The SpaceEfficiency style house with vintage charm located just across the river from Texas' oldest down town. House sits on 10 acres. Property includes a large riverside pavilion with a fire pit, bbq pit, & picnic tables as well as a boat ramp which guests have access to (Please note the pavilion boat ramp are shared with one of the neighbors). Sleeps up to 4 but more comfortable for just 2 or 3. Includes either a king size bed or 2 twins, small futon, and recliner. Towels and linens are provided. Stand up shower in bathroom. TV with VHS and DVD player. Impressive VHS collection. 2 person dining area. Full kitchen (microwave, oven, stove, toaster, coffee pot, blender, pots, pans, utensils, plates, glass wear, refrigerator). Front porch with seating. Pets allowed for $30 per pet non-refundable fee. Maximum of 2 pets. Guest AccessGuests have access to house, open field, pavilion, and boat ramp.
Do not cross fence lines to the north or south.
Guests DO NOT have access to the horse barn, the storage building behind the house, or the carport/barn/work space/storage bay adjacent to the house.
Please drive only on the road through the property. Interaction with GuestsThe host (Lee) and the property caretaker (Russell) visit the property regularly.
You may encounter them working on projects around the property or by the river. Say hello. We're friendly
The cows belong to the neighbor. He stops by at least once a day to check on them.

The Little House on the River is a couple 100 yards down a gravel drive way off of Perkins St. Getting AroundThere is an HEB 1/2 mile away, a Valero station around the corner, and a Sonic at the end of the block. Down town Bastrop is just a 10 min walk down Perkins St and across the Chestnut St bridge where you'll find restaurants, bars, shopping, live music , and a lot of charm. (do not attempt to walk across the Highway 71 bridge. Use the Chestnut St bridge at the north end of Perkins St.) Other Things to NoteOther patrons may pass through the property to access the river or the pavilion during your stay but will not enter the fence around the house. That is your space.
The pavilion may be rented for private parties. If this occurs during your stay please be respectful of their privacy unless they invite you to join If you would like to host a private party during your stay contact the host.
