The neighborhood offers a large network of off-road ATV trails to hike, snowshoe, cross country etc. There are lots of amenities in town including 24hr Grocery, Restaurants, LCBO & Beer Store. The waterfront is on the property, but the walkway down is rustic. If you have physical limitations lets discuss. Interaction with GuestsThe max. ideal number of guests in the cabin is 7 due to the cabin not being a massive estate home. If you have a party of 7 or more, lets discuss, maybe some guests are interested in tenting at a discount rate. The NeighborhoodJeffrey Lake is a beautiful clear lake with a limestone base and stunning turquoise waters. Jeffrey Lake is spring fed, deep, and offers great fishing. The lake is about 104 acres in size with a maximum depth of 39 meters. Fish species include Lake Trout and Bass. The neighborhood offers a large network of off-road ATV trails to hike, snowshoe, cross country etc. There are lots of amenities in town including 24hr Grocery, Restaurants, LCBO & Beer Store. Getting AroundThere's lots of parking in the driveway. The Canoe is good for getting to know the area. Other Things to Note**Winter season conditions: Parking is limited in winter months.. The private road in is not cleared of snow.. We park and treck the 10min winter walk to the cabin from the main road. Q+A: Q - Wifi.? A - Nope.. Go outside. Q - Animals outside.? A - Yup.. Welcome outside.. no-ones been harassed by more then a chipmunk or a family of rabbits. Q - Is there heating.? A - Yup.. it's a wood stove.. Knowing how to use one will be key to a successful visit in the chilly months. Q - Should I bring towels or linens.? A - Nope.. We've enough to sail a ship. Q - Is there a cork screw? A - Yup Q - Utensils and plates.? A - Yup.. Plenty. Q - Spices and condiments.? A - Yup.. There's a healthy rotation of all the basics. Q - Life jackets.? A - Yup.. There are 4 PFDs on site. Q - Fishing rods.? A - Nope.. they wear out fast around these parts. Q - A BBQ.? A - Yup.. It's charcoal.. Gas BBQs wear out fast around these parts.

The SpaceThis is an attached but private fully furnished 2 bedroom apartment with living room, fully equipped kitchen, and 3 piece bathroom. All linens are supplied and included in the price. One bedroom has a queen bed, the other a double bed, and the living room couch pulls out into a double bed. There is also a fold-up cot for use. We are 5 km from the town of Bancroft, Ontario on a main highway, Hwy 28S. Bancroft is one hour south of Algonquin Park and 20 minutes north of Silent Lake Provincial Park. A BBQ, fire-pit, and hot-tub are also available for use. Wireless internet is available for use. Pricing is per double occupancy per night. Ask about bringing pets. Guest AccessGuests have access to the hot-tub, fire-pit and patio with patio furniture. Interaction with GuestsWe are on premise if there are problems, otherwise we offer privacy. The NeighborhoodWe have easy access to town, are within one hour of Algonquin Provincial Park, and 20 minutes of Silent Lake Provincial Park. This cottage has hydro and running water, 3 piece bath (with shower), and a fully equipped kitchen that overlooks the water and rapids. A large yard with fire pit and horse shoe pitch are great for outdoor games. The natural swimming area, with sand bottom and gentle current, is ideally suited for young and old. A network of self-guided hiking trails wind their way along the river and through various forest types. This is a great place for the outdoor adventurer and nature enthusiast. Please Note: (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps has incorrectly shown the York River as the Madawaska River. Guest AccessCanoes are available for exploration of the York River and Conroys Marsh wetlands--a 2400 hectare paradise, nestled into the mountainous terrain of the surrounding pre-cambrian shield. Guided paddle excursions are also available to this provincially significant class one wetlands protected under the Ontario's Living Legacy initiative. The Forest also offers more than 5 km of hiking trails through various habitats. Interaction with GuestsAlthough there may be other guests visiting the forest and enjoying the hiking trails, the cottage is set apart in its own location with a dedicated driveway guaranteeing your privacy. As your host, I am always available at the office about 1 km away in case of an emergency or for assistance. The NeighborhoodThis area was first settled in the 1840s, but has remained a quiet rural community with vast expanses of wilderness to explore. Algonquin Provincial Park makes a great day trip from Whitepine Cottage. Getting AroundBeing a rural community, guests will need to provide their own transportation. The nearest full-service communities are Bancroft and Barrys Bay, both about 43 km away. For short stays, it is best to bring all your provisions in with you on arrival so that you do not waste valuable vacation time driving to stores. Other Things to NoteWhitepine Cottage is only available from May through to mid October. Bed linens, towels, toilet paper, paper towels, dish washing detergent, garbage bags, firewood and drinking water are supplied. Please bring your own toiletries.

