There really is something for everyone and you will want to come back, time and time again! Guest AccessGuests will have access to the entire house and generous outside entertaining area. Interaction with GuestsJerakala B&B is situated on the next property to our homestead. Guests have the house to themselves with the option of visiting the farm and farm animals depending on the availability of the hosts. We are generally around to say hello and provide anything you need but pretty much stay out of your way so that you can enjoy the peace and tranquility our place offers.
Jerakala is a fully functioning 30,000-acre beef cattle operation, from breeding and growing beef cattle to processing, value adding and selling our own beef products. We are a very busy, growing, family enterprise and we love that you are helping to be a part of the foundation we are building for our future generation. That being said, we may not always be around to greet you on arrival, or have a great deal of time to spend with you, but we will always make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. The NeighborhoodWhat neighbourhood? No neighbours out here, only the cows, the birds and the rolling hills. Mundubbera is only 4km away, and you have access to all of the services and facilities that this little town has to offer. Getting AroundMundubbera does not offer public transport. You are going to need your own vehicle out here so that you are free to explore the region at your own pace. Other Things to NoteThere is no town water at Jerakala B&B so we do ask you to preserve as much water as possible. i.e. turn the taps off while brushing your teeth and don't take too long in the shower. The good news is that the water is natural rain water, and therefore beautifully refreshing to drink.
For a perfect start to the day a farm fresh bacon and eggs breakfast pack will be in the refrigerator waiting for you to cook.
You are welcome to bring your own food and utilise the facilities to prepare your own meals or alternatively we can talk to you about our farm fresh produce supplied from our own butchery and retail shop for other meal options.
Please tidy the kitchen and wash the dishes and leave them to drain prior to departure. If excessive house cleaning is required, additional fees will be charged.
There are no telephones so your own mobile phone is a good resource to have with you. The location enjoys great mobile coverage so access to data is also possible with your mobile phone.
Please also note that this is a farmhouse. We do our best to keep the wildlife at bay, but you may encounter the odd daddy long legs, a cheeky mouse or naughty frog from time to time. We apologise in advance if this is the case, but these critters seem to have a mind of their own and please know that we do what we can to keep them out of the house.
There is also livestock roaming the paddocks, cows and horses mostly, and they do tend to leave their business around the place. The house yard is completely fenced to keep them (and their business) out, so please keep the house yard gates shut. Our livestock don't care much about our little b&b and tend to make a bit of a mess if they are allowed in.
Most of all......relax and enjoy your stay in the country!
