The SpaceThere are several spaces - the entire house when i am away doing volunteer work acrossAsia- Pacific, the second bedroom and the workers quarters with its separate second kitchen. Light and views are maximised through the use of lots of glass. No neighbours close by so privacy maintained. Wood floors and artisanal level finishes with artefacts from my volunteer work crowding the walls. Guest AccessYou will have 200+ acres of rainforest, farmlands and river to roam and with National Park on two boundaries for the intrepid there is more. Happy to stay on marked tracks? - well the Wishing Pool circuit and the entire Eungella Range walk and its platypus and cascades and swimming spots are all a walk away. Of course the entire house and facilities are available...just remember there is no mobile phone coverage here in the rainforest. Interaction with GuestsAs one of Australia's leading natural resources scientists with a long history in sustainable agriculture and repairing not just the Great Barrier Reef but also many of Australia's estuaries and seascapes I am more than happy to share my experiences. Current gigs for me include Board Member of Greening Australia, adjunct to 2 universities, leader of shellfish reef repair and fostering profitability in the Vietnamese sugar industry and thinking through the evaluation of the EU Rivers directive...just to give you an idea of my passions... The NeighborhoodThe neighbourhood is quiet to the max. You can really hear yourself think...apart from the birds and biodiversity of course. Getting AroundAbsolutely zip public transport. You will need a car to get here. 1 hour from Mackay up the range to Eungella and then 20 minutes of dirt road and some tar from Eungella to the farm. Once you get here is easy - its the very last property on Lex Creek Road....just keep driving past the "Road Ends" signs. very sturdy set of byccle Other Things to NoteBest to arrive in daylight. There is no mobile phone coverage past Eungella and about 20 minutes of dirt roads still to negotiate. Best also to give me advanced notice of your likely arrival. If at home its email via satellite dih which is not on every day. If away i could be somewhere remote with flaky comms. If i am away Josh the share farmer for the garlic will show you around and set you up.