Canoe, row boat, and single person kayak included. - We trust you will be very safety cautious so use at your own risk. Life jackets are mandatory. Cellphone: Cellphone service signal tends to be weak, Telus and Bell patrons get great coverage, Fido and Roger or others get signal but sometimes drops. The best reception is by the lake. Landline: Landline for local calls only. Buy a cheap calling card if you plan on being on the phone a lot. Potable well water. Bring your bedding (pillow cases, sheets) and towels. No bedding whatsoever will be provided. We do not provide firewood but you can get in town very cheap. No smoking indoors: Violation will results in a $350 cleaning fee to remove the indoor smoke smell. Please Note: For those less familiar with cottages rental: Cottages are NOT hotels, you need to be very self-sufficient and considerate, leave the place and all appliances clean and tidy just as you found it. The cleaner will come to check the cottage, take inventory and do a once-over. If the place needs deep cleaning you will be charged a 90$ hr rate.

The quirky little town of Maynooth offers a smorgasbord of art and antique shops. Come once, you'll fall in love! Getting AroundWhile the Greyhound bus runs every Friday and Sunday from both Ottawa and Toronto, I'd recommend renting a car if you can. But don't worry, if you come by bus, there's lots to do around the hostel. There are trails to walk to from the hostel and lakes to swim in are a short bike ride away. Other Things to NoteLong weekends tend to book up months in advance. August and September are my busiest months.

The SpacePerfect place to create your summer cottage memories. 3-bedroom southwest facing cottage on Elephant Lake. Part of a three lake chain incl. Baptiste and Benoir lakes. Shallow sandy, shoreline. Jumping Rock a short boat ride away. Very child friendly. Perfect place to create your summer cottage memories. 3-bedroom southwest facing cottage on Elephant Lake. The Cottage was built in the 1940 and was used as a fishing retreat for a wealthy American Doctor. It has been spruced up with white washed bedrooms and an updated bathroom. There is a quaint loft in the main room where kids love to play and sleep. There is a paddleboat and canoe available for guest use. If you plan to use the boats, you MUST bring your own life jackets as they need to be specifically fitted to each individual adult, child, infant, and pet wearing them. The cottage road is about 5km long with a few steep spots but is very well maintained by the cottage association and travelled daily by all types vehicles. We frequent it with a Honda Civic. Since the cottage is so amazingly close to the lake, the driveway down to the cottage is fairly steep. We have provided a parking spot at the top of the driveway, which is about 100 feet from the cottage, for any guests with 2 wheel drive vehicles. AWD and 4WD vehicles will have no problem getting up and down the driveway. The nearest town, Bancroft, is about a 20 minute drive from the cottage. Bancroft has the following stores and shops: Canadian Tire, Foodland, Home Hardware, Shoppers Drug Mart, Liquor Store (LCBO), The Beer Store, Tim Horton's, McDonalds, TD Bank, and Subway. It's a 3-hour drive from Toronto Pearson Airport. The cottage is on lake water so you MUST bring clean drinking water. Cellular reception is good for Telus and Bell but Rogers not so much. If you don't have Bell or Telus, be prepared to be off the cellular grid while you're there. You must bring your own bed linens (i.e. sheets and pillow cases), towels, dish cloths, toilet paper, and paper towels. There is a fire pit and you must provide your own wood. Although the cottage is very private from the road, the surrounding cottage neighbours are very friendly and helpful. A common gesture of friendship (email hidden). Comments from guests, "Wow this is truly a Million Dollar View!! " This property is available for rentals Summer only. June 1- Aug 31 only. NO PETS/NO SMOKING Property. Cottage sleeps 8 in 3 comfortable bedrooms (new blinds through out). There is large family room area, open to dining area, with TV ,VCR, and DVD. Also a sun room/additional family room, with 2nd TV ,VCR and DVD. Perfect option when the kids and adults want their separate spaces to watch movies, or play board games. Large