The SpaceLocated in the quiet fishing town of Bayside, your "home away from home" cottage is fully renovated and decorated. Full kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals-pots, pans, dishes, blender, hand mixer, crockpot and more. Full sized washer and dryer on site. Satellite television, high speed internet access, indoor electric fireplace to set the ambience year round, and a fabulous outdoor fireplace situated on a corner lot across the street from Copano Bay. Sit outside on a clear night and lean back in the adirondak chairs to view a river of stars in the sky above. Listen to the bird and cricket song as you enjoy the quiet, small town that is only minutes away from Rockport, Aransas Pass, and Corpus Christi fun beaches and tourist sites. A superb relaxing retreat. Guest AccessPublic fishing pier and park is just a short, 1 block walk from the cottage. Very popular "down home" country restaurant, Crofutt's has homemade breads, sweet rolls, and delicious breakfast and lunch. Kayaking, bird watching, beaches, restaurants and tons of nearby tourist attractions in Corpus Christi -- all within a 20 minute drive. Interaction with GuestsLet me know if you need anything special and I will try to accommodate your request. Our property manager lives in Bayside and will be happy to help you feel comfortable as well. She can get you started with tips or ideas if you need or just be nearby if you need help figuring anything out:) I've begun to complete the Airbnb Guidebook with recommendations for sightseeing, restaurants, fishing, etc. Please read through the guestbook we have on the table and add to it! I'd love to hear about your amazing fun, restful and memorable experience and share it with future travelers. We love it and want you to love it too! The NeighborhoodI love our quiet, country town. The neighbors are either hard working, friendly locals, or quiet vacationers. Tiny Bayside is an eclectic mix with demographics that, though small in number, pretty much reflect U.S.A. As you walk down to the public pier, if you do see anyone out, be prepared to wave back and say "howdy." I love sitting outside on our patio in the morning and listening to the nature sounds of the birds starting the day. Don't be surprised if you look up to see a migrating flock of whooping cranes, and then as your gaze comes back to the ground, a rabbit scurry past. If you love nature, you will love Bayside. Also nearby is Aransas National Widlife Refuge, Matagorda Island, Fennessey Ranch. So much to do and yet such a great tiny town and cottage for a retreat! Getting AroundYou will need a car to get around. The highways are well paved and there is access to TONS of interesting things to do and see. One idea-take the scenic route from downtown Corpus Christi along Ocean Dr. with gorgeous views of the bay. Make sure to drive across the JFK Causeway to Port Aransas and then take the ferry to Aransas Pass then on to Portland, and finally over into Corpus Christi, and over the Harbor Bridge. Be sure to check out the USS Lexington and Whataburger Field from the bridge. (Total mileage 65 miles) Retreat to "your" quiet country Bayside cottage in the evening--"heaven on earth." Other Things to NoteBayside is a very small town and while it does have a convenience store, I recommend you bring in groceries you'll be needing while you are here. If you are coming in on I59, there is an HEB grocery store where you can purchase needed items. I do have coffee, oatmeal, and breakfast bars for your convenience. There are all of the cooking utensils you might need to cook-skillet, pots/pans, crockpot, blender, toaster, coffee pot and a great set of knives. Check the Airbnb guidebook for the location of other HEBs and Walmarts near by as well. Enjoy!
