Directions from Bangkok:
-By mini van (RECOMMEND); Take the BTS (skytrain) to Mochit staion exit 3 or MRT (subway) to Chatuchak station, take the bus to Mochit bus terminal - go all the way - and buy ticket at mini van's Platform (platform no. 6 : Bangkok-Ayutthaya) You can ask at ticket booths. It cost 60 Baht/person , take 2 hours for the 80km journey depending traffic. But there is only some space for luggage. If you have a big one, you will need to buy an extra seat for it. The mini van departs every 30 minutes or when it full. It will drop you off at Ayutthaya's city center (Chao Phrom market). And getting TUK-TUK to my home.

Second class to Ayutthaya is only 27 Baht and rapid train is 65 Baht. The second class carriage is very old and not pretty to look at but it is quite fun to see the characters on board and you get there just the same!
