Also, as an added value Palma Real Shopping Mall has approved a bus stop at the corner of where the condo is located because, among other things, our great location in Cortecito. Palma Real is a beautiful mall only a 10 minute drive south. Until now, Palma Real only offered free transport inside the area resorts. The mall boasts numerous shops, restaurants, banks, a movie theater and a large supermarket where locals like me do their shopping :) Interaction with GuestsWe live next door! We're available 24/7 for any questions you may have. If you want to be left alone, we can do that too :) We understand the importance of privacy. I'm also a destination expert and part owner of Caribbean Dream, a local tour operator; so, I can assist with transport and things to do while in Punta Cana.
My wife and I have applied years of experience renting our downstairs room next door to this condo. In doing so we've garnered numerous reviews and became Super hosts on Airbnb. We purchased the penthouse next door to offer our guests a different type of stay with more privacy. We're not rental managers, coordinating guests at 30+ properties, we're the owners; we live next door and we're trying to do things the right way.
Needless to say, we're glad to assist in any way possible! The NeighborhoodFor those of us that know Punta Cana/Bavaro, there are only two neighborhoods where life is in walking distance: El Cortecito and Los Corales. Unless you have a car, I would not recommend staying in any other area. Our Peaceful Penthouse 1BR is located in the heart of El Cortecito. All the amenities you need are within a short 5-15 minute walk of the condo: the beach (of course!), restaurants, bars, supermarkets, mini markets, shops, money exchange, and much more.
The beach is less than a 10 minute walk from the condo. From the airport, it's a 25 minute drive to the condo. Getting AroundPublic transportation is easy from the condo. Although public transport is rather informal in Punta Cana, it's efficient! Ask us for more specific info on where you're going or coming from.
Palma Real Mall Free Shuttle
Because of Palm Suites great location in Cortecito, Palma Real Shopping Mall has approved pick ups at the corner of where the condo is located. So, you have access to free transport to one of the areas best malls with shops, restaurants, banks, movie theater and supermarket. We have the transport schedule at the condo.
The bus passes by on the main road just one block from the condo about every 20-30 minutes. This is a local bus that will take you to different points on the east coast of the country with connections to other destinations. Local rides cost RD$30 per person.
You'll find them everywhere or they'll most likely find you. Although not the safest option, it is the most widely used option as the rides are quick and efficient. Most local rides cost around RD$100 per person. The moto driver may ask if you want air conditioning. If you say yes, he will simply drive faster :)
Expreso Bavaro from Santo Domingo
The express bus from Santo Domingo stops one block from the condo. Make sure to tell them you will be getting off at the Hotel Vista Sol. Then simply walk one block south (the opposite direction in which the bus came) and make your first right. Palm Suites is the second residential building on the left hand side of the street.
If you're going to Santo Domingo, the stop is at Friusa. A local bus can take you to Friusa which is about a 10 minute drive north from the condo. Cost is RD$400 per person and departures on both end are at 7am, 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 4pm. Other Things to NoteNo extra fees! Read further...
We include the electricity up to 75kwh. This should be more than enough for respectful electricity users staying a week or less. If you need the AC on all day, then you may go over but if your usage is limited to only when needed i.e. AC at night, hot water, clothing dryer (the biggest consumers) you should be fine. A meter reading will be taken upon check in and upon check out. We also have some tips at the condo on how to save on electric. Any extra payment can be made in USD, DOP or via Paypal.
Cleaning fee is included and there is no deposit required. We don't like to nickel and dime :)
Please also note that we provide 1 beach towel. Please take that into account when packing.
In any case, even though we do not accept a security deposit we work with an honesty code. If you break or lose something, please let us know and we'll come to an agreement in regards to replacing the item.
Our check in time is 3:00pm and checkout is 11:00am. We can be flexible with these times as long as we have no one departing or arriving the same day. We also have a place to store your bags if need be.
It is also important to note that there are no ATMS in the immediate, walkable area, although there are many in drivable distance. We recommend that you bring USD and exchange the money at the exchange place just down the street. It is best to use Dominican pesos as each business accepts US dollars at different rates.
