The SpaceBreakfast is help yourself. The kitchen is always stocked full of a variety of pastries, English muffins and bagels for toasting (toaster in cabinet to left of stove), fresh fruit, yogurt, juice and fresh, hot espresso (grounds in the freezer). We love smoothies, so there are usually frozen fruit in the freezer (blender with toaster). Other meals available on request! Guest AccessYou'll have access to the living room, dining room, kitchen, and playroom (soon to be a library) in the main house. Laundry is available in the first floor half bath. Upstairs, we ask that you respect the privacy of others and only access your assigned room and the shared bathroom (knock first). Interaction with GuestsAmanda, Alex & their children live on site, so there is always someone around to answer questions, help unclog a toilet, or let you know the hot spots in town. In high season you'll share the home with the family and other guests and you'll be part of a happy, lively family-orientated household with distinctly relaxed vibe but pick a quiet night out of season and you may get a whole house to yourself! The NeighborhoodCentral Massachusetts is a hidden gem, full of art & culture, unique family fun, and gorgeous natural vistas. Here in the heart of Massachusetts, you can go to “sugar camp” at Old Sturbridge Village’s living history museum; explore everything from treetops to the solar system at the totally unique indoor-outdoor museum, the Ecotarium; and take on Wachusett Mountain on skis in the winter, and in hiking boots the rest of the year. While in Central Mass, don’t miss out on the burgeoning culinary scene, memorable art, or rockin’ live music venues of Worcester, New England’s third largest city. Getting AroundYou'll need your own transportation to get here. Boston is an hour by car (but more if traffic). There is a train station in Leominster (25 miles) and a limited bus service, so a car is essential. Other Things to NoteIf you require something specific for your stay please request it prior to your arrival and we will do our best to assure it is available to you once you arrive.
Riverview is run as a small 7 bedroom unique place to stay in a B&B style but it's much more than a B&B and a world away from a conventional hotel. Amanda and Alex bought the former sanitarium as a wreck in 2016 and remodeled from top to bottom - always with the single aim of providing a place for others to call home in the hope that visitors arrive as guests and leave as friends.
