is in an enclave of either weekend cabins or full-time cabins. It is accessed from the one lane dirt main road (Cty Rd 43) and is on it's own private lane that is accessed by crossing the bridge over creek, so it is semi-private. Plenty of restaurants to visit approx. 15-20 min. away. Other Things to NoteLocal taxes will be an addt'l charge at 3.5%. Firewood may be provided for inside burning only. If you want to burn outside you will need to bring your own firewood. Please ask owner in advance if firewood is available for inside. Outside burning bans apply. Please check with this site to find current information on fire bans in Park County. (URL HIDDEN) 2nd bdrm is a pass-thru room to the private mstr bdrm. Elevation is 9,200. ***Cell phone coverage is good at cabin thanks to a new cell tower that was recently installed. The Neighborhood1920's resort community with a rich history. Dozens of summer cabins were built here starting in 1922. Most still remain. All roads that are dirt are private property. Please be careful while driving and respect Property owners. Our Neighborhood is under the watchful eye of many Owners some of which like calling the Jefferson County Sheriffs Office. Hiking and Exploring is Ok, Messing with the cabins isn't a good idea. Even though some look like they are abandoned, they are still owned by someone. Getting AroundWe are located 2.3 miles South of US Hwy 285 near Pine Junction Co. The road is usually snow packed from Oct - May. AWD or 4x4 highly recommended, last part of road is a single lane up hill. Please go very slow coming up. We are located 30 minutes SW of the Denver Metro, 1 hr from Denver International Airport, 1 hr from Breckenridge and 1 hour from Colorado Springs. Conifer is located about 12 miles away and offers Grocery Stores and shopping, numerous restaurants. Other Things to NoteWater is very limited at 8,360 ft of Elevation. Please be as conservative as possible. Water is usually off unless guests are on site but may be shut off during your stay at some point. Just holler and I will turn on the pump. Thank you for being water conscious. Also We have several projects going on at the house at any given time to make your future stay even better. Our rates are way cheap right now, Thank you !

Other Things to Note* As with many small mountain towns you will likely not have the best cellular service. You may have limited service depending on your carrier however. * Being off the grid, the toilet is an electric incenolet toilet that incinerates "everything" with a push of a button. Otherwise, there's also an outhouse very close by. (not a big deal, just giving full disclosure). * Our mountain location definitely does not have top of the line Internet. It's not lightning fast but gets the job done and we usually have no problems with it. * We are off the grid as far as water goes. Our water is trucked in and operates off of an electric water pump but you shouldn't notice a difference from any other house.

The SpaceFollow on Instagram and tag your stay @hyggechalet_CO The Hygge Chalet was also just featured by AirBnb! @airbnb Unique, cozy, private and inviting 1970s A-Frame, inspired by my love for Scandinavia and the time I've spent there. Modern and clean, but with a rustic cottage feel. This place has been fully remodeled over the last year with passion and patience and I'm excited to finally share it with the world! You will feel the love and dedication when you enter. There is even an amazing street-art inspired mural out back! Everything is brand new: metal roof, bamboo floors, windows, full kitchen with granite countertops, bathroom, HVAC, wiring and even the staircase. The cabin has a loft with a queen-sized bed and 1 bedroom downstairs with a twin that pulls out into a king. 1 bathroom with a tiled shower (no tub). Both beds are insanely comfortable memory foam. The kitchen is ready for cooking and includes cookware and dining essentials. The fridge is not full-size, but very spacious. The dining table pulls out to fit 4 comfortably and the bar seats 3. Enjoy a wifi-free retreat! (Although most cell service providers work up here, including LTE Verizon service). If you're too hooked on TV and technology to take a break for a few days, this may not be the place for you. Lastly, please note that I keep the base price low because I want this place to be accessible to as many people as possible. This very reasonable base price is based on 2 guests. All towels, bedding, etc. provided are based on the number of people in the booking. Please indicate the exact number of guests who will stay (including children), as this will be verified. Guest AccessFull use of home and 3.5 acres of land. Collection of games (mostly fun adult card games and geeky board games) and my personal collection of books (which consists mostly of spirituality, philosophy, science, history and world affairs). This is great space for readers and gamers, so don't forget to bring your own. :) If you desire movie time, I also recommend bringing a tablet or laptop with a few movies since this is purposefully a wifi/TV free home. Interaction with GuestsAvailable to help with ideas for things to do. Always available by phone, but 1.5 hours away for any in-person needs. The NeighborhoodBetween Bailey, CO and Guanella Pass (closed in winter). Great hiking, fishing, cultural/historical actives, snowshoeing, leaf peeping and all around relaxation. There are many great day trips in the area, as well that include history, hot springs, gold mines, ghost towns, beautiful mountain drives, etc. Lots of cute cafes nearby where you can experience true mountain friendliness. The closest cafe is the Shaggy Sheep. And don't forget to stop in the Sasquatch Museum in Bailey. If you're looking for a brewery, check out Mad Jack's Mountain Brewery. Getting AroundSKI RESORTS: The cabin is close enough for a decent day trip to any of these resorts: Breckenridge (1 hour) Copper Mountain (1.5 hours) Keystone (1.5 hours) Loveland (1.5 hours) Arapahoe Basin (1.5 hours) Vail (2 hours) For those looking to ski/snowboard for the duration of their trip, this probably isn't the place for you. This is for people looking for a cozy retreat off the beaten track. There are plenty of mountain activities to fill your days with. Other Things to NoteELEVATION: Local spring water is provided. Please stay well hydrated. Some people from locations outside of CO can experience symptoms due to the altitude. If you are coming from a lower elevation, giving yourself a day to acclimate in Denver/Boulder is recommended. Staying hydrated and avoiding alcohol will also prevent these symptoms. BREAKFAST: I provide a full fair trade and organic coffee and hot drink bar, some breakfast items (organic eggs, oatmeal, etc.) and a few cold drinks. DEPOSIT: There is a $500 deposit. This is NOT charged to you upon booking. It is only a reserve I am able to claim for damage or theft. RESPECT: I spend a great deal of time preparing for your visit so that your experience is as perfect as possible. Please respect my home and the serenity that this place evokes. Please keep the house as clean as possible. Be aware that the floors, while bamboo, do scratch easily. Please do not wear shoes inside or drag furniture, suitcases, etc. No parties. No smoking inside. Just be generally respectful. So far, my guests have been WONDERFUL. :) CONSERVATION: Please conserve water and electricity. Resources are scarce and mountain homes are not so easy on the environment. Staying here means you commit to water and energy conservation (with all showering, cooking, cleaning, etc.). There is no dishwasher, so please be mindful while washing dishes (don't leave water running) and reuse cups when possible. RECYCLE all recyclables. Separate bins are provided. SEPTIC is sensitive. Absolutely nothing flushed, except TP. WINTER DISCLAIMER: In winter, 4X4 or AWD with clearance is required. The cabin is right off highway 285, which is well maintained all year long. There is about an eighth of a mile of driveway that is pretty steep and often not plowed. If making a winter reservation, please confirm you understand that you will go at your own risk. If a reservation is made for 5 days or more, I will have the road plowed if needed. For major winter storms, full refunds will be available up to 1 day prior to the reservation, when requested, so do keep an eye on the weather.
