The SpaceThere are three separate apartments on the farm. One has two bedrooms, en-suite bathroom with bath and shower and a fully equipped kitchen. The second apartment has 2 single beds - en suite bathroom and kitchen. The third has a double bedroom, en suite bathroom and kitchen. Breakfast is available upon request the day before. Guest AccessGuests have access to the extensive gardens and farm. You can be accompanied to meet the horses and to see the abundant birdlife in the dams. Interaction with GuestsMeals in the restaurant are served and prepared by the owners of the farm who are happy to describe the history of the farm and surrounding area.

    Self-Catering 2 bedroom cottage on a working Pineapple Farm close to Bathurst in the heart of the Eastern Cape. Convenient to travel to Grahamstown for National Arts Festival or a trip to the beach in Port Alfred. Our cottage is housed in the restored managers offices and has a red brick facade with a purple bougainvillea in front, and a view of the farmyard from the green stable door. It is quaint with a clever mix of rustic quarry tile floors and reed ceilings and excellent quality percale bedding and luxury fluffy white towels. We specialize in attention to detail to make our guests feel welcome and at home. All crockery and cutlery supplied, with a microwave, toaster, kettle, tea and coffee and homemade rusks. Full DSTV. Ceiling fans in bedrooms as well as wall heaters and electric blankets for the chilly winter nights in July. Guests can enjoy peaceful evenings sipping a glass of wine under starry skies. Early morning walks through pineapple plantations or in the bush veld. Bird lovers delight in the large trees in the yard with sightings of Green Pigeons and Knysna Loeries common. Close to Bathurst seeped in 1820 Settler history with the world famous Big Pineapple and the oldest registered pub in South Africa at The Pig 'n Whistle hotel once owned by our ancestors! Only 30km from Grahamstown known as "the Festival City" and "the City of Saints". Host city to the National Arts Festival in July each year. And famous for all its churches and the St Georges cathedral. Also home to Rhodes University and a number of private schools. And Port Alfred is only 28km away with its stunning beaches!

      Morley House is an 1820s settlers' cottage in the picturesque rural village of Bathurst in the Eastern Cape. We offer accommodation in the 3 bedroom self-catering cottage for families and groups of friends, or in our African style thatched ‘rondavel’ on a B & B basis. The cottage sleeps up to 6 adults while the rondavel sleeps 2. Morley House is child friendly. The accommodation is set in a large lush garden with a pool and plenty of areas to relax in peace. We also have a tea garden where you can enjoy a light lunch or an ‘English’ style afternoon tea, out on the deck in the summer or by the cosy log fire in winter. Bathurst is a great place to base yourself in the Eastern Cape. We are only two minutes’ walk from the centre of the village where there are craft shops, art galleries, restaurants, cafes and pubs, including South Africa’s oldest pub the Pig and Whistle. Bathurst is easily accessible via Port Alfred or Grahamstown and we are less than a two-hour drive from either Port Elizabeth or East London airports.

      The SpaceAmazing long view over into the bush on the farm, mornings and evenings often have the cattle come up quite close to the house along with the donkeys and horses popping over. Unfortunately, no wifi in the barn. ### NB: No pets are welcome as they cause a problem with the other animals on the farm ### Interaction with GuestsGuests are welcome to pop over for tea at any time, and we have a lovely grumble of pugs that provide great entertainment along with the cattle, donkeys and horses who love the odd carrot and conversation. Other Things to NoteGreat trail running and cycling potential. You welcome to take a drive down to the river, or take a jog along the farm roads.

      The SpaceOur historical cottage is a great place for you, your family and friends to spend a wonderful holiday. The cottage has 3 bedrooms, a cosy living room, a large fully-equipped kitchen and a private patio area with the all-important braai. On the ground floor there is a beautiful double bedroom with bay windows looking out onto the lush garden. Just off the room is a large dressing room with hot shower and toilet. Upstairs there is an open-plan bedroom with 2 single beds which is ideal for children. We can accommodate more children by adding a mattress to the room if required. Also upstairs is another double room with charming low ceilings which add to the 'olde world' feel to the cottage. There is another bathroom upstairs with a bathtub, hot water and a toilet. You have to walk through the open plan bedroom in order to access the bathroom, so ideally this room is perfect for the children or a group of friends who get on well together. Morley House has a large kitchen with an island workspace and a dining table which can seat 6. The kitchen is fully-equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and all the pots, pans and kitchen utensils you will need to cook up a great meal. If you don’t feel like cooking you can have breakfast or lunch in the tea gardens or even an evening meal if you order in advance. Our cosy living room is a great place to relax after a day enjoying Bathurst. DSTV and a dvd player is available for your entertainment along with a selection of board games for the whole family. We have a private patio were you can relax with seating for 6 or more. We have a braai area so you can partake in the South African national pastime and cook some meat! Guest AccessGuests will have exclusive access to all areas of the cottage and private patio area. They will also have access to the large garden, tea rooms, bookshop and pool but there may be other guests using these facilities too. There are a lot of things to see and do in Bathurst and the surrounding area. There are many historical buildings in the village, museums and even the world’s biggest pineapple to visit. If you like the outdoors you can visit Water’s Meeting Nature Reserve and canoe the Kowie River. Port Alfred’s 'Blue Flag' beaches are a mere 10 minute drive away and the university town of Grahamstown is a short 40 minutes away. If you like wildlife, we have many big 5 game reserves close by and even Addo National Park is accessible for a relaxed day trip. Getting AroundMorley House is located in the lovely village of Bathurst in the Eastern Cape and is easily accessible via Port Alfred or Grahamstown. We are less than a two-hour drive from either Port Elizabeth or East London airports. We are on the R67 15 minutes drive north of Port Alfred if you are travelling on the R72, or 40 minutes drive south of Grahamstown if you are on the N2. Morley House is on the right hand side just before the village if you are coming from Port Alfred. If you are heading from Grahamstown, turn left at the junction in the centre of the village and you will see us 200 m on your left.               The SpaceThe platforms offer very basic camping type accommodation. Each unit consists of a wooden floor, a roof and is covered on three sides with 80% shade cloth. The front of the unit is open, but has a roll down shade cloth blind. We provide guests with single bunk beds and mattresses. Each unit also has its own hot water shower, toilet and basin. No electricity is available, but generator power is available at per hour fee. Guests to provide their own bedding, cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils like with camping.               Kingston Farm is a small farm outside of Bathurst in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. We breed and bring on Appaloosas, have a very small but exceedingly good restaurant and provide bed and breakfast accommodation for visitors to this part of the world. There are three apartments: one has two bedrooms and is ideal for families. The other two apartments are designed for couples. All apartments have an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower and a fully equipped kitchen. Facilities are also available for cooking outside. The restaurant is licensed and we stock the wines from Thelema Mountain Vineyard as well as locally produced draft beer.
