Interaction with GuestsWe try to meet all our guests and generally do not rent when we are not at home unless we have repeat guests. We encourage you to tell us your needs and to ask questions to insure a pleasant stay. Guests have been known to enjoy my husband's guitar and to see a few of his magic tricks. Fran frequently takes great pictures of visiting guests and emails them to you quickly. We both like to chat but respect the guest's privacy. We do not go into the guest room when the room is rented unless a guest requests something. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is very safe and has sidewalks for taking a walk or going to the bakery, Pub, library, pizza shop, Chinese food, laundromat, church, library, tiny museum, or bus stop. We are in the Belchertown Historic District. We do recommend locking your car at night. Getting AroundPlease see the five college/UMASS bus schedule online to see the latest routes and schedules. The bus stop is a very short walk from the house. Please note that the bus runs less frequently when the colleges are not in session. There are no local taxis. Valley Transportation in Amherst is a good company for rides to and from the airport or train. Rental cars are available in Amherst about 15 minutes away and on the bus line and sometimes deliver. If we are going out, we are happy to drop you off or pick you up when mutually convenient. Other Things to NoteWe don't generally reserve this room for long stays. However, if you need to combine use of this room with our usual guest room on the first floor we can give a special offer on a longer stay.
Plenty of off street parking. If you have a high vehicle such as a U-Haul, please talk with us, since special arrangements are needed to avoid our overhanging roof.
Please note that our AC units are window units. Therefore AC is available May 1-Oct. 1. Heat is available all year.
Please note that airbnb.com policy requires that the person making the reservation be at least one of the people staying here during the reservation. If you have interested friends or family, please encourage them to register with airbnb.com.
