The SpaceOur home was the first Bearsville Schoolhouse, long ago converted to this cozy home. The house reverberates with 170+ years of laughter and love! Part of the fun of being in this 1845 home is trying to figure out which part of it is the oldest. You are invited to join the discussionl Picture hand-hewn beams and boards, pine floors, low doors! We are situated on a County Road with some traffic, but it is quiet at night. Your private space includes a small bedroom with a queen bed, an adjacent sitting room and a bathroom, on the 2nd floor. Many guests like to curl up on the sofa with a book and a cup of tea or glass of wine. The bathroom is shared with guests who stay in our Yurt, IF it is rented (only in the warm months). See our other listing WOODSTOCK YURT --ARTIST STUDIO https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1612516 Woodstock Yurt The house is surrounded by gardens: lots of flowers, berries to pick, and in June we celebrate roses, big time! Perhaps you'd like to get your hands in the dirt--then join me for a bit of tending and nurturing of the plants. I will be here to greet you when you come. LB & Rosa, our cats may run to say "hi", too. We are best accessible by car. We can pick you up from the bus in Woodstock or Bearsville. After that you might have to call a taxi or walk. (1.4 miles downhill to the Bear Cafe, for ex.) Guest AccessGuest private space has a separate entrance and includes a second floor bedroom, bath and sitting room. The bathroom is shared IF the Yurt is also rented. There are bathrobes provided for your use. It can be fun to share a cup of coffee or sometimes join us for breakfast together when that works out. There are lovely places in the garden and in the woods to sit outside and smell the roses. We also have a 30' diameter Yurt where Kristine does her healing work, and which is also an art and music studio. (See our listing https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1612516 Woodstock Yurt) Private appointments can be made with Kristine for Quantum Energy work sessions in the Yurt. Interaction with GuestsWe love meeting new people and sharing info about our area. Glenn and I, and our two cats, LB & Rosa, will all be here during visits. That means we can struggled along with elementary phrases in the present tense, but, we enjoy trying. I love to bake birthday cakes and I'm pretty good at it. 60 years of experience! Contact us if you are interested in a RETREAT. The NeighborhoodWoodstock is great for the art and music scene (The Bearsville Theater & Levon Helm Rambles, etc), for bicycling, kayaking, hiking the Catskill trails, swimming in the creek, shopping, and of course, eating in our fab restaurants. We're happy to help you discover our "neck of the woods." Woodstock and this area are known as a center for healing and spirituality. Woodstock is home to KTD Tibetan Monastery, home of the Karmapa (Like the Dalai Lama, but different lineage). Nearby you will find not only many Christian churches and a dynamic Jewish Congregation, but also Ridgely Center founded by Vivekenanda, the Zen Mountain Monastery in Mt Tremper as well as Sufi groups. The SpaceMy guest house is light and airy, with many windows and French doors that show our four acres of meadows and fields with the birch-lined pond and the Catskill Mountains beyond. There are several sitting areas at the pond (in sun or shade) for gazing at the flowering lily pads and frogs...or sipping a cocktail and talking. The interior of this 650 sq. ft. converted barn has wooden floors, hand-hewn beams, and vintage furniture. There are smoke detectors throughout and a first aid kit on the ground floor. You enter into the open living room/kitchen that is furnished with a couch, chair, coffee table, and a dining area with a table and 4 chairs. There is a small frig, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and tea kettle, with coffee, tea, half and half, and fruit provided. On the shelf are glasses, dishes, and silverware - if you prefer to get take-out from the many wonderful local restaurants and cozy in for the night. The antique wood stove is a decorative item. There is electric baseboard heat in each room that keeps it cozy in the winter and an air conditioner is in place for the summer months. Upstairs, the old barn boards are all painted white. It is open and spacious - with a king bed, day bed, dresser, desk and chaise lounge. The separate bathroom has a Japanese-style soaking tub/shower - where you will also find soap, shampoo, bubble bath, towels, and a hair dryer. The French doors on the ground floor open onto a private stone patio and have magnetic screens that keep the bugs out. On the north side of the guest house is a wooden deck with 2 chairs open to the field and completely private. Further in the field, between the two huge maple trees swings a double hammock for your use. A badminton net is up and rackets are in the house. A croquet set is there too. I provide blankets for star-gazing in the hammock at night or in the open field. Wifi, games, books, puzzles, no TV. Breakfast is available 1 mile away in a charming country store or 2.5 miles in the town of Woodstock. ...and flowering plants and flowers, always flowers!

