The SpaceCompletely new renovation of an older home, we have put a lot of thought in to making this a great vacation space for families or large groups! The floor plan is very open, with a big kitchen and dining area, and two master suites with vaulted ceilings. There is a new deck with great views of the lake and outdoor entry with room to store skis/snowboards, snowmobile gear, beach chairs, you name it! There's also an out building big enough for bikes, kayaks, snowmobiles, and any other items you don't want to have to haul around during you stay. Guest AccessYou have acces to the entire property (5+ acres), tennis court, and easy access to the lake and general store right across the street. There is also VAST trail access so you can leave your trailers on the property and get right to the snowmobile adventures! There is another rental on the property, in the brown barn by the tennis court, so be mindful that they also have shared access to the area. We also own land up the North Rd past the State Park and are happy to have guests come up and snowshoe, cross country ski, or just explore the woods. Interaction with GuestsWe are a family business, all living in Barnard within 1 mile of the property. In addition to access to the owners, we also have a Property Manager who will be available to help you with anything you need. We can always be reached by phone, email, or text. The NeighborhoodBarnard is a fantastic little Vermont town. It's 15 minutes north of Woodstock (The Woodstock Inn, Rockefeller Estate, Billings Farm, Suicide Six Ski area, Worthy Kitchen) and about 45-60 minutes to areas like Killington, Stowe, and Okemo. The VAST trail (Vermont Association of Snow Travelers) passes right through Barnard, with multiple routes branching off, and the Barnard General Store has one of the areas only non-ethanol pumps. Silver Lake State Park has been voted the best Vermont State Park years in a row. Silver Lake itself is a wonderful lake, with absolutely no motors allowed, and great wildlife watching, kayaking, SUP, fishing (and ice fishing). The Barnard Inn and Tavern is less than a mile away, and was voted the best restaurant in Vermont by (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) food is completely local, and they have a huge selection of vermont made spirits and beers! Barnard is quiet and relaxing, but has easy access to most of central Vermont. We're less than 30 minutes from both Long Trail Brewery and Harpoon Brewery/SILO Distillery, and only 20 minutes from Upper Pass Brewery and Worthy Burger (South Royalton). You won't run out of things to do, and at the same time, you'll still have the peace and quiet of Vermont that you're looking for. Getting AroundBarnard is located on Rt 12, which runs from Woodstock to Bethel. It is less than 10 minutes from I-89 on paved roads. It's also only 30-40 minutes to Killington and Rt 4 (towards Rutland, VT) where you can find Amtrak and Greyhound lines. It's 1 hour from Burlington Airport and 1.5 hours from Manchester Regional Airport. It's 40 minutes from Hanover, NH (Dartmouth College) and the Dartmouth Coach busline, and 30 minutes from White Rover Junction and the Amtrak line there.