selection of family friendly DVD,and VHS movies,and board games. There are two bathrooms, one 3 piece and one 2 piece fully functioning outdoor bathroom,attached to side of cottage, convenient for when you and the family are enjoying the great outdoors . The cottage has a warm and relaxing feeling with extensive use of pine throughout. With soft white and pine bedrooms to give that light airy feel. Cottage comes complete with a fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker,blender. As you can see from the photos, this is a very nice, comfortable cottage and the outside is sure to please as well. As you exit the cottage, there is a large glass front wrap around deck with a large picnic table, Dream Chair and 2 rocking Muskoka chairs and a great view of Farquhar Lake. The propane barbeque is under cover in a small addition to to the deck area which ensures that you will barbeque in comfort regardless of the weather situation. Down a few stairs you are well on your way to one of the nicer shorelines in our system. You will love this area of the property because it has a large shore deck with lots of chairs for lounging,and picnic table and there is a dock off the shore deck. In addition there is a beautiful fire pit area for those popular evening marshmallow roasts. When the spirit moves you there is a Canoe, stand up paddle board, 2 kayaks, paddle boat and row boat for your on water pleasure. Waterfront Description & Nearby Activities Beautiful clean, crystal clear lake perfect for swimming, canoeing, fishing or boating. The shoreline is a gradual sand bottom, with some rocks on edge of the shoreline. There is also steps coming off the deck into the gradual sandy bottom. Farquhar lake is excellent for fishing. The sparkling clean, medium sized lake boasts excellent lake trout fishing as well as large and smallmouth bass. Great catches of 2-3 lb smallmouth bass caught right off the dock have been had. Many of our guests have explored the Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve where they have visited the Wolf Centre or taken a Walk in the Clouds. For the sports enthusiast there are waterski and wakeboard programs available in Haliburton and mountain biking down Sir Sam's ski hills is not to be missed! Family rafting on the Madawaska river and white water canoe and kayak courses are also available. The cottage is conveniently located between the communities of Haliburton and Bancroft. Both have active tourism programs that run summer long. Live theatre programs, arts and craft shows, galleries and tours are extremely popular. Bancroft boasts Canada's largest annual gem and mineral show and Haliburton Highland Games are also a favorite yearly spectacle. If you are in need of supplies, the nearest village is Wilberforce (5 min drive) where there is a large food store, LCBO, beer store, restaurant, banking, gas station and other shops. The SpaceThe constant white noise of the waterfall beside the house is very relaxing. Morning sunrises are breath taking as water mist in the morning air follows the 28 degree creek as it goes off into the distance. Original large plank floors make the house come to life . . . they are not quiet! Solitary morning swimming across the road!     The SpaceCozy log cabin set on a lovely open, grassy lot on Cardiff Lake. The cottage has three bedrooms and one bathroom. An open living/dining/kitchen area and a large walk out deck on the main level as well as lower level additional living space. The kitchen is well equipped, including fridge, stove and microwave. Cardiff Lake is a small land locked lake - large motor boats not recommended. The cottage is across the lake from the highway - some audible road noise. Short five minute drive to Wilberforce for groceries or LCBO, or approx 20 minute drive to Bancroft. Guest AccessCanoe (some life jackets available however appropriate life jackets for sizes of guests should be brought as needed), BBQ with propane, fire pit, Water Toys, Satellite TV Hot tub - set at 85F, in winter months increase temp to 100+ prior to use, return to 85 when not in use. Press "1" to turn on, "2" for high jets, "3" to turn off. Request guests using hot tub to ensure it is turned off and covered at departure. Things to note: There is a filtration cycle that will run daily on its own, every 4 hours.