The SpaceWoodstock cottage walking distance to Cooper Lake Minutes to center of Woodstock/ Bearsville Theater. Surrounded by private estates, renovated by local artist/builder. Modern/Scandinavian feel yet cozy country. Jotul stove, claw foot tub and antiques.French doors to private deck. Queen bed/ down bedding. Pullout couch. TV w DVD First time offered. Has been a family compound for the last 4 decades only changing hands once. Completely renovated by local artist with a fusion of simplicity, comfort yet maintaining its country feel. Complete solitude in an estate feel surrounding yet 3 minutes to all Woodstock has to offer. Walking distance to beautiful lake, local market and Bearsville Theater. Full use of cottage, grounds, grill, fire pit. My mother has a bed and breakfast in Panama which I have run for her many times throughout the years. I like to make my guests feel at home, give them any guidance they may need with the plethora of amenities and activities in the amazing Hudson Valley. I have lived in Woodstock for 14 years and I love to hike, bike, drink wine and eat yummy food. Im happy to share my experiences and love of this amazing area with my guests. I have lived in a couple of other areas in Woodstock and feel so fortunate to have stumbled upon this little oasis. Woodstock is full of beautiful country roads, historic old houses, meandering streams and mountains in the distance. It also has a bustling town center with great food, fun shops and a sense of a very cohesive community. Cooper Lake is one of the most stunning of all Woodstock's scenery. Walking down Cooper Lake Rd only to be greeted by the serene lake with the mountain range beyond is one of my favorite spots. My property is situated with hundreds of untouched acres nearby. One truly feels like they are tucked away in a wooded oasis. Yet it is 3 minutes to the center of Woodstock. I truly feel this property has it all. We are in the country so cars make it more convenient. But at the bottom of Cooper Lake Rd it is at the junction of 212 where the Trailways bus comes through from NY to the west. It is a bit of a trek down my road from the bus. And once at the cottage if one wants to explore a car is necessary. Masseuse available for on site body work if booked in advance for a fee. Happy to give any ideas for hiking/ biking trails, yoga classes, eateries and things to explore. Please don't hesitate to ask. Guest AccessFire pit, grill, grounds and private cottage with full kitchen and bathroom. Interaction with GuestsMy home sits on the hill above the cottage…available anytime for assistance if needed. I respect the natural beauty and solitude of the property and assure my guests have a relaxing undisturbed time.

Footwear will prevent pine needles and other dirt from getting into the tub. You will enjoy the tub more if it’s nice and clean! •Always shower prior to entering the tub. Rinsing off prior to getting into the tub keeps the water clear and helps prevent oils, lotions and hair products from getting into the tub and filters. •When opening and closing the tub cover, always have one person on each side and lift open or close evenly to prevent the covers lift arm from breaking. If one person wants to open the tub, open the 1st half of the cover from the front of the tub then step inside the tub and lift the cover open from the middle while standing directly in the center of the tub. To open or close the cover any other way will result in damaging the covers lift arm and the guest will be liable for the cost of repair. •Never sit on or lay on the tub cover! For obvious reasons. Always replace the tub cover when not in use. This will insure the tub keeps its temperature and doesn’t have debris from the trees dropping into it. •No glass in the tub! Please only use plastic cups and cans if you would like to enjoy a beverage while in the tub. •If you do notice dirt, leaves or any debris in the tub please use the skimmer to remove it the best you can. That will help prevent the filter from getting clogged and make your tub experience all the better! •Children: Most health clubs do not allow children under the age of 12 into the hot tubs. If you have children please never leave them unattended in the tub and keep the tub locked when not in use. The SpaceWhite house surrounded by forest. Up a long, winding driveway, to a secluded clearing lies Ophelia. A magical house with an open floor plan, cathedral ceilings and over 40 windows looking out onto an unspoiled landscape. A fireplace keeps everything cozy in the winter months and the house is equipped with all the comforts of home. This is a classic "Woodstock" house, once used as an artist studio, with a big north facing picture window in the great room that provides a stunning view of the forest surrounding the house. It also has some history as it was where a famous photoshoot for THE BAND took place. The sleeve covering their album "Stagefright" was taken in the den.
