The SpaceStand alone rural home with modern amenities (no WiFi!) and good cellular network. The bedroom, terrace area, balcony and living area is on the top floor of the house and is private area for the guests. The private bedroom is a large bedroom with two beds. The bed can be joined to form a kingsize double bed. Extra mattress can be provided on request. Guest AccessThe living room, kitchen and sit-out area along with surrounding 4000 sq. feet garden and ALL parts of the farm area are accessible to guests. Interaction with GuestsWe'll always be available to help you around the house - Pramod, 72 yr old farmer loves taking guests on a tour of the farm while his wife Prabha is a brilliant cook, enthusiastic and chatty hostess. There is always a pot of tea brewing and a drink in the evening for friendly guests looking for a conversation! The NeighborhoodThe farm is a quiet, secluded yet safe place ideal for small families or groups of friends. Its located right on the main highway with a town only a 10 min drive away. You could just relax with your loved ones, take walks on the farm or even work with the host on the farm if you feel like it. The weather is usually very pleasant most days and we haven't yet the felt the need for an air-conditioner. Getting AroundKhanapur has train and bus options to Goa, Mumbai. Belgaum is 40 km away is the nearest city with an airport, rail station and bus options to Goa, Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. We have a car on the premises and on request can arrange for you to be dropped or picked up from either of the locations. Other Things to NoteTo get here from Goa
You have a few options; the most convenient way would be by private taxi, a distance of approximately 140-km, and a journey of approximately 2 1/2 hours. Hiring a taxi in Goa can be expensive, so we offer you the option of sending you a taxi from here. If you would like us to make this arrangement for you please do mail us.
There is also the train, three times a week on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The Amravathy Express leaves Margoa Railway Station at 7.00 am. You need to get down at either Castle Rock or Londa, where we will make arrangements for you to be met. We are about an hour's drive away.
The Goa State Transport Corporation runs a comfortable air-conditioned mini bus, which leaves for Belgaum everyday from the Central Panjim Bus Stop. Departure is at 8.00am. You need to get down at Khanapur where we will make arrangements to have you picked up. The farm is half an hour away.
Food and Meals
Meals available with hosts at 450 INR per person and will be Indian.
There are couple of restaurants in Khanapur which offer Indian cuisine as well.
Washing machine available on premises for 200 INR . Do check with hosts as power supply is intermittent.
Pets: Dogs welcome. There is one dog on the premises.
Internet: No Wi Fi. Cellular access is 2G/3G and not very reliable.
Bathrooms: there is 24 hours water and all the bathrooms are modern, large and well equipped.
Kitchen: you can use the kitchen to cook what you like and are welcome to use most of the essentials within reason. For large groups, the hosts may levy a charge.
