The NeighborhoodWe're a short bike-ride to the public beach at Harvey's Lake (great swimming, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding). There are many road and cross-bike adventures in the surrounding hills, and Kingdom Trails with its mountain biking tracks is a short drive. Peacham is rich in history, scenic views, and a terrific cafe in the center of town. Annual events include the Peacham Acoustic Music Festival, Fall Foliage Festival, and 4th of July Tractor Parade. Getting AroundUnfortunately, there is no public transportation to Peacham. Once you are here, you can walk, run or bike to many places -- I find the journey can be as enjoyable as the destination when I leave my car and walk through Peacham. You'll need access to a car to pick up basic groceries, and you'll find a selection of farm stands and a weekly farmer's market to enjoy the freshest local produce.

The SpaceDesigned by Matt and I, the apt. is elegant, comfortable, cozy and functional. Be prepared to never want to leave, it's that sweet up on our hill. And did I mention that my husband Matthew has spent his life as a designer of fine furniture & architecture, so the attention to detail reveals itself around every corner. Guest AccessAccess the loft through our indoor/outdoor room which is a wonderful place to be in the rain or the heat, (for our wedding we used it for a band and dancing)! It has chairs and a table. There is also an outdoor grill and campfire area. You have full access to our 23+ acres of land, with lots of walking or mtn. biking trails (if you're feeling adventurous). Head out onto our country dirt roads. Watch the sunset, listen to the peepers or bliss out in the moonlight on a cold winter's night. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing right out the door. Interaction with GuestsBeing adventure seekers, Matt and I love to travel and enjoy staying active. When we are away, my sister Paula will be able to answer any of your questions and point you in the right direction. We will interact as much or as little as you like. We are happy to offer suggestions of the many things to do and places to explore both right here or within a short drive. The NeighborhoodBreathe the fresh air in our neighborhood of fields, forests, and farms. Wildlife right out the door: deer, wild turkeys, fox and birds galore. Head out and hike in the Green Mountains or the White Mountains. Swim in our local watering hole or at beautiful nearby Harvey's Lake. Bring your canoe or kayak and paddle The Passumpsic River which flows into the Connecticut River right in the valley. Drive to Willoughby, Crystal, or Caspian Lakes. Bike our local LVRT rail trail, or Kingdom Trails (25-minute drive to E. Burke) or head (only one hour) north to Newport, Vt. and bike on the biking trail into Canada. Bring your passport, you are that close! Matt and I enjoy cooking and growing our own food. There is a bounty of locally grown food available at the farmer's markets and nearby Joe's Brook Farm stand. Just over the hill is Karme-Choling Buddist Meditation Center. Only seven miles to St. Johnsbury, home of Fairbanks Museum & Planetarium, The Athenaeum, Catamount Arts Center and St. Johnsbury Academy. Share a bite at local restaurants in St. Johnsbury and Danville. Easy driving distance to Burke Mt. Ski Resort, or the Town of Greensboro, home to Jasper Hill Cheese, Barr Hill Distillery, and Hill Farmstead Brewery. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation in our area. Janet is "scentsitive". You can determine how much you interact with us. We can make coffee and tea for you in the morning. Or lend you wine glasses for the evening. We also offer music recording services via John and healing services via Janet. The NeighborhoodOur small town is welcoming and beautiful too. We can share some roads to take that offer spectacular views. The store has lots of goodies including breakfast sandwiches, coffee, beer, wine, sunscreen, milk etc. Our local church is welcoming and full of humor. The Church Store is handy with lots of 2nd hand goodies. The local farm stands are absolutely wonderful!!! Because of the cool nights, there is nothing sweeter than Vermont corn. Getting AroundYou will need a car, there is no public transportation. St. Johnsbury is 15 minutes away. Littleton is 35 minutes. Burlington is 1hr 45 min. away. Other Things to NoteWe have an indoor cat, so please don't let her out even if she asks nicely. If you are allergic to cats, we have on hand a homeopathic remedy that has been surprisingly effective. Watch for dragon flies and an occasional duck or blue heron by our pond. Lately there were lightening bugs in the dark. The stars are amazing too if you live in a city, you will be amazed at how bright they are.
