Ballyholme Bay is a lovely place to spend a day or 2 with easy access to Belfast but with the coast & countryside on your doorstep here. Getting AroundWe are 20 minutes drive/ taxi from Belfast City Airport. There is a train station in Bangor, 10 minutes walk from our house. From here trains run directly into Belfast City centre in 30 minutes.

We offer 10 well appointed rooms with magnificent views of the harbour and its surroundings. Located within walking distance of the bus and train stations, town centre, and marina, Ennislare House has private parking and is an approved Northern Ireland Tourist Board member. Our rooms are traditionally furnished, with lovely bedding and good facilities. The guest house also has a high speed internet connection. Guests are assured of a warm Irish welcome when they come to Ennislare House bed and breakfast. Hearty breakfasts are happily provided in the mornings to set you up for a full day in Bangor and the surrounding areas. We are just minutes walk from Bangor city centre and only 20 minutes from some of Belfast’s most exciting offerings such as the magnificent Waterfront Hall, the Odyssey Arena and the new Titanic Quarter. The lunar landscape of the Giant's Causeway, lurking below the gaunt sea wall where the land ends, must have struck wonder into the hearts of the ancient Irish. There are many lovely walking trails as well as riding paths. Dundrum Castle is a fine example of castles built by the Normans. It was constructed by John de Courcy, the Norman conqueror of north east Ireland. It was built around the same time as Carrickfergus Castle (1180) and provides breathtaking views of the Mourne Mountains. Ulster Folk and Transport Museum contains cottages, farmhouses, churches, mills and other buildings providing an insight into life in Ulster from the last century. The museum of transport contains collections depicting the history of Irish railway and also an exhibition on the famous liner, the 'Titanic', built in Belfast at the Harland and Wolff shipyard. There is much to see and to explore in this part of the world, and Ennislare House is a great place from which to base yourself to enjoy the sites.

    This self catering holiday accommodation is based in the unique and beautiful Splash Cottage by the waters edge where the Belfast Lough meets the Irish Sea, views from the rear of the property are magnificent and the cottage is also privileged to have wonderful Guillemots nesting right outside the property. The well appointed and recently renovated holiday rental property has three bedrooms sleeping up to a maximum of six people. There is convenient car parking outside the property and we are within walking distance of Bangor Town Centre, Bangor Marina and Ballyholme Yacht Club. This is Bangor's Sea Front area beside Ballyholme Yacht Club and just 500m from the Harbour Marina Complex. Splash Cottage is located right on the sea, with the waves lapping the back wall. The Famous Jamaica Inn is 200 m away in one direction while The Salty Dog Hotel is 400 m in the other direction. The prestigious Royal Ulster Yacht is 150 m behind Splash Cottage. The property from its elevated position offers stunning views over Ballyholme Bay, close to the centre of Bangor. This period property was totally refurbished in 2015 and provides spacious ground floor accommodation with its own private garden and parking for 2 cars at the door. There is direct access via patio doors from the open plan living dining and kitchen area to the garden overlooking the sea. The master bedroom also has french doors with stunning sea views, leading into the garden. From an elevated position, guests can enjoy a panoramic view across the bay towards the Irish Sea, Scotland on a clear day and the countryside at Ballymacormick Point. Guests can also watch sailing from Ballyhome Yacht Club below, the enthusiastic on the public tennis courts and even the budding golfers on the pitch and putt course at the end of the garden! Sailors are ideally located as Royal Ulster Yacht Club is directly opposite our driveway. Bangor town centre, a 10 minute walk away, has plenty of restaurants, pubs and coffee shops as well as a busy shopping centre. Bangor Castle has beautiful grounds and a fabulous walled garden, beside which is Bangors brand new sports complex, The Aurora, with a wide choice of facilities for adults and children.                 The SpaceMy home is a 2 storey end of terrace house, built in the 1920s and it still retains many of its original features. The double bedroom, although compact, is clean, bright and comfortable, with a new double bed (memory foam mattress), wall mounted flat screen TV, selection of books and hospitality corner. The shared bathroom is next door. The double bedroom is a relaxed setting in my comfortable family home. Guest AccessThere is unlimited free wifi and you are welcome to use my printer if you need to print out your boarding pass. You are also welcome to use the washing machine, dryer, iron, ironing board and hair dryer if you need to. You are welcome to use the kitchen for simple food preparation. Interaction with GuestsI will be there to welcome you personally on arrival and help you settle in. To be sure that you have a wonderful time, I am happy to advise you on places to see, special events, and places to eat. I have a very friendly dog who, although he will welcome you noisily, he does not have the run of the house so he won't bother you. He is very friendly. The NeighborhoodBangor is a beautiful seaside town with many lovely walks and cycle paths in the vicinity. There is a new theatre at SERC which is just a 5 minute walk away through the park. Things to see and do in Bangor include: Walled Garden, Ballyholme Yacht Club, Royal Ulster Yacht Club, Golf Club, Parks, Cinema, several pubs with live music, cafes and restaurants. These are all less than 5 minutes walk away from my house....literally just around the corner! In spite of the proximity to town, my street is very quiet. The house is also within easy walking distance of churches, schools and the local college. Getting AroundWalking is the best way to reach all of the amenities of Bangor. The bus and train station is approximately a 5 minute walk away. The trains to Belfast run regularly and the journey takes around 25 minutes. In Belfast, there are connections to the rest of Northern Ireland and to Dublin as well. Other Things to NoteThere is safe and secure bicycle storage available. There is also secure off-street parking. Towels and toiletries are provided. Breakfast is also provided. Evening meals, packed lunches and picnics can all be provided at a nominal charge.

If you are interested in the Belfast Christmas market or to do some Christmas shopping it's only 20mins on the train. Beautiful winter walks only 10mins drive away. Two showers (one is en suite), one bathroom, large kitchen/diner and large lounge/dining room. There is no garden to the rear of the property, but a small garden to the front which overlooks the sea. On street car parking is available at the front free of charge. Restaurants, bars and shops are all within walking distance, with good rail/bus links very close by. Oscar's is a truly comfortable residence and we look forward to welcoming you. Beautiful scenic drives along the Ards Peninsula, collect some fresh fish from Portavogie or Ardglass. ASDA, Boots, banks, building societies, local market on Wednesday morning, etc all within 5 minutes walk. Restaurants & bars of every type, high end & casual, again all within 5 mins walk.
