The SpaceThe cottage is set in its own garden, surrounded on 2 sides by fields. You can pop over the fence in the morning to collect fresh eggs for your breakfast from our flock of hens, ducks, geese and turkeys. In the right season you can snack on raspberries, loganberries, white and red currants, gooseberries, apples and pears all of which grow at the edge of your garden. Or if you prefer you can relax with a book in the warmth of the comfortable sunroom and watch the beautiful sunsets and the mists rising over the fields. Indoors there are 2 bedrooms one has a double and a single bed, and the other has a king, there is also a spare mattress should you need it, we can also provide a cot and high chair. There is a bathroom equipped with shower, toilet, sink and a washing machine and tumble drier. The lounge has a cosy wood burning stove, (for which we will provide firewood in the winter) comfortable leather sofa and chairs and a small dining table and chairs. It also has a TV with free view. The kitchen is equipped with oven, hob, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge and dishwasher, there is a small chest freezer in the utility room. The sunroom has a table and chairs and sofa and arm chairs and looks out onto the garden. A small utility room houses the oil fired boiler and freezer and has plenty of space for dirty walking boots/ bikes and hooks to dry out wet clothing. The garden is private and is a gorgeous sun trap, you can sit out, close your eyes and listen to the rustle of the poplar trees in the breeze and hear the odd quack of a duck or cluck of a hen and forget all about the hustle and bustle of life! It is a great space for BBQ's sunbathing or for children to play in. Despite its rural surroundings we are only 6 miles from Naas or Newbrige and 40 minutes from Dublin. Our closest town, Kilcullen is just 2 miles away. We are right in the heart of horse racing country, with punchestown and the curragh right beside us, and the National Stud in Kildare only 20 mins away. We also have stables which are available for use, should you wish to bring your horse (contact us for prices). We have rathsallagh beside us with its golf course and fine dining, and we are 30 mins from the k-club. For food the award winning Ballymore Inn and The Brown Bear are minutes away and there are plenty of places to choose from between Kilcullen, Naas and Newbridge. You will have access to the whole cottage and it's garden, if you would like a tour of the farm please ask us, we would be happy to show you around and let you know where you can walk, but for safety reasons please check with us first. We live in the main farmhouse next door to the cottage and so we are on hand should you need anything, from ideas on where to visit or eat out to supplying that jug of milk should you accidentally run out! We are in a lovely quiet, rural location, but still only 6 miles from 2 good sized towns, Naas and Newbridge, and only 2 miles from Kilcullen which has all your essential amenities. You will need a car to stay with us, there are good bus links from the airport to Naas, and from Dublin to Naas and Newbridge by bus or train. The SpaceThe Studio was a commercial recording studio in a previous life and played host to some big names during the 80s & 90s. These days it's a very comfortable 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment. The living/dining space is open plan. It is a light and airy room (6m x 6m) with beautiful views to the garden and countryside. There is a double sofa bed in the living area. The Studio has a full kitchen with everything needed to cook meals. Guest AccessWhilst our house is adjacent to the Studio, it is a private space with a secluded feeling. There is a seating area on the patio for fine days. The garden is shared. Guests are welcome to use the heated swimming pool when its open during the months of July and August. Interaction with GuestsWe are on hand to help and advise but only if asked! I will stock the Studio fridge for a complimentary breakfast; tea, coffee (cafetiere), orange juice, bread, butter, cereals and milk. Eggs from next doors organic, free range hens are a great way to start your day. If you are going to arrive late or if you need anything in particular just let me know and I can pick up whatever you need. The NeighborhoodThe Studio is tucked away down a country lane. While there is no road noise whatsoever, we are surrounded by farmland so sometimes you would hear the usual sounds of the country (mooing, baaing, cock a doodle do!) Getting AroundWe are a 12 minute drive from the town of Blessington so a car is essential. There is a bus (no.65) for trips to Dublin city from Blessington. Plenty of parking at the property. Other Things to NoteWe have 1 child (2010), 2 small friendly dogs, 1 cat (lives outside) and 3 horses. If you would like to bring a small, well behaved dog, please contact me to discuss.
